5:00 is probably the biggest part and you buzzed right through it! All fiber optic HDMI cables I've seen are directional. Being able to swap the ends after you've run a 100' fiber cable is a killer feature!
The OptHDMI 300mA port on the back of your projector is specifically for plugging the USB power into for fibre optic HDMI cables. That will free up the other USB port if you end up using one of these in the future.
This is the best cable since sliced bread I definitely need this cable for the long run of my surround sound in my theater room. This is an ingenious invention this will definitely cut out the lag in sound that I’ve been fighting with for years and I will never have to cut my ceiling again.
I've been keeping an eye out for a solid solution for the issue we're having with to long of an HDMI cord going from a computer to projector at our church. Thank you so much for making this video. I believe that this is the solution to our problem! 😊
I have broken more Fiber HDMI Cables and had more problems with multiple different companies .... this looks to be a great solution to many of our problems! Thanks for doing this video!
I just upgraded and future proofed my cables with HDMI Ultra High Speed 8K! You can't win. It's like the old joke that asks "what is the definition of an obsolete PC" and the answer is "the one you just bought."
@@GeorgeTheaterAtHome It's OK, I'm used to it. I bought Betamax over VHS. Then Betamax went out and I bought a very expensive Zenith VHS, with stereo! Future proofing of course. Then of course there never was any stereo content for VHS, then VHS went out for compact disc. It doesn't stop there. Anybody want to buy an expensive but lightly used CD player? 🤣
As an engineer, I work around fiber all the time but have never seen it utilized in such a unique way. I have a home theater that could definitely use this upgrade. I did all the work myself, so I look forward to running this fiber through my conduit. Thank you for sharing your time and expertise!
We've had the equivalent on the networking and telecom side for a long time. 10Base-FX and 100Base-FX media converters and even T1 over fiber converters have been around for 30+ years.
I have a small home studio and being able to run HDMI to my guest room to run video to the TV in that room would help either myself of the singer/lyricist of being able to be in a colder room with less noise for recording. This looks like it would be highly ideal! Great video and information! Thanks!
I’m in the process of designing my dedicated home theater and this is a great solution for what will be a longer HDMI run to my projector. Appreciate the demo!
I never comment on videos, but I could really use this product! I’ve been looking for an HDMI fiber solution for a while and am glad it’s finally available! Thanks for sharing!
We just built our new home and moved in right before Christmas! We have a full home theater and that cable would be perfect for my setup. Thx for sharing!
Love the idea of the ends on this cable. This would be perfect for the long run from our AVR to an additional tv we want to install on the patio out back. Thanks for showcasing this for us. 😊
Love this solution. I have the original Rupipro cable going from my theater equipment room to the projector and it has occasional handshake issues. I’ve been looking for a replacement cable. This solution is perfect.
Looks great! Have ran 3 cables under the floor and up the walls 30’ in the past. I love the idea of only changing the ends. I am running from a built in video cabinet to a Sony 75” tv on another wall.
man, this actually a fantastic idea and I can't believe that someone has only just done it. I'm upgrading my gaming PC this month to the new 5090 and moving it to my server rack at the same time. I've got 15m Fibre Display Port cables for it but I still wish it had this feature.
Getting ready to rearrange my rack and change my projector mounting. Having a new cable that I never have to worry about running through the wall again would be awesome. So pick me! Even if you don't keep up the good work. Several of your videos have given me good ideas for my home theater.
Running this where my loud computers are in a networking closet instead next to me at my desk. I am so glad I am in the continental US and can take part in the giveaway. Thanks for the video.
I am using a fixed end HDMI Fiber cable from my TV through my wall to my receiver. The run is about 18-20 feet and it works great. These cables your video are awesome. I love that you can replace the ends when it is time to upgrade. I need this in my system to help future proof the cables. We use similar cables at work in our conference rooms.
Perfect hdmi solution. I could use this cable as I am running cables through the walls next 2 weeks as we’re installing a flush mount tv and surround sound and the closet is at least 35 feet away. Would be happy to send a quick video to you showing how the cable worked with my new Samsung S95D TV install. Thanks for making this video.
