I’d argue he’s one of Cornly’s best He’s quick to adapt to the play’s issues, and unlike most of the other actors, actually gets the exact reactions he wants out of the audience. Chris and Robert are too uptight and try one up-ing the other, often arguing on stage over du The smallest things, Jonathan is barely on set and Dennis is…Dennis. Max is honestly the only male actor in the troop who can work with most of the other members without drama and can easily use his mistakes in the play
I love the Kitchen Sink Drama. Robert just spent a whole chunk of time calling some actors rubbish performers, and then Max immediately involves that group in his skit and has so much fun with them. It's such a sweet sentiment.
3:20 Max has endured a lot of sorrow. Being bullied for not being a good actor in Peter Pan. Who knows in the cornley drama universe how much Max has endured. The tears came natural for him. Jokes aside. Love him!
Considering how he manages to pull off blasting Robert in chess while speed running his lines, I think he’s far more clever than folks give him credit for. He likes bewildering Robert and irritating Chris. Just two different styles of calculated messing with them for a reaction. Also, I’m not sure humans can put out that many tears in that short of a time frame 😂
@@guyjackson132 I remember she mentioned that she would always laugh or come close to breaking character during the “give me the swooooord” bit from Peter Pan Goes Wrong (although can you blame her?)
1:58 - 2:43 - You can just tell Chris is resisting the urge to run Max through with his sword (he may have relegated Robert to an extra, but he still has Max's mugging to contend with).
@@Diogo503 they were dating because they appeared together in the "goes wrong along with me" for season 1, but for the ones released after that they weren't together, so they may have split up, which is a shame
You bet she can. In Peter Pan she almost knocked Jonathon off his feet when she caught him cheating on her with Annie. And in Christmas Carol she hit Derek Jacoby with a goose when he had Max in a headlock.
The funny thing is that Max is actually a great actor with a brilliant range. He’s just a bit of a joker.
I’d argue he’s one of Cornly’s best

on the wikipedia page, it descibes max as "occasionally good actor"
@@chandlerwright5460 the main problem with him he's too much focused on the crowd reaction
And for all his grinning, there's only one time - in "The Most Lamentable" - where he corpses while trolling Chris.
Max is one of the few who knows which drama group he's in 😅
I love the backstory that Max’s aunt runs the BBC, so Chris can’t fire him no matter how much he goofs off
I love it too! ❤️
2:33 honestly this is the 1st time I've actually seen Henry Shields (Chris) physically fighting not to crack a smile at Max's shenanigans.
Also, Dave/Max was actually laughing because of how ridiculous this scene was
Believe it or not, Henry was actually getting mad at Max

I'd never notied that - it's all the "sub-actors"!
@@norbitonflyer5625 except Chris lol
He even involved Jonathan, even though Jonathan was an ass to him in Peter Pan
It shows how Max is incredibly wholesome and actually loves the craft, he is not egotistical like Chris or Robert.
@@marksharp3185max is sweet ❤️
You can just see Chris seething with quiet rage every time he has to deal with this man's shenanigans
Chris wants to absolutely murder max and dennis every show 😂😂
@@NolanB91 And Robert. Don't forget Robert.
Max is my absolute favorite he’s just so innocent and sweet 🥺
1:40 the steadily rising fury on Chris' face here.
It's almost palpable! Henry Shields is a lesson in fantastic facial expression usage!
Max's face at 2:33 is everything
Max knows it'll all end in disaster anyway, so he just has fun until it does.
WHAT A PALAVER

Chris: your an idiot
*Max boops Chris's nose
Max: zoo
2:53, his adorable ness is infectious

The way he grins tell me he has way too much fun in these skits
I don’t know why but the bit with the cloggs makes me laugh so much. Max is just such a sweetheart.
Max laughs at the audience the same way that Jimmy Fallon does, except Max is also otherwise a good performer 😃
1:19 Bryony laughing 😂😂
Charlie is usually the one who has trouble keeping a straight face. On rare occasions...Nancy.
Mind you...I'm not complaining! I love all the actors! :)

I love how Max keeps breaking the fourth wall.

Max is easily my second favorite character in this troupe, after Dennis.
I totally agree. Dennis, then Max.
Max is my absolute favorite.
4:41 I can't 😂
My favorite human!
This in increases my love for him more (got to the original cast on the 11.06.22and was 3 rows from the front !)
Omg he’s such a ham, I love it!!!
Max’s Kitchen Sink Drama makes me hope that he and Annie leave the Polytechnic Society to become children show presenters 😁
Can't break up the troupe.

I wonder if Max and Sandra have really married in real life since she was the one who propose to Max in Christmas Carole Goes Wrong🤔.

I’m surprised there wasn’t much Max x Sandra in this show

Who’s next? I hope it’s Dennis, because he’s the 3rd creator of the show and I really need to know what his last name is.
His last name is Tyde! Dennis Tyde :)

This should be a highlighted comment.
Hilarious
You need to do the same thing for all the characters but for season 1
Max might need help.
I wonder if anybody can grab the chess game and see if it really is checkmate.
