so glad your UA-cam audience has been mostly positive! I follow a lot of reality TV and the way people in this world attack cast/alumni on social media is honestly horrifying! Even if someone doesn't like you [in which case they clearly haven't actually listened and gotten to know you], that doesn't make it okay to be so mean.

My question would be-
Did the girls compete in competitions outside of dance moms and if so, was the atmosphere different and less intense with all the mothers and drama etc?

I don't have a question, but I definitely think you go above and beyond to continue responding *positively* to people who really love you, your kids, and your time on Dance Moms. Anyone in your position could choose to stay out of the spotlight afterwords, but you chose the harder route and that laudable. Anyone who wants to be rude doesn't deserve your energy.

While I never really followed Dance Moms while it was airing, I've been watching this series since you started and it is so insightful! I am fascinated with the behind the scenes of reality TV and its impact on the cast and I have been wanting to ask this question for a while: On dance moms there were a few controversial dances (like electricity and the showgirl dance), how did you address and handle these dances and the controversy with your kids? I feel like this is a great moment of dance parenting that would have been interesting to see on television.

Melissa, I just can’t tell you how much I liked you. Rewatching Dance Moms I relate to Melissa a lot, where I didn’t necessarily want to speak up because I was scared. I’m not sure if that was Melissa’s case or not, but that’s how I could see her as me, just because she struggled with confrontation. It was very hard to watch the Zieglers because I relate a lot to all three of them lol.

hi melissa!! ive been a longtime fan of dance moms for some time and im so glad i found your channel!!! i have a few questions ive been meaning to ask while watching. you can pick the ones you want to read if you can!!
1. do you recall any fights that were actually the producers fault and were blamed to be the moms? i can recall that there was one where kira threw a water bottle at a producer but they made it seem like jess, and as i was wondering if this ever happened before and it was just well hidden.
3. were brooke's cheerleading tryouts faked for the show?
4. did jill actually leave for candy apples in s2?
5. was maddie's music skipping real for her solo "in my heart"? if so, did she practice with it?
6. was the group dance "playing with matches" disqualified?
7. did maddie get accepted in to the Joffrey ballet school along with Chloe, even when the producers try to hide it? if so, did either of them actually go?
lastly, a few personal questions!!
8. what is your favorite chloe and maddie duet?
9. was there ever a dance where you strongly disagreed with and found inappropriate looking back on now or then? (ex. Electricity, nia's laquifa dance).
