    What do you think is the best engineering role in the navy?
    What role allows you to progress fastest and earn the highest income?
    What role will be best for someone who doesnt plan to stay permanently, (Example: AET earns £20k+ in the navy but earns £30k+ outside the navy with what hes learnt) is there other roles like this?
    What would your advice be to someone looking to apply in 2022?
    Thank you for reading, love your videos!

    Hey mate, how are you? I’ve just recently finished my DAA. I was hoping to pass to become an Aircraft technician, but it may be out of my reach 😅. I did however get some other options. One of those was warfare specialist, that sounds the most interesting to me compared to the other options. I was wondering. Because you’re a weapons tech, and will work closely with them. How do those guys fair when it comes to progression, job satisfaction and how varied their position is?

      Also a separate question, do you personally think there is a bias against women in the navy, I've just heard of it but I kinda wasn't to know what to expect.

      I have a whole UA-cam playing on my channel regarding the recruitment process for you to check out..(I was 15 at the time). The navy in general is very equal and non discriminatory. The only real difference is the females have a different goal to reach for their fitness tests....as far as I am aware that's about it!

    Do you have any idea of what work officers do when they’re based at shore? Also, I’ve heard claims about poor relationships between officers and other ratings (classism and elitism etc). Has this been something that you’ve experienced? One more question: would you say that naval personnel are supported in terms of mental health etc within the navy? I can imagine the emotional strain of leaving loved ones and also suffering from less of a work-life-balance must take its toll on some more than others. Thanks!

    My 16 year old daughter passed her prnc this week and will start her basic training in early Jan. I'm really stressing about her doing this over the coldest months. I see you did your training in winter too. Did you still do the overnight Dartmoor trip and all outdoor activities even during severe weather? Do you get any downtime during basic training like at weekends etc and how often will she be able to call home as at HMS Sultan it was only 30 mins per day that she had her phone? Also are we able to post stuff to her at Raleigh? Loving your videos and it's been great following you on your journey. I hope my daughter's experience will be as successful as yours has been.

    • @CallumFrogley
      @CallumFrogley  2 роки тому +1

      Hello and thank you for your kind words,
      Your daughter will have the opportunity to use her phone either at break times through the day and at the end of day after all instruction. There may be periods where the class could have a phone ban if their devices are distracting them from learning. Weekends in Phase 1 can vary from busy to more relaxed, Sundays are usually the more free day after the church services which all trainees attend in the morning (good time to warm up the vocal chords with some songs of praise). We did do most of our exercises in poor weather conditions but the instructors will risk assess all exercises before they start and it has been known for some activities to be cancelled due to dangerous conditions. You will be able to post stuff to her at Raleigh and you daughter can inform you how to do so when she arrives. I hope everything goes well with her process as I'm sure it will!!

      @CallumFrogley  11 місяців тому +1

      @dannyr6040 so for question 1 I am going to have to hand it to the community as the times have changed massively since I joined.
      Question 2: yes there are loads of opportunities to get on board any of those courses, you just have to ask your divisional chain and they should be able to help you.
      Question 3: I love the navy as a job and a lifestyle, its shown me areas in the world of never think of going and given me so many qualifications that I would have never thought of pursuing...but each to their own opinion as always :)

    In my practicing for my RT I'm getting around 50-60% on each subject area, is this good or bad? Once I've had my laser eye surgery, I plan on applying for the CIS role.
    I'll indeed have a year from the surgery to focus on fitness and preparation for my initial tests, such as the RT.
    Also, should I be concerned about sitting my Colour Perception examination as Im colour blind but I'm confident I'll be able to do the trade test with ease or even get myself a CP3.
    This will be my last chance to apply so I'm making sure all bases are covered which might hinder my acceptance into the RN.
    Thanks!

    • @CallumFrogley
      @CallumFrogley  2 роки тому

      With regards to your RT, practise makes perfect and it sounds like you will have plenty of time to achieve better results if that is what you wish...unfortunately I cannot offer any guidance with regards to colour blindness as I haven't experienced it myself and am not qualified to comment but I do have many friends with different levels of colour blindness with the job so there is definitely a possibility of you being fine 🙂

      As far as I'm aware, you have to enter the water by stepping off a 5m dive board. You must also tread water for around 2 minutes then complete 2 lengths without touching the floor. This is all in overalls. As long as you can do this then you should be fine.

You may be a heighten stated of readiness which could be 12 on 12 off or 6 on 6 off. Most likely you will be keeping watches at the start of your career especially at sea which usually consists of two 4 hour periods during the day...you may then have a day off or the periods could change depending on the manning of your department (the more people you have the less watches you will hold)
