Just not mapped to use 100% of the fuel, loosing un burnt fuel out the back. A proper fuelling system plus a decent map will sort it.
scotty87us actually from what I’ve read diesels produce the most power at what they call the ‘smoke limit’. So when they’re smoking like mad they’re at their most efficient in terms of power output. You’ve only to look at tractor pulling videos to see how much those things smoke yet produce insane power.

@@El_Jefe_S3 2.0 tdi can easily pushed to 200hp with just a software remap, the 1.9tdi needs injector and turbo upgrade as well to do that, the 2.0 tdi thx to the common rail it is smoother running. THe pd 2.0 is not very reliable tough.

Actually very low. Carson emissions are directly related to miles per gallon, if this thing is getting 60mpg that means 3 x lower carbon emission then a s5 getting 20mpg

@@Sebastian-gj9tc unmodified car yes. But petrol car isn't harmful either, catalytic converters and DPFs are so good at cleaning gasses that the difference between petrol and diesel is pretty much same.
But if I removed these converters from the car, no matter what it runs, it will be harmful, no matter what. Of course it will be harmful in a long run.
Just look at how much fun they're having compared to the newer generation of cars. Awesome.
@Méliodas DK it's not at all about engine size though. It's all about how the car feels and engages you. Having a light, manual car with a non-linear power delivery and less grip FEELS fast and feels more fun. In my opinion of course.

Well we still produce way more CO2 (and other greenhouse gasses) than the Earth can safely handle. That's why there is the highest CO2 concentration in the atmosphere since 800,000 years ago. This car though is not even a 0,00001% of the emissions.

Hello from Portugal!! In my country this projects are very common, lots of 1.9 tdi's doing more than 300 BHP. Normally they get a lot of hate because of smoke, but these engines are amazing in what comes to power and reliability. Very nice video btw!

The smoke is not as poluted as we think the only time when a diesel polute more is furing the regeneration of the fap but in this case he dont have a fap so its in par with gazoline but smoky

I had a pd150 mapped to 200bhp and that was quick. This must be unreal. Cams made of chocolate though.
Same, sold it 6 months ago after camshaft went.
They sorted out the cam's uprated them
That's down to using non pd spec oil or not changing the oil frequently enough
@@alexhawes6690 No has nothing to do with that, it's because of the increased pressure on the camshaft due to he pump injectors being camshaft driven. Even people that always used right oil have the camshaft eaten away.

My 200 bhp toyo rolla gives me 7mpg wen i engage lift but it allows me keep up with cars that gt 350bhp
@@mathewwade1415 dsg helps a lot when cruising around. I did 24mpg on a 35 mile trip hardly touching the throttle so it isn't that bad. Just sinks when you plant it

It don't need to be that smokey. I have seen alot of high power diesel 's and some of them don't puff like this one.
My old Saab was Diesel (Z19DTH) around 300 horse and only dumped a puff of smoke on hard acceleration, also was the 2005 airflow version (Saab ran out of DPF's lol)...... Oh I miss that beast

After certain power leves on diesels you cannot make them smokeless.
Pd engines on 300hp region can be done to be smokeless.

De Sousa that’s quite normal on a proper tuned tdi car. If you don’t have enough fuel it can “dry” and you can say goodbye to a couple pistons.