We are upgrading our entertainment center and need a better solution rather than taking down all the panels around our home theater setup every time we are to do upgrades or replace a piece of equipment (I've made large removable panels for future upgrades but it's difficult since I don't always have help with the cumbersome panels). This is definitely a game changer in technology. I've used cat 5 for coax in walls but I've never seen this technology so I would love to win something like this... So awesome, definitely love the idea of only having to replace the HDMI connections as needed! Keep up the great videos 👍
Thanks for the walk through. My current theatre in the living room (7.1.4) has ARC issues due the length of the HDMI cable (35 ft). And it was a pain to get through the conduit due to how stiff it is. Thanks for the solution.
HEY GEORGE! I was literally just researching 50ft/15m cables on Amazon as my last copper 15m hdmi cable has had some latency issues. I’m mustering up the courage to get back into the ceiling of my living room home theater to do some more cable runs as soon as I find the right cables - THIS LOOKS LIKE THE ONE! Thanks for your uploads as usual! Nickolas (USA based address).
I am in the slow process of building out my dedicated home theater. I could definitely use one of those HDMI cables for the projector run since they're on opposite sides of the room. Thanks for the great content
@GeorgeTheaterAtHome I watch to learn. I'll be putting out videos here soon and I admire how you and others that I watch can talk so fluidly while in front of a camera.
Great product (Ruipro). I can see running a branch to my basement. Looks super easy. Simplicity earns customers. Nice, thorough, hands-on demo by you in the vid. 👊
Getting ready to upgrade my surround system in my 28ft family room ! Theses sound great . Thanks for educating us ! Had know idea these things existed .
Excellent review. This is exactly what I need to replace a long-outdated braided HDMI I have wrapped around my living room that isn't even suitable to upgrade to 4k. One of a few reasons I've been holding off on a 4k projector.
I work for Cypress Village Senior living facility, We are having connectivity issues all the time. I think this might fix the issue we've had for years! Looking forward on trying this awesome product!
Was looking at fiber optic hdmi cables and being able to detach the connectors is a great idea for upgradability. I would use this to connect devices in my sever rack in the basement to my living room and office and keep all the heat from the devices in the basement.
Thanks for the video! I'm the lead production volunteer at my church and I'm thinking about switching to fiber optic HDMI to move all of our video signals around. It will eliminate a lot of switchers. 😊
These would be perfect for my current setup. I had designed our living room to accommodate a projection setup during our remodel years ago. In my ultimate wisdom, I put all of my electronics at the back of the room in a built in rack, as to keep the HDMI run to the projector relatively short. But we have since ditched the projection system for a direct view television, which now requires a long (50 ft.) HDMI run. The fact that you don't have to pull an HDMI head through the wall makes this solution a total winner!
Thanks to your video that I stumble run into. I didn’t know fiber optic is available for such task. I love to have a great home theater and have been planning for my future retire ranch house to be build. I am a planning person all my life and want to apply into my big project where I am waiting for a great 100+ inches tv instead of projector. I like your rack theater equipments that keep nice and neat. Thank you for sharing the fiber optic hdmi cables I will make sure including in my project. Keep up with your innovation and you are earning my subscriber to your channel.
I installed a 50' fiber optic HDMI in my new theater inside a conduit. It broke while trying to adjust the projector. I ran a temp one along the ground like you did in your video. I'm having hand shake issues. Great video. Tks for sharing.
I have a ophthalmology surgery center, and we have a large television monitor on the wall for staff and other doctors to learn about surgery. We’ve been having trouble with our HDMI cable constantly cutting out because the signal is not strong enough to make it from the microscope where the output is to thetelevision. We could really use this in our operating room.
Highly recommend this brand of cable, even for shorter runs. I haven’t used these exact ones yet, but the other RUIPRO I use are great. I was having a problem with video dropping out for a couple seconds but still had audio from my Nvidia Shield and my Panasonic 4K player and it happened every couple of minutes. I tried numerous workarounds: updated all firmware, tried to change the way my Harmony remote turned on the TV/AVR/source devices to try and get a solid “handshake”, and tried several expensive brands of HDMI cables. Finally gave the 8K RUIPRO fiber optic a chance and it fixed the HDCP electronic handshake problem.
