There's quite a few programs where if you upload a midi file of a song to it, it'll push out a file which if you put into a tab program e.g. guitar pro, it'll give you a pretty good base tab for guitar or whatever instrument you select, a lot of people did this for piano/guitar for soulless 4.
I had to do it all by ear, but in some ways it's actually easier than figuring out a normal 'guitar' song. I can slow it right down and it doesn't turn to a distorted sloppy mess :P
@@HalfDuck The one major upside to any music that's electronic, it's pretty easy for even a beginner to pick up the notes by ear. However, they need the skill to play it and memorize the notes. I'm trying to learn how to do things by ear better on piano, there's a few tricks I've found

It's actually not that hard : it's just a lot of practice and developping the right techniques (well, at least for strumming, alternate picking and tapping/pull off). Also, as counter-intuitive as it sounds, the more relax you are in your picking and strumming, the more consistent your speed will be and it will also be easier to reach the desired speed etc. Arpeggios are another story tho, the accuracy needed is harder but can be achieve with a lot of practice and simple exercices to reach that accuracy at such speed.
As a pro guitarist, this video is sped up. If you need proof for your own eyes, watch the bounce of his leg or the speed of the chair's movements when the chair is visible or the bouncing speed of the unclipped string ends hanging off the headstock. There are many sections where it's pretty obvious. I'm not saying nobody can play this precisely at this speed, probably hundreds of guitarists on earth can, but this UA-camr faked this particular video. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, IMO, as long as he's not trying to get a record deal or advertise for lessons that he's giving (and therefore lying about his level as a guitar teacher).
I'm amazed by how faithfully recreated this is. You obviously did some layering, but I'm really ready to believe that you actually did successfully play all of this, and I'm even more impressed that you transcribed it!

Man this sounds so good and it matches the game perfectly. You did this so quickly I can't even imagine the amount of time and effort you put in, very impressive.
Awesome as expected. Several sections sound even better than I expected, although some turned out kinda iffy. - Caged does sound unclear, but I think that's actually fine. The note shifts are barely perceptible, but it sounds similar enough to the original to be fine. - Didn't expect Cathedral to be as heavy as it turned out. I actually love it, though. - Acoustic Ivory is kinda out of left field, too. It's actually not bad at all, though. Break My Ivory is awesome. - Thieves is probably my favorite section here. The drum riff works wonders here. Thieves B sounds surprisingly accurate, too. - Conspiracy... the drums are way too heavy here. They really distract from one of the best riffs in the song. Same with Thrice A. - Conversely, Genocide and Murderous Solo could've been heavier drums-wise. They're the climactic sections of the solo, after all. Still pretty good though. Fantastic job, HalfDuck/DigitalSquirrel. And ExileLord. Duh.
KyleLee PhoenixTX in terms of how rake tapping is done on the controller, that effect would only be useful for helping sustain or pluck a note while tapping. I think this form of rake tapping is more based on the shape of the rake, using 3 or 4 fingers per hand to tap.

Awesome as expected. Several sections sound even better than I expected, although some turned out kinda iffy.
- Caged does sound unclear, but I think that's actually fine. The note shifts are barely perceptible, but it sounds similar enough to the original to be fine.
- Didn't expect Cathedral to be as heavy as it turned out. I actually love it, though.
- Acoustic Ivory is kinda out of left field, too. It's actually not bad at all, though. Break My Ivory is awesome.
- Thieves is probably my favorite section here. The drum riff works wonders here. Thieves B sounds surprisingly accurate, too.
- Conspiracy... the drums are way too heavy here. They really distract from one of the best riffs in the song. Same with Thrice A.
- Conversely, Genocide and Murderous Solo could've been heavier drums-wise. They're the climactic sections of the solo, after all. Still pretty good though.

in terms of how rake tapping is done on the controller, that effect would only be useful for helping sustain or pluck a note while tapping.
I think this form of rake tapping is more based on the shape of the rake, using 3 or 4 fingers per hand to tap.
So much more impressive than an FC could ever be.
