Glad you’ve had time to catch up with friends and family whilst you sort out your furniture shipping ! Hartlepool seems nicer than I imagined, so thanks for showing us ! Enjoy your stay x
Hartlepool has its good and bad bits like everywhere really :-) thanks for watching xx
@@Katiesfloridalife same as Grimsby !
Hey Katie, I enjoyed my time in the UK ! Thanks for taking us along. 🤗. Your UK Home is just as beautiful.
Aw thank you :-) thanks for watching xx
Thanks so much for taking us along, loved the little trip to London.
Oh not normal for anyone to be sleeping in your doorway.
It’s not is it 🤦🏼♀️😂 the site manager wasn’t happy either! Thanks for watching xx
Loved the UK vlog, I haven’t been “home” in 16 years. I should really plan a trip back, it’s just I would probably have to go on my own as my boys have autism and I don’t think (1 at least) would cope with flying.
It’s a long way isn’t it if your boys are not familiar with that environment, planes are stressful!! I definitely won’t be going home as much as I used to when we lived in Qatar. Thanks so much for watching xx
@@Katiesfloridalife I think we are going to try a quick flight somewhere next year (maybe Busch Gardens Virginia as it’s only 2 hours) to see how he does. He’s agreed to it which is huge for him (usually it’s a no and a meltdown if we continue asking.) he realizes after 10 hours in the car to TN that it’s much quicker and said he will try. 🤷♀️
Oh yes , we know all about the flight prices 😢
I think we should campaign against it Barry!!!!!
Hi new subscribers here really enjoying the channel.Glad the weathers been good for you returning to the uk.My nieces off to the taylor swift gigs soon. That beach looked lovely were from the seaside town of cromer in norfolk.Enjoy your stay and we also love florida an awesome place.Have a great week big 👍👍👍🙂
Thanks so much for watching and subscribing. It’s amazing living near the sea isn’t it, I’ve always felt lucky having that on my doorstep (when I’m in the UK) never been to Norfolk but would love to. Xx
Another great vlog Katie.
You have a lovely home, and that seafront walk in Hartlepool could give Florida a run for its money, it looks lovely. I’d love to live by the sea.
Good luck with the shipping. We are looking forward to next week’s vlog already. Love to all x
The seafront looks gorgeous doesn’t it especially when the sun is shining :-) I’m dreading this week and emptying another house but will be worth it 😍 xx
such a beautiful area. I was getting all nostalgic watching. Not having mom now, I wonder when I'll go back. Love seeing Tesco's. Great video Katie and love the comparison, funny you forget some of the major differences. Enjoy the rest of your time there xo
We do have some lovely parts of the town , I love being here. Tesco is my fave shop here, just love the way it’s set out and find it the nicest out of the supermarkets. Send me a list of things you want from here!! Xx
Hi Katie, we also lived in Doha for quite a long time and I remember sitting outside of Doha College in my car waiting to pick up my son and the temp was 50C and that was in June 😓, I don’t miss that. We also have a house in UK that we used to come home to but have moved back permanently now. x
No way what a small world, that’s the school my daughter went to 😊 I honestly don’t miss that at all it’s just unbearable heat isn’t it! Hope your happy back living in the UK, and thanks for watching xx
Great to have the house to pop back to. I would love to retire to Florida for Winters ,so really enjoy watching your Orlando content . Well done ,😀
Will be back in Orlando very soon 👏🏼 thanks for watching x
Another fab video, they're getting better every week. I'd considered doing videos myself but haven't got the patience (or the tech really) for editing - I just wouldn't know which bits to leave out but you've got a knack for it. Loved the coomparison. We often nip to Seaton (from Stockton) in the summer for a walk along the beach (and a sneaky visit to the Almighty Cod). Only 80 days until our annual trip to our place in Haines City - can't wait. Enjoy the rest of your trip, hope all the removals plans are going well.
Thank you that’s really kind of you to say, it’s definitely a process this vlogging and I’m learning every week! The almighty cod is our fave too 😍
Not long for your trip, that will be here before you know it!! Thanks for watching again x
Great vlog as usual Katie 😊
Thanks for watching again 😍
Loved seeing around Tesco. Biggest thing I miss - Markies.🙁. When I was home last year I was in the food section for ages. And I stocked up on deodorant- don’t understand at all….other than in the US if they can get away with it they will keep the prices inflated. And we may have the big washing machines but the detergents are rubbish. Again quality and price controlled by a few multi nationals. I buy a product made in Canada. Although I see it beginning to appear in California. I so enjoyed that series/film - The Man, His Wife and The Canoe. A case of fact stranger than fiction. So glad you and your daughter are having a nice time back home. I saw that Prince William took George and Charlotte to see Taylor Swift
It’s just crazy how they can keep the prices inflated that much 🤦🏼♀️ yes I do love looking around UK shops, they just seem a lot less crazier than in the US but then I love the US for that also!