I like you home video server. Unfortunately I do not have a need for a cable like that but I like the fact your giving them away. thanks for your content.
Wow, I thought it wouldn't work. I don't have a dedicated theatre room, I'm renting. With that said, this cable would be great im my use case scenario because it's soon thin and I can route and hide it easier. Recent fan by the way. Love your small bedroom theatre . Keep up the great content. Sincerely, a new subscriber.
I definitely need one of these... My 15 year old ceiling-mounted TV (due to the brick fireplace wall behind it) is dying, and the HDMI cable I have (also 15 years old) is routed through the ceiling and down the back wall to the receiver. I've been dreading re-running this cable, but the fiber solution looks perfect!
I've been using an HDMI extender over ethernet to run from my tower about 35 feet to my TV. It's been nothing but a nightmare getting it to work. Different units, manufacturers, board replacements, etc.. and the cost my current solution is crazy. These fiber optic cables are just what I need.
We are building an art installation at a community gallery space and using this cable for our projector wall would be very beneficial. Our racks are a good 40ft away from the projector so having a clean solution for running long distances with the future-proofing aspect is huge!
Replaceable HDMI connectors on fiber is an awesome idea. I currently have HDMI over fiber from my pc in my office to my AV Receiver in my Livingroom. Being able to future proof it with something like this would be amazing. Thank you for the video!!
Thank you for the demo of the fiber optic cable. I would use this cable in my studio for my camera to the switcherI will look in to buying one for my church as well. Thanks again.
This is awesome! I am building out my home theater room this year and I would love to have a future proof cable like this for the long projector hdmi cable run.
I would run it through the attic from one side of the house to the other. Office to living room :) I splice Fiber and this is a unique media converter I wouldn't expect from Fiber Optics. Thanks for sharing a video of this product!
This is probably the exact solution I need for my Samsung Neo G9. It requires 2.1 to do full resolution and refresh rate, but I've avoided fiber cables because of how delicate they are. In theory i could just get a replacement cable if the fiber breaks. Much better than the 10' copper cable I'm currently struggling with. Thanks for the review :D
About to install my first projector to replace the TV in my home theater. I’ll be needing to make a long cable run and this HDMI looks to be exactly what I need. Thanks for sharing!
This cable looks cool. I could use this to setup the computer i use by my bed to be further away instead of being super close to me. I'll make having my bedside moniter feel more like a tv.
I definitely could use these type fiber optical to hdmi cables on my Denon 7.1 Home Theater AV system. I'm already using a fiber optical cable for audio for some of my stuff. Thank You for reviewing this and sharing ❣️💯👍
Appreciate the installation and demonstration. I will get one at some point. I would not be surprised if there comes a time when computers transfer info completely through fiberoptic means.
This is an awesome product - i have always wanted to run hdmi through my house to connect my pc and tv, but couldnt justify the hours spent running a cable only for jt to be obsolete in a few years. Its brilliant to see that they are using a recognised fibre standard (i believe its MPO) which hopefully suggests large compatibility with wall plates and patch panels? It seems like this product has so much potential for things like displayport and more which is also quite exciting (not sure if it would require a different number of fibres)
I’d use this for my sister and brother in laws new home. They will finally be able to have a dedicated room in the new place. It would be a great housewarming gift for them! My rack is only ten feet from my projector, so I don’t have a use for this cable. Looks like a great product.
I ran ruipro fiber optic cable when I built my current theater, but my dad has an HDMI cable pre-run in his basement. It is not 4K capable and now we’re planning on pulling new cable. I was going to suggest he buy the same cable I have, but this one is way better. I would definitely be able to make use of this!!!
Id love to have that as a FINAL upgrade to my home theater. Maybe this will stop my system from "blinking" whenever I go from UA-cam to Netflix (or whatever streaming source) . Technology changes so fast and going thru the ceiling is getting old just as fast. Good video!!!
That blinking is a result of your display having to adjust to a new source type. If you have an AppleTV you can change the setting for “match content” and it should go away.
