- Wild Olives was started by husband & wife duo Winson and Gladys. They both quit their jobs to start up their first stall at the Changi Airport staff canteen, and have since relocated to Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre.
The journey hasn't always been easy - the pair talk to us about some of the challenges they face as a married couple working together, and how starting Wild Olives together has strengthened their marriage.

Been supporting Wild Olives since their days at the old T2 staff canteen - the amount of effort and love that goes to every plate of food cooked is remarkable (not to mention afforadable) even up till today. Hats off to the both of you!
I once waited 1.5h in queue for their food. It was totally worth it, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you to this wonderful couple for providing us with such delicious and affordable food!
Still remember the times I studied for O levels and ordered their chicken chop for lunch and dinner back in T2 staff canteen!
One of the best western food shops!
U eat non halal? Haram
Wild olives is fantastic. Since patronizing their stalls back when I was young religiously every Sunday with my family, to driving to pasir ris and queueing before they even open! Such a pleasure to sit and wait, knowing I get the same quality and quantity that they’ve been serving for 16 years. I even remember the times when Winson didn’t have such a following and had time to read books in between taking orders!
Your love for each other shines through. Being a hawker is a tough and thankless task, made all the more remarkable that the both of you are really the only ones running your stall. It is only thanks to people like you that our hawker heritage is still going and we can all continue to have affordable and delicious food. Love your food and have loved it since your T2 days. Keep going, both in your love for each other and in the amazing food that you put out.
Went to wild olives to eat before and very true to what the uncle said, he wasn't very people oriented and very stern at the cashier. Honestly, I got really scared of the uncle. 😂 So glad that I can see the gentle side of him in this video. Food was really good though!
Yup the food is good and really value for money. 👍🏻 however the waiting time is really Long (1 hour+), probably have to come during the non peek hours.
How their queue and order work is:
You queue, they take your order you wait for your food to be done, the next person behind you will then be able to order.
I understand it’s because it’s a 2 person team, and they cook with much love and care at their own pace. Was thinking maybe they could use the buzzer thingy, so people could place their orders and go back to sit. But that might end up stressing the couple even more as there might be tonnes of orders piled up.
Omg so this was the stall that I was eating at the T2 foodcourt when I was 6 years old.... good old days!
best western hawker in singapore hands down. will be a sad day when they close.
There you have it, "not confined by the Do's and Don't's"
That's key to exploring possibilities and deriving joy from it
It is always better to be your own boss. Many bosses you report to tend to be psychotic and unreasonable
This.. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I used to work at DFS in T2 and will say this brings back so many memories. Easily was the best food store in the staff canteen!
Excellent food from an even better couple. Proud to have them as a neighboring stall.
Just found this channel today. I love it!
love this! I always eat at the airport canteen when I was young.
Will surely try them when I get back to SG. Their love for each other resonates in their food👍
Love their food since the airport canteen days. Mushroom rice, herb potatoes, chicken chop and pasta. Yumi!!
regular customer here- will queue for 45 mins - 1hr in a HEARTbeat. 10/10
I used to patronise them when I was working at T2 Airport. Their food is nice . Better than Jack’s Place and Swensen.
damn, the presentation looks dope
Worth a try for my family. Can't wait to tell them about Wild Olives. More blessings on your happy partnership. It's admirable!
This segment is getting better than my fav food king. I believe this is my new fav now.

I will definitely go and support the couple, good foods how can without me.. but I heard the waiting line is very long, but I think it’s kinda worthwhile to wait, since the reviews are pretty high.

Open outlet in Jurong area 😬..
I used to make my family bring me there to eat their chicken chop and MUSHROOM RICEEE!!!!!
Pride of PASIR RIS CENTRAL HAWKER CENTRE (: The couple worked very very hard to attain the good business they have today, been 2 years, and there are still snaking long queues whenever they're open. Really hope as a customer and consumer, I sincerely hope they can do well and continue to operate here in my hood (:
Yes u are stern. But God is your food amazingly good.
Good for them!! Being married is not easy especially when they work together every single day. They don't have children, right?
solid life solid ideals.
Its really the most worth for the buck western food. Sad that they now don't have breaded chicken.
Their food is really good and value for money
muah
Question to the couple: What did you guys do during the 2 years break after leaving the Airport? Just curious.
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻❤️
the Steak is one of the Best i ever eat
👍👏
Food very nice but uncle can look abit fierce 🥺😬 better stay in queue until he ask you to walk forward to the counter 🤣 don’t go up yourself
😍👌🏻👍🏻
you should check out the mala store beside it 👍 best mala I've had
Did they have children?
Hi just a small suggestion for the chicken chop. Maybe you can start cooking the chicken chop skin side down, first to cut down on the oil use and you get a slightly crispy skin, which may taste slightly better? I'm not a good cook, but I do watch alot of cooking shows. And that's seems to be the way chefs/cooks, do to get more flavour.
Exactly my first thought when I watched them put non-skin side down first
Oh My Lord ? Fcuk urself kid
Oh My Lord ? A little feedback will help wild olives become better. Don’t be a jackass.
Maybe mention it to them in passing or send it their way. :)
Try theirs! It's really good their way too
Yes no to office politics....hate that. Shit!!
They show that Singaporeans need not be slaves to corporate world. But most cannot think out if the box. They base on being told what to do . Waiting for instructions and risk adverse. The biggest risk is to expect to be employed till your retirement and have no ability to be self employed. It's why most are unhappy with their work. They are working to grow business of others and can be retrenched . They get older everyday. Starting your own business , your hard work is purely for yourself.
Used to order their food at the staff canteen when I was working in Terminal 2 in one of the airport lounges.
