Honestly, I find the game very addicting. It’s fresh, interesting, and weird. The combat can be a bit janky, but it feels so good. And being able to just rag doll enemies never gets old. The lack of a map is a small problem though, or just a decent waypoint system. But exploration is otherwise fun and rewarding. All in all, the game is fun and hilarious. Highly recommend.

Honestly I think this game is amazing. The art style alone would be worth it for me, but the more I go into it the more I like every facet of it. Exploration is interesting and old school in a Dark Souls kind of way, items you find are actually meaningfull, characters are incredibly interesting and so well flashed out by their voice acting, the world is so unique and amazignly characterized. What you don't get, and the reason why I think you didn't enjoy this game as much, is that this is trying to be Zeno Clash meets Dark Souls (tired comparison I know but I wouldn't know what to compare it to) so it's supposed to not hold your hand. It wants to make you work for it. And I love it all the more for this reason. Amazing game, buy it!
This game completely blew me away. It's really incredible what such a small team achieved here. The game is a cult classic masterpiece. Give it some time and you won't be able to put it down. The soundtrack should get an award. it's absolutely incredible. I don't remember such good music in video games since the 90's.
I saw this feature in early preview builds of the game, but it was either pulled or not available in the review copy? I did not come across it in my time with the game.
@@LaRubiarubina No rush at all, just didn't find the map intuitive, and bumbled around as was mentioned. Felt like the game was wasting my time far too often. Really glad you are enjoying it!
You never played them, yet both Zeno Clash, and Zeno Clash 2 can be obtained on Steam. You'll see they are very different from this, what ever this is that doesn't belong to the same look and feel as the first two. You effectively need to play Zeno Clash to appreciate Zeno Clash 2 as it's a direct sequel. Zeno Clash pretty much sets up the world, the characters, and the mysteries. You could go without it, but you will miss out. That first person perspective is what you play with in the Zeno Clash games, and it is one aspect I loved the games for.
This reviewer must have never played a ps1 or early PS2 game I think the less handholding a game has, the more you can enjoy it instead of just looking at the map And it makes it so much more satisfying when you figure out what to do.

@@IDreamofIndie Just played it and hands down one of the best games I've ever played. The combat is really enjoyable, alot like Absolver, and the story is quite sweet and lighthearted . They made a big efford to really fletch out characters through voicelines throughout the gameplay, mostly between The protagonist and the boy, the voiceactors did an amazing job with this game as well. As someone who took 30h to beat the first bloodborne boss: The combat is totally manageable, at least if you take a little time to collect figurines etc. The ritual is skippable in almost any fight by just attacking, but gives the player a chance to give himself an advantage against strong enemies, and a weapon system (pretty much like zelda, breath of the WIld, just fewer of them) to deal more damage. The visuals are simply amazing, amazing characterdesign, worldbuilding, simply everything. Also, the devs added alot of orientational help and throughout my playthorugh I got lost only a single time, the game simply invites you to check out every corner to find materials or upgrades, as well as shortcuts (doors only unlockable from one side, drawbridges etc.) to allow for quick travel through already explored areas. The nightmode manages to work in alot more bossfights on the same map, while trying to switch up the aestethics of the day mode, which in my opinion, it does amazingly,.it allows you to open passages and retrieve your body to get a asecond chance + there's an entirely different system in place to equip your character. During the day, your character can only equip armor, which is bought from a trader (it unlocks mroe armor as the story progresses), while during nighttime, you can find and switch out entire bodyparts of your character. leveling up is done by spending collectable puppets of different variety on fighting stances (there are quite a few to choose from) and different special moves (Youz unlock them by finding totems and fighting their guardians). Also there are normal skillpoints for more basic stuff like Power, Endurance,... I'm not saying this game will be your kind of game, because it simply is unique in every aspect of itself. It combines a whole range of different ideas and mechanics which can be abit much at the beginning. But if you take your time with it and apreciate the level of love and detail the devs put into it, it's amazing from start to finish.
I think the game is cool. This was a strange review. Complaining about navigating a world? Maybe the idea is to explore the world (which the reviewer stated is beautifully crafted)? Weird.
Glad you are enjoying it! The visuals and world they created are beautiful. But unfortunately, bumping around it for hours and making no progress just wasn't fun for me. Again, enjoy the game and thanks for supporting the video!
Next time you talk about a map in a video game, might be a good idea to show what it looks like. Especially if the map isn't that helpful for navigating. Without a visual reference, I can't determine if the map would be unhelpful to me. Not that it matters too much in this review. A good map probably wouldn't make this game excellent. Hell, I did not even know that different places can be accessed at night, nobody told me. After getting lost for like the 3rd time for more than half an hour, I quit. It's a shame.