Sounds like an awesome solution for the modern theater room where cable runs are the greatest challenge. I too use conduit tubes as a path for HDMI cables.
Just to note that HDMI 2.2 was just announced recently. The specification should be completed sometime later this year. Hopefully just the connectors need to be updated.
Yes 2.2 also doubles data rate but a note for the manufacturer make it usbc not micro connection as required for new equipment from this year in eu zone, also please make the fibre black for easier blending with existing equipment
@@ram64man You can buy a custom MPO cable that is "armored" and those are usually black. But these cables are not some custom options companies just pick a color for, the aqua color is because this is an OM3 cable and colors are standardized by the industry. To make a custom jacket fiber MPO cable would be extremely expensive. OM3 is aqua, OM4 is magenta, OM5 is lime green. If you do buy your own MPO cable, all these fiber hdmi things use "type A" straight through versions instead of the "Type B" crossover versions. An MPO12 or MPO8 should be compatible with this product in the video. Vatious websites sell armored fiber optic cables with MPO connectors. You want an "OM#" one for the wavelengths this product uses.
@AOCFIBERLINK does your cable cause any additional latency compared to a traditional copper conductor cable? I have been looking to a solution to a distance problem. We want to move the gaming pc to an area farther away from theater room seating area but traditional HDMI has been the roadblock. I love the idea of fiber but I was concerned about potential lag time.
@@hochhaul fiber optic hdmi cables should not add any additional latency, if anything they are ever so slightly faster. We have had fiber cables in networking for decades and they still go from copper to fiber at the port, using the same hardware these hdmi cables use to convert between copper and fiber. Those network cables and their SFP converters have no extra latency, and even less than long copper cables did, so these hdmi ones should be the same on that front
Currently building my home theater and have a 20 ft stretch for the cable to go. This technology would be a great addition. Recently discovered your channel and really enjoy what you’re putting out.
I have a few Ruipro cables deployed. I am sooooo excited that they are offering the modular design. Being able to pull just fiber without the clunky ends is amazing. I wonder how long it can go... 100m sure, 250m maybe, 500m...? I also hope they offer DP in this form factor in the future.
Hey man! So I typically do live streaming for our local race track events and this would be a really handy addition for placing a camera remotely by the start because wireless systems tend to interfere with the timing system. Appreciate the review! Hope I win haha
Being able to hook up with a future proof system would be amazing. I'm a huge fan of using LIGHT and am glad someone has figured out how to bring it to the HDMI world. In my setup I am currently seeking to upgrade all of my HDMI wires. I've been out of the game for a while but I'm diving back into the realm of home theatre head first, trying to make my gaming look and sound worlds better!
Id love one of these 45 foot cables. I'm currently using a big fat cable running down my hallway through the living room for my home theater because the plumber cut my cable that ran under my house while putting in our new shower and under pan. Didn't know it until we tried to use the projector and by then it was too late. Great idea for sure, I have been looking at these for a month or two just haven't talked my wife into spending that much on a cord lol if she only knew how much all the cords I have ran through the house cost.
Great review. I’m currently building my first dedicated theatre room. I just bought a 98 inch TCL. I would love to pair that with my Panasonic UB9000. Keep the great videos coming.
I have a central AV cabinet and could definitely use a cable like this for my living room TV. Since it's a fiber optical cable, it would be extremely easy to fish through my communications chase. I could definitely put these cables to good use as I'm sure others could as well.
Was looking for the best option for an hdmi cable for my new initial home theater setup. Fiber Optics is also something that I was looking into. Enjoy your videos. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
MPO cables are perfect for this. I’ve been wondering for years why more companies didn’t use already existing fiber infrastructure to do things like this. Perfect! Can’t wait to get one myself.
I have fought with the HDMI cable length issues for the past 20 years! I wish we had had this way back then. I went thru repeaters, and etc. This would have made my life so much easier!
That video is great and well demonstrated. This cable would be great for my out door videos for the block I have a blown up video screen and a projector that isn’t a short throw so my issue is cable length so we can’t use the whole screen. This cable is exactly what I need great video. Also love your setup
This is awesome. I've been wanting to move my receiver etc. to a closet, not very near my TV in my theatre room and this would finally allow me to do it.
