His scrambles with Khazmat were impressive to me even if he eventually tapped out. He has real talent.
I agree. How many other people were able to scramble like that against him? Khamzat literally used everything he had in that opening sequence, and if he didn't lock that choke in, he wouldn't have adequate energy left to protect himself on the feet afterwards. Crazy gamble that worked out in his favor imo.
Kevin Holland was going for a glove touch when Khamzat took him down
Absolutely. Khamzat didn't have the fatigue of the weight cut, faked a glove touch and got a fight against someone who was not prepared for a grappler. Kevin deserves all the respect for stepping in.
@@1daboi100 the worst possible matchup for him on a days notice. That's bmf shit,
I’m glad someone else thinks this, I thought I was the only one who thought he made a good account of himself that night on short notice, despite getting finished in rd 1. I saw a lot of potential for improvements.
Chandler, how are you not in the broadcasting booth yet?
When you mix in his professionalism, knowledge of the game & confidence he can be UFC's top broadcaster in no time..
He has been invited to DC and RC to make it DC, RC and MC! ANd he's done a phenomenal job. It's a no brainer that MC has a spot in broadcast FOR SURE in the UFC, For Sure.
Because he's all over the place every single time I've watched. He needs work.
@@MrMancreatedgodbro you’re a dud you have no validity to say whether or not he’s doing good you’re a couch potato kid
He will be for sure if he wants to be. I think right now he's focused on capping off his career with a win over Conor then maybe one more fight for a last title shot.
I wouldn't look at a 25-9 pro fighting record & think "well damn he has 9 losses" when winning 25 out of 34 pro fights is a 74% winning percentage which is essentially winning 3 out of every 4 fights he takes which is pretty damn impressive imo
Exactly what I was thinking recently, good record for being so active taking a lot of short notice fights
@@williamburke2429not to mention bro fights everybody
@@AnorexicSausauge exactly, idk if he says no, kinda cool and annoying at the same time seeing he doesn’t have aspirations to be champ but it’s like he is a fighter so to each their own
He lost his fist fight in the UFC, taking on Tiago Santos on short notice. And even Santos couldn't get him out of there. KH truly is one of the BMF out there. Will fight ANYONE across multiple weight classes, goes for the finish in every fight. Most of his losses were at 185 where we was wrestle f#cked by bigger guys. In any case, @170, with the improving wrestling, he really is a potential nightmare for many of the top guys, I totally agree!
I really hope he stays at 170 lbs. Hard for me to say as I'm not the one cutting, but he's a legit top 10 guy at welterweight and would be a tough fight for anyone in the top 5.
He’s not a bmf. You just like his personality. He has no notable wins. An old jacare means nothing.
Yeah shit was wild. Santos clearly won but Holland had him wobbled a couple times.
Don’t forget he had Marvin and Brunson rocked and shooting SCARED on him. All they could do was hold him down out of fear of his striking. Now with this recent performance… he can honestly make a legit title run.
Wigga please. Fear of his striking. And all he could do is sit and take a beating and act like he wasn’t fazed because he couldn’t cope mentally. As soon as he’s taken to deep waters that shuts gonna come back.
He needs to stay at 170, he can be champion at 170 not at 185.
His biggest problem has always been his maturity. He always had this “too cool to care” attitude and a severe short sightedness on his career. It’s always been extremely frustrating to watch when you know he can be so much better.
Sometimes certain people have to operate differently, and just hanging loose is how he has to fight, if he takes it too serious he might not enjoy it , he might not grow as a fighter if he doesn’t enjoy it, everyone has different mentalities
Good assessment. Michael chiesa his body was looking ripped but that boy didn't come to fight he should be contemplating retiring
Great stuff as always! love your channel and of course all your Walk On content.
