Being from the Orlando area I have been to Lake X. Went there with a friend to test Mercury 2.5 Drags on Allison’s in the mid to late 1990’s. Awesome spot!
I tell people all the time you don’t drive a Basscat you pilot a BassCat. I’m getting older now days so I don’t drive hard any more, 55-60 gets me there quick enough. I still love my Puma!

That was my first engine. A '78 Evinrude. Still have it. Much better fuel consumption and I can carry it around myself :)
Disappointment here....wanted to see performance specs of the set-up and hear that motor at boat level, low rpms up through the range to max rpm.

I don't think any tournament organization will ever " ok" a 400 hp engine but who knows.
How do you get insurance on it? My carrier told me not to think about a 300 hp for my Allison...
Knowing you don't have an Allison, and as long as HP doesn't go over the recommended for the hull, insurance doesn't care. They won't tell you not to put something on...
And it doesn't stop at the 400R. You can order it with a 450R.
Why? Alot of tournament boats around here have a 350 and 400s are becoming more and more popular in the walleye world.
Most of the highest level events still have a 250HP cap, however the majority of customers that are buying Jags with 300-500HP are not your typical die hard tournament angler's. The ones that are usually have another rig with a 250.

Love bass cats but that’s too much motor for a fishing boat. Will be like how fast snowmobiles are now and people buying them that don’t really know how to drive them safely. My dream boat has always been a bass cat!
Bull, there is no such thing as to much hp.
I have a P2 with a 200 HP and it is scary fast. That thing is just nuts.
Not only that its dangerous. They run these on public waterways. Anything that fast needs to be in a controlled enviornment away from the innocent public.
