I agree I have heard Maddie lots of times saying that she wouldn't be where she is without the show. She doesn't usually mention it by name, says the show that she was on when she was young (or something similar).
Someone can be grateful for the benefits they have ended up getting from a situation while still not want to talk about the actual situation.

My question is about what the kids' technique and training was like before vs. during the filming of the show? Some seasons make it seem like they don't take many classes and that most of their time was dedicated to learning choreography.