Michael, gotta say (not for the first time) I love the channel. Love the style, the pace of delivery, the transparency/ honesty, the insider insights, the massively informed opinions, the logic behind your predictions, the confidence in your presentation yet humbleness at the same time, the sound quality (soooo important and you nailed it right out of the gate) and set design / lighting, the profiling output and the fact that you are still fighting and could be/should be/we hope are scheduled for a McGregor fight…. its all coming together ala Michael Bisping style (he also started when he was still competing) but date I say it you’ve reached this level so much sooner than it too him (if he’s there at all that is).
Anyway, we done again mate and even though I’ll be supporting McGregor in the competition between you too, as I live close to SBG in Dublin, I’ll also be supporting you and hoping that this channel will explodes in popularity and success.
Would love to see you begin to have some guests on or via Skype feed like Ariel. But whatever about that… keep pumping out more and more content as you are and the growth will be all but guaranteed given the above mentioned points and success will be undeniable!
Nice! Kevin Holland is one of my favorites from a personality point of view. His striking is awesome and great to watch, but tactically can get one up'd. Shoring up those areas is going to make him really stay at the top of the pack. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Mike! Love hearing you talk about the sport.
Love the channel Mike, the way u break things down is second to none
Great breakdown Mike! I’ll see you at the top!!
Excellent breakdowns Mike
Great video mike🙏🏽 hope you had a good day
Thanks Michael! 👍👍👍
amazing fight card! gonna be hard to top that
channel's great man
New subscriber ; didn't know you had podcast
I think you should do UFC event commentary, Mike. Nice analysis
Hey Mike, some feedback. Love the channel.
One thing I keep noticing is the camera angle is slightly different every episode. For example on your latest TUF reaction the monitor isn’t fully in view but in this video it is.
Maybe that’s what you’re going for. But just a heads up.
Cant wait for this dude to call fights one day
Great take.
Kevin Holland and Justin Gathje are two fighters that has that potential. If they really starts to mix the martial arts and fight smart, they would be a big problem.
Gaethje is the best striker at lightweight in my opinion. You’re right even if he became a small threat on the ground mixed with the way he’s fought in his last 2-3 bouts he could become champ
@@ianadams7135 Easily! He's strike is powerfull, if he fallows the opponent to the ground he could score a victory easily in a dizzy oponent, with a submission or a ground-and-pound! In the worst scenario he will score more point's and lose less brain cells hahaha'
And I have the feelling that he is desiring to grow and try out new things more then never.
@@ianadams7135 Kevin Holland, for example, did that, fallowed Chiesa to the ground and scored a submission, who would imagine that? In his fight agains Wonderboy he knockdown him and asked to Wonderboy stand up and fight. Im glad that he did that, because that fight was exceptional, but could go in an entire direction otherway.
I love Gathje, and wasn't he like a D1 wrestler in college? If he learns how to control his stamina he will be a huge problem
Keep it up champ
Holland is BMF of his division. He deserves to be in the top 5, can easily beat the likes of Strickland. I want to watch Kevin vs Izzy
Kevin Holland is my favorite fighter and it makes me so happy he's getting recognition and top fighters such as yourself are actually seeing the potential in this man!
@ Michael: Thank you, I always enjoy watching your breakdowns.
I 100% agree conscerning Holland at 170. He could start his title run against Shavkat as a replacement for Kelvin. And adding another fether in his cap for his BMF ambitions.
I won't be surprised.
Kevin Hollangomdov 😂😂🎉
Great job Chandler, you're a great analyst
Hi man i want to tell you samthing you are the best
What’s great for fans watching and bad for opponents preparing is you just never know how Holland will finish. He has some very interesting finishes in the UFC
Probably my favourite personality in the ufc.
What a guy.
I agree. Everything was spot on. He just needs to lock in.
Holland is a real BMF for sure in my top 5 favorite fighters even though I’ve lost a lot of money betting on his fights😂
I think I’m the only one who has Chandler and Holland as my two favorite fighters by FAR
This is peak crossover for me
Not to mention his 5-fight streak was all in the SAME year... That's nuts
If my grandma had wheels she would have been a bike.
Got so much love for Michael chandler! Must be a truly amazing father at home.
Dude looks like he struggling in this video, cheers to good health my friend chandler!
