  • That I didn't get snowfall was not my only problem. My common gear was not enough for one of my photos, as well. Landscape photographers need to be flexible to get great photos. I'm more than happy that I managed to get some stunning images in the end.

Great video Christian and some wonderful images in the snow. I’m envious of the cool you’re in to be honest. I was sitting here watching your video in 34 degree heat. The last composition was so beautiful, well done. Thanks for sharing the adventure out my friend 👍🙏

Hi Adrian, thank you so much! I think we always like to have that, we don't have at the moment, I know this so well :) I could imagine to have 34 degree right now - at least when I'd be straight at the beach :)
      Enjoy your summer Sunday,
      Christian

part of the way to get great photos, something that you are truly a 'Maestro' at...
    living in Salkammergut!
Well, ok, that's just part of it. ;-)
but we can see that you work hard, think a lot, and keep on learning (and teaching!)

Hi Karhu, oh yes - living straight at a beautiful place is definitely an advantage :)
      Nice greetings,
      Christian

Christian, I (if anyone care..) don't find anything wrong with making beautiful images, quickly...making a great image by seeing the shot 'happen' in changing light, changing weather.

There is nothing wrong with that, Karhu. In art there are so many different starting points and ways possible, which is fantastic. I personally just prefer to spend more time with creating my compositions. But from time to time, of course, it is also really enjoyable to take multiple shots in short time, as I did last week :)
      Nice greetings,
      Christian

Hallo Erich, vielen lieben Dank!
      Christian

Hallo Chris, vielen lieben Dank! Ja, absolut - der Spot ist traumhaft und du hast ihn natürlich beim anderen Video bereits völlig richtig erkannt :)
Auch einen schönen 4. Advent zurück aus dem Salzkammergut,

Amazing conditions. I hope we will get some of your snow in our area this year. A couple of realy nice shots. I'm not sure about those portrait once. I think the scenery was realy great but with this huge foreground element it got a little bit of a busy scene. It's a matter of taste ofcourse but I'm wondering if you took some simified scenes also with 1 clear focal point. That last horizontal shot was the best in my opinion. The foreground realy added dept there without distracting the image to much. Wish I could have been there with you what an area! Grt guidk

Hi Guido, there are different types of architectures of how to build up a composition, especially with ultra-wide angle lenses. I will consider that in one of my upcoming videos :) For me the compositions worked well, but in my experience, ultra-wide is not everyones cup of tea. Same as photographers who prefer ultra-wide angles often do hard to get friend with compositions with extremely long lenses. I have to say, I like all the diversity in photography, from extreme short, over normal lengths up to tele and super tele - with different sort of compositional architecture :)
Thanks a lot for your thoughts and Merry Christmas,
      Christian

if the Sony that you have is mirrorless (i habe keine Ahnung über Sony), i was just watching a video by a guy who is happily using Canon TS17 and TS24, on a Sony camera, with an adapter that allows electronic aperture control, and gets super results...imagine how nice to have huge DOF, without stacking, without worrying about moving objects, or camera. and, you can use the TS lenses with 1.4x converter, as well, so the 17 would give you a TS24, or a TS24 gives a TS34 !
ok, enough with the TS, but you seem to do so many images that need so much DOF, and you can get DOF without wide lens distortion, and also get shift to correct verticals, in-camera, without 'wasting pixels' correcting in LR or PS.,.

Hi Karhu, I have to say, like the idea of tilt shift lenses though, but I would need a tile shift zoom lens, as I prefer to use zoom lenses. Especially for wide angle photography this offers a huge advantage and so I decide for zoom lenses over tilt shift lenses. I don't have the biggest problem with depth of field, by the way. There will come a video about wide angle photography in some weeks :)
Anyway, thank you for your idea!
      Have a great weekend,
      Christian

How about tropical country when bad light and weather.? Have you try?

    • @christian.irmler
      @christian.irmler  Рік тому

Hi @albaharprimandhita8202, due to my company I'm unfortunately not able to do bigger trips, I'm happy to be able to travel around Europe with my van :)
But if I would try to photograph in tropic countries, I would think about atmospheric conditions, humidity and what it does with the light. And trying to use that behaviour to my advantage.
I hope this helps, nice greetings,
      Christian
