While I never really followed Dance Moms while it was airing, I've been watching this series since you started and it is so insightful! I am fascinated with the behind the scenes of reality TV and its impact on the cast and I have been wanting to ask this question for a while: On dance moms there were a few controversial dances (like electricity and the showgirl dance), how did you address and handle these dances and the controversy with your kids? I feel like this is a great moment of dance parenting that would have been interesting to see on television.

Melissa, I just can’t tell you how much I liked you. Rewatching Dance Moms I relate to Melissa a lot, where I didn’t necessarily want to speak up because I was scared. I’m not sure if that was Melissa’s case or not, but that’s how I could see her as me, just because she struggled with confrontation. It was very hard to watch the Zieglers because I relate a lot to all three of them lol.

Hi Melissa I have a question during season 5/6 Maddie missed a lot of rehearsals and training because she was either working with Sia or doing interviews, did all of that professional work take a toll on her dancing, like her technique, flexibility and stamina. Since she was barely training at the studio anymore.

I am so sorry that people have upset you Melissa, it is so horrible and hard to get past once it hits you, someone told me once the reason why your upset is because you are a good person so I will repeat those wise words to you today. I think sometimes of my grandmothers who are no longer here with me and think how much more tolerant and forgiving that generation was compared with todays. Hi Melissa! I grew up watching Dance Moms and now I’m an acro/tumbling teacher :) I’m very curious about how/when the girls started acro and tumbling? Did the ALDC have a specific curriculum, or did the girls take gymnastics lessons? Thanks for sharing all that you do!