Michael we’ll see you at the top
I like how active he is but wonder if that's going to stop him competing with the top guys who fight twice a year.
That's one of the greatest unsolved questions
Kevin Holland is a good journeyman, but I don't think he will ever be a champion!
@@roythousand13I don’t think he will be champion either but if he keeps the current pace, I could see him getting a title shot.
@@roythousand13 I bet a few people thought that about Edwards
@luckensbriseu8840 ,I hope Kevin Holland gets a title shot! Maybe he might surprise us!
He had Michael reacting to every faint,
Chandler do you put that down to ring rust? ✌️MC
He wasn’t a problem for Zatdaddy.
You're a class act Chandler. Too nice though. Go get that bag.
I’d love to see you and chael have a conversation.
You got a soothing voice mate. Could read the alphabet an people would listen. See you at the top
Holland can definitely be a future champ at 170. He’s a stud on the feet already, wrestling/sub game is getting better. I’d say give him another year of training and continuing to improve and I can see him winning the belt
I agree if you look most of the top fighters are guys in their mid to late 30s, I’m 39 and can tell you just based off having more knowledge and wisdom that as a soldier I’m more lethal now than my 20s. The body can’t take the beating as much but as far as skill and ability no question my self today would kick my 25 year old butt.
He almost got away from Khamzat, if he had of Khamzat would have had a problem, I think he needs to train with Izzy to learn to use his range a bit better, keep up with wrestling/grappling, he could be champ within a few years.
the only fight i’ve seen where he didn’t appear to have the advantage on the feet was against wonderboy(no shame in that) and even in that fight he had wonderboy hurt bad multiple times
His fight with wonderboy was class would love to see it again with the wrestling adjustments
I think if he didn't refuse to grapple him, he would have submitted him.
@RekreaturA keep dreaming, bro got lit up so bad he shot for a takedown and proceeded to get lit up even more. Love Kevin but there's levels and wonderboy clearly showed it
@@RekreaturAif he he didn’t break his hand in round one I think he would have kod him
Holland is definitely a character. He 100% has the potential to be a star if he puts a few big time wins together
Crazy to think he gave khamzat such a good scramble and khamzat had to readjust like 3x’s jus to finish him
Bro YOU need to add wrestling
I believe that if Kevin Holland really wants to have the bmf title he has to raise his cosmos to the limit, he has to improve The more impressive performances he has the better it will be for him. Because nowadays everyone makes fun of this bmf title but I really believe that one day this belt will be disputed in all categories and will be taken seriously, If Kevin Holland proves he's a tough opponent to beat and remains an exciting fighter Who knows if the UFC won't fight for the bmf belt again at welterweight or middleweight?
You should do a show with Dan Hardy!! You guys would be great together.
Jiu-jitsu Kevin Holland is undefeatead.
If Kevin had the discipline to stay at 170 hed be one of the most dangerous guys in the division. Still tough with Usman Colby & Chimaev around tho
I hope he stays at 170 he is one of my favorite fighters
W video
The dude is a serious problem if he can keep it standing. Just don't see him being able to versus the Khamzats of the world. Would Love to be wrong though, so here's hoping he's got wrestling talent.
LOVE HOLLAND
Why don't you train him? Maybe he'll have something to teach you as well.
Kevin had dc training him at AKA Kevin gave up lol
chandler is on point again
My my, looks who's talking Chandler, maybe if you did the same thing you'd be the champion now 😂
wonderboy is the real problem. the nmf didnt shoot or level change or clinch but holland couldnt shit
for a supposed bjj specialist chiesa sure gets tapped by front chokes a lot
Vettori is championship level?
Iron mike
Kevin is must watch, that dude has all the talent in the world. Throw in some wrestling and dont stop talking shit brother.
Holland has always been a problem. He doesn’t want to “crotch sniff”, he wants to perform. He wants to strike because he knows every casual fan wants to see that. He gets it now…
Yeah. Travis lutter thinks the world of his student. It seems to be an issue for people with natural talent. Being serious I mean. Your talent carries you so far, that you get by without putting your all into whatever you're doing. I think he can make a title run too. If he really took every part of his career super seriously.