Ah yes prince William was at the same one our friends went too, that’s who we met in London, wish we could have went but didn’t get tickets! Thanks so much for watching x
Most homes in the US have fences also. I have never lived in a house without a fence in the US and I have lived in many houses and locations in my lifetime. I have lived in California, Texas, Washington D.C., Maryland and now South Carolina. Builders will not commonly build the fence for you, you have to have it built yourself. Some neighborhoods have rules on what kind of fence you can have so that your neighborhood doesn't look bad with too many different kinds of fences. But most people have pets/dogs and/or pools and you need to have a fence. In a lot of states or cities there are laws that if you have a pool you have to have a fence.
Oh wow you’ve lived in lots of states that’s cool!! Yeh we have to have a certain fence if we do decide to get one too, I’m sure the HOA wouldn’t be happy if I just put any color up 🤦🏼♀️ thanks for watching x
The bags of rubbish in the garage “waiting to go to the skip” is actually a true representation of what 99% of UK garages look like 😂 and then a 2 mile queue to the local skip on a sunny Sunday when everyone decided to actually make the trip 😅
I know 😂😂 we have to have an appointment at the local skip too so it has to be planned!! There will be many more bags by the end of this week and the house is finally empty. Thanks for watching x
Hi. Great VLOG. I love Marksies. Food defo nicer. Comparisons were great. ❤ Cheeky guy sleeping in yiur doorway. Hope thats nit happened since 😮 Enjoy your trip xxx
Marksies is great isn’t it, and I don’t think it’s much more expensive that the rest now 🤷🏼♀️ thanks for watching xx
@@Katiesfloridalife it sure is. It's marginally more but worth it xxx Love ving watching. Btw where was the beach you were at?
@@hilaryryan6608 it’s called Seaton Carew, in Hartlepool ❤️
Hello, another great vlog.
You may want to look at flights out of Fort Lauderdale, or Miami airport might be cheaper. You can take the Brightline train from the Orlando airport to those locations.
I will have to expand my search next time yes, I’ll check those out thanks. Thanks for watching x
Small world - our hometown too! Had no idea you were from here but we actually walked past you walking into Tesco 😂
No way!!! You should have said Hi. Thanks for watching x
@@Katiesfloridalifeit was one of those moments where it takes you a while to realise where you recognise someone from! 😂 Hope you’re enjoying your time back here xx
I’ve done it a few times with vloggers in the parks and didn’t go and say Hi. I’m here for another week or so and I live in Tesco so might bump into you xx
Katie it’s funny you say this about the flights from USA to Europe! I was talking about that with my friends from America and it’s like they want Americans to stay in America and not spend their money abroad! I live in Spain even for me, the flights have doubled now to go to Orlando.
It’s crazy isn’t it 😳😳 it really is going to dictate where and when we travel now! Thanks for watching x
Love your vlogs Katie, me hubby and daughter are currently renting a condo in Bradenton, on the gulf Coast, we love coming here, love AMI. We live in Cullercoats, wish our beaches were as nice as AMI 😊 Look forward to all your vlogs xx
It depends. You can find lots of offers for cheap fares to Europe. But you usually have to depart from specific airports, which means arranging a cheap domestic flight to get to that city. If you live in New York or San Francisco you have an advantage, for example. From Orlando you might get better fares if you leave from Atlanta or Charlotte maybe? But they probably only go to London or Manchester, and other U.K. city airports are tougher to book.
I wonder if you use a VPN and try to book a U.S. outbound flight but using a U.K. IP if you can get better fares?
Great vlog 😊
Thank you ❤️
It isn't a rule that American bedrooms have to have a closet, but you just wouldn't find a house or apartment built in the last century+ without them. Legally bedrooms only have to have a window. So if you had a room with a window but no closet you could use it as a bedroom (and list it or describe it as a bedroom) but they are intended for a different use, such as a study, den, or office. You can never list a windowless room as a bedroom.
Yeh the same in the UK that they have to have a window… ah right so it’s not actually a rule about a closet, my mistake I thought it was. To be honest it should be that rule all over the world 😂 but I know most places they just don’t build homes big enough!! Thanks for watching x
it’s not normal to sleep on someone’s house I would have scared him in hoping he wet himself lol
Haha I know thinking back I should have, I just didn’t dare at the time x
Are you allowed to peg your washing outside in your Florida home?
That’s a great question, I don’t know 🤷🏼♀️ I will have to check the HOA rules. X
😂your USA closet is bigger than our UK box bedroom 😮😅. Rooms are a lot smaller in the main in the UK
Haha it’s crazy isn’t it, they would never build that in the UK!!
Could you not get someone from UK to book flights from here Im sure it would work out cheaper than booking in uk
I tried that, we tried using a VPN to say we were in the UK but didn’t make any difference. It’s just something we will have to factor in now we live there, never mind! X
Congratulations you tell us what you paid for the flights please
$2500 😱😱 when it’s around $1200 going in the other direction!!!
@@Katiesfloridalife each or together?
You dont get free flight just pay taxes with your husband being a pilot? My nieces boyfriend father works for an airline and don’t pay.
Nope 🤦🏼♀️ we used to when we worked for Qatar Airways but he works for a corporate company now so doesn’t work like that!!
