How do you record your covers and audio? Just curious. Still trying to learn and decide what I want to do. AS for now, I just use a mic up to my speakers. That's it. Simple and lazy method lol

I'm a completely biased towards digitalized signals (for better or for worse), so the setup is as follows:
      - guitar connected via iRig HD2 to PC/Mac (iRig 2 works too and is crazy cheap)
      - tone modeler, like AmpliTube etc so we can shape the guitar signal
      - if using a PC: ASIO4ALL driver and a sound loopback enabled (this requires substantial amount of time to set up) - loopback needed to mix 2 sound signals, one from guitar and the other from YT/Spotify/whatever you use for music playback)
      - if Mac: BlackHole audio loopback driver - to get the same ability as with PC: to mix multiple inputs into a single output we can record - this is my preference as its dead easy to setup up
      - a recorder (audio+video) - here I use OBS to actually listen for guitar signal (after it gets through iRig and AmpliTube) AND for music playback and treat it as a single recording
this setup is not ideal though, it's introducing a bit of latency (some people say that even "a bit" is too much) so if you care for the natural, organic feel of playing more than the freedom to shape the sound to your liking, the "simple and lazy" mic setup might be a lot better. Usually the simple things are superior, so don't throw your method out so easily :)

@avalan_che yeah ty for info! I mean I'm 49 now, started late. Busy with work, other things. So this is just quick for me. The positive I suppose is that it shows I'm playing real and raw, one take , no tweaking etc . Just raw jamming with song.
Just Pretend it sounds like you recorded a concert performance with a phone lol 😆

Crap, I hoped this question never comes up here 😉because I don't have anything written down yet. I suppose I can share a .gp5 tab, but let me know what are your expectations? Whole main lead part / rhythm / all instruments (I think there is also higher octave guitar there)? Or maybe the "non-canonical" way of playing I'm doing here (mix of lead and rhythm)? If the latter then chances of publishing that tab increases greatly.

@@avalan_che I would also appreciate the tabs of your guitar playing (the second mentioned option). Thank you, amazing cover!!

Sorry to keep you waiting, UG verification took longer than I anticipated. The tab is not complete yet (lack of time to focus on solo) but I plan to finish it soon.