I like the video. Very cool fiber optics. I didn't know that it was interference free. Id definitely use this for the projector or laptop to travel! Many options with that fiber HDMI cable.

I do the same. As a matter of fact, all of my cables are Ruipro. I use them even for short runs. They work.

Just bought the new Valerion Max on kickstarter. Perfect timing
Thank you for the demo of the fiber optic cable. I would use this cable in my studio for my camera to the switcherI will look in to buying one for my church as well. Thanks again.
You are very welcome!
This is literally the solution I had in my head for years. Finally 😂
I’m actually looking at this brand. Thanks for the review!
This is awesome! I am building out my home theater room this year and I would love to have a future proof cable like this for the long projector hdmi cable run.
I would run it through the attic from one side of the house to the other. Office to living room :)
I splice Fiber and this is a unique media converter I wouldn't expect from Fiber Optics.
Glad I could help! Enjoy the new setup.
I’d use at work to test out connecting PC’s from the server room to the monitors on the floor. That would be a game changer for IT Staff.
This cable looks cool. I could use this to setup the computer i use by my bed to be further away instead of being super close to me. I'll make having my bedside moniter feel more like a tv.
I’d run it 35’ from my receiver to my projector to enjoy it for our family gatherings. Thanks for the content
I definitely could use these type fiber optical to hdmi cables on my Denon 7.1 Home Theater AV system. I'm already using a fiber optical cable for audio for some of my stuff. Thank You for reviewing this and sharing ❣️💯👍
The built in power on both ends would for sure stop the flicker issues I have today on my cable to only has a single side boosted at the AVR.
This would be a sick way to connect my PC to my bedroom setup! Never knew fiber optic cables could be used this way.
Appreciate the installation and demonstration. I will get one at some point. I would not be surprised if there comes a time when computers transfer info completely through fiberoptic means.
I’d use it to run from my gaming pc in my office to the family room tv. Perfect solution for me.
I wish I chould have a bro/sis like you😀
I ran ruipro fiber optic cable when I built my current theater, but my dad has an HDMI cable pre-run in his basement.
@GeorgeTheaterAtHome I'm going to try that tomorrow!!!!
This would be great for my home theater project that I’m just starting
Sounds like an awesome solution for the modern theater room where cable runs are the greatest challenge. I too use conduit tubes as a path for HDMI cables.
Just to note that HDMI 2.2 was just announced recently. The specification should be completed sometime later this year. Hopefully just the connectors need to be updated.
You can say that again. The latest HDMI version till now is HDMI 2.1
Glad you're enjoying the channel! Thanks for watching!
I could finally move my av equipment to my office with this! I am just over what you could run via hdmi.
This is Great to run through the wall to update my older HDMI cable, great video!
Nice to see fiber being used in other applications now.
I would use that for my home theater.
My projector is starting to fail and now would be the time to run a new cable. Having replaceable heads is a great idea for future upgrades.
That would be amazing for my outdoor theater setup.
Love the modular design. Would make my setup so much easier.
I have a central AV cabinet and could definitely use a cable like this for my living room TV. Since it's a fiber optical cable, it would be extremely easy to fish through my communications chase. I could definitely put these cables to good use as I'm sure others could as well.
I could use this in my home network for work for sure
Was looking for the best option for an hdmi cable for my new initial home theater setup. Fiber Optics is also something that I was looking into. Enjoy your videos. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
That's perfect. I could use that with my home theater.
MPO cables are perfect for this. I’ve been wondering for years why more companies didn’t use already existing fiber infrastructure to do things like this. Perfect!
Can’t wait to get one myself.
Thanks for the demonstration I have to replace current cable in wall this may solve that issue.
I wish I knew about this years ago before I ran a 40’ HDMI cable. This would have worked perfectly for my setup.
I like the video. Very cool fiber optics. I didn't know that it was interference free. Id definitely use this for the projector or laptop to travel! Many options with that fiber HDMI cable.