Michael, I need to address the problem with Holland. He jokes around too much and doesn't train hard enough. He should be on another level and should be the champion. He needs to become more complete and discipline. He's got the skills to be a champion......he literally frustrates me. I also think he becomes champ at 170 if he can cut.
How good is khamzat chimaev???
is kevin holland a weight bully?
Huh
Yes! Most UFC fighters are weight bullies!
Lmaoo khamzat disagrees
Kev can give WW some real problems, he's no 185r tho he shouldn't fight there anymore.
All the fight except 1 he had before the UFC he lost because it was short notice
Holland vs Volkanovski who's wit me
In all fairness chiesa looked not good at all unfortunately, looked a little lost. He looked like hell against khamzat, khamzat and burns was super even
Get ready to fight him because u ain’t fighting Conner
Kevin Holland needs to stay at 185 and he definitely ranked now. Makes Khazmat even more impressive. Future 170, 185 and 205 champ
Surely you mean stay at 170, right?
@@TheAbsoluteSir oh shi, mb yeah you right lmao I can't believe I said 185 haha I made a mistake
So holland beats chiesa with a darce choke and now he's really good? Chiesa hasn't won since 2021, 0-3. He's a gatekeeper at best, will never be at the top of a division. 6:28 ...lost to top level competition in the ufc, yeah, exactly.
Chandler. We want to see you fight! And if you continue to wait on conor, that guy will wash you out of the ufc waiting. Hes not coming back and he clearly doesnt want to fight. I think its time to move on
We want you to finish Conor!
“Advancements” 💉 💊
Really? If Holland adds wrestling? You act like that's a small feat. If connor adds wrestling you have no shot either.
Agree to disagree. 170 lbs at 6’3 is anorexic.
I hope Kevin holland fights Neil magny next.
Chandler you should adopt holland and bring him up the way you do the others🤣
Can’t wait for chandler to KO Islam
Conor is ducking you.
Chandler ok fighter long as he doesn't wrestle. But why would Connor fight Chandler. If Chandler lost ever fight in ufc why would Connor fight Chandler. Just letting fans no makes no sense for connor. Cause if connor beats chandler means nothing. Chandler lost to ever top fighter accept for hooker. Hooker done so letting fans no connor not fighting Chandler so don't be pissed. Makes no sense
He’s a gatekeeper at best. His wrestling did not improve just because he beat Chiesa with a sub. Chiesa even joke about get darche choke on a podcast before the fight. Like chill man, he beat someone on a losing streak. Crack the top 5 in either 170-185 before saying he’s a problem
You must be a pro fighter with years of experience.
@@koddaestates2621most likely, otherwise he would just sound stupid.
@@koddaestates2621 same with you. Fans can’t have an opinion also? Gtfo
@@wrenandrews3782 so you agree with Chandler? Holland a problem because he beat Chiesa? Lol y’all forget this dude asking for wrestling advice during rounds? Y’all know whose in top 5 in 170? Thompson who beat him recently. Usman and Covington who would maul him on the ground. So if you can’t beat them then that makes you a outside gatekeeper in the 170 and he couldn’t even get to the title shot at 185 so yeah definition of a gatekeeper.
Chandler says if about 20 times in this video when talking about Kevin’s wrestling, you are making yourself sound silly. Yes I agree that if Kevin’s wrestling is good enough to hold up against the guys at 170 he will be a problem.
Michael “Low fight IQ” Chandler back at it.
He has a great fight IQ, he just doesn't use it in his fights lol.
@@RekreaturA great response 😂
Chandler has a great iq he just loves to entertain us
Holland is a gate keeper call it like it is ! He’s game af but can’t beat elite people
He absolutely can beat elite people
@@wrenandrews3782 example?
i feel like kevin holland is the tony ferguson 2.0 but there is only one tony
Now that your fight with Conor is off, you should fight Holland at 170...
