Great job John, one of the best explanations of the entire lineup with a lot of golden nuggets of information around some of the nuances that give each their unique character. Much appreciated.
On my 2nd Bass Cat PII, I call it the Pocket Rocket! I can keep up with most 20 footers with 250's all day. My 21 is simply an outstanding boat. I constantly hear gripes about the cost of new boats, Not all of us need 5 12" graphs, and all the other stuff the pro's use. Big difference between want and need. If you stick with what you need you may even have some money to fish.
@@JohnCrews Thanks! I ordered mine with a Bravo FS 25P, but always buy a second and different prop. Waiting to see my numbers after break in. I carry very little in the front compartments, and have down sized to one graph, so I am hoping I get good natural bow lift.
Glad it helped! Best advise right now is to talk to our sales team or another good dealer near you and see about getting one on order. We are a very large dealership and aren't getting boats in for stock. They're all sold before they get here.
If you're shopping for new, you should be struggling to find much of any boat. Most boats are coming in pre-sold and don't ever make it to the internet. Best advice is to work with our Sales Team or your local dealer to see about reserving exactly what you want. Good luck though!
great information. I am considering a BC. Looking at a Pantera Classic. You state it is wider than the P2 but specs say 90" beam for the classic and 93 on the P2. Still a terrific review and just what I needed.
The Pantera Classic carries the beam further forward than the P2. Makes the front deck on the classic a good bit bigger than the P2. “I think” this explains why the P2 is slightly quicker and more nimble than the Classic.
I’ve had one talon installed on the right side and was wanting to get one on the other side but doesn’t look doable. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated!
@@BucksIsland hey there and thanks a lot! I got a talon installed on the starboard and wanted to see if it was possible or not... I’m pretty sure it would make the ladder useless. Just pointing this out for future interested buyers too.
Interesting he says Pantera classic not that fast when people all the time that own them say they get 72-74 with a good set-up and I've heard that guy's flashing 200 sho's getting crazy fast
Thanks for the comment. He seemed to be mainly focused on it not being as sporty as the Pantera II. As for flashed stuff, that's a hard comparison discussion to have given all the other variables that are likely at play. Any Bass Cats seem to be pretty fast when generally compared to similar boats of other brands.
That dude is an asset to the brand.
Love the bass cat family
Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback... you are not wrong! But we don't mind guys buying 4 graphs either! LOL.
What prop are you running, and are you pleased with it?

@@JohnCrews Thats exactly what I am running, I ran the same on my 2011 PII. This prop on the 4 stroke = BEAST!
What is the small bungee by the front bow depthfinder for? I have the 2023 Pantera classic.
Well this is what I needed.. now to keep shopping till I find the right lynx or caracal

My favorite boat of all time. Shopping for a lynx but finding my colors is kinda hard

What colors are you looking for?
@@bobsmith1841 I'd prefer a boat that is prodomantly blue or silver
I've owned 7 Cats the last one a 1992 Sabre I bought 23 years ago I want to go bigger but just can not let it go 😁 I love that boat

that makes great sense. Thanks for the explanation@@charleskemp1256
CAN WE COME BACK AND DO THIS AGAIN FOR THE HYBRID 203 ? used to be CHAMPION HULL ?
What about the Phelix?
The 21 Cougar does have a adjustable foot pedal now. The top cap got several modifications in 21.
I have the Pantera classic. The dealer I brought it from told me he had 7 orders for them.
Top speed on that erya?

The 2021 Cougar now has the block in the front to move the trolling motor pedal and also has 2 front sockets. @@commentwars6693
Really depends on the way it is rigged and altitude. Anywhere from 73 to 82. Upper 70s is common.
Margay vs Ranger 175 series would like a comparison
Not been in a 175 or I would give my 2 cents
John, can a talon be installed on a Pantera 2 Special on the port side that has the ladder? Or, does the ladder have to be removed?
I believe the Talon (or Power Pole) bracket is mounted to the jack plate so it should be clear of the ladder.
@@JohnCrews then it would make the ladder useless. That is, if the talon mount bracket off jack plate even gave enough clearance.

The best thing to do is work with your dealer on options. We can bring this question up on our Tech Tuesday and see what our Senior Tech has to say.

Just enjoying the beautiful spring weather too! Glad we didn't get dive bombed! LOL
How fast will the Sabre FTD SP go with the 175?

The P2 is faster than the P Classic when comparably rigged. I didn't say the Classic was slow. LOL
I have a p4 with 200 it does 70 on clean water
First to comment, do I get a big discount now😂. Nice insight on basscats 👍
No love for the 203 Hybrid?
Sorry!
He had the Panteras specs mixed up for sure. Classic is longer and narrow and the P2 is shorter and wider
Who’s idea was it to name it a “marGAY” 😂
