24:07 "Perhaps if Lootaz were able to take other weapons, maybe it'd be interesting to see how they'd play out." Well, considering they're *Lootaz*, you'd think they could take _any_ handheld weapon in the whole game so long as it was orkified enough. But nope, GW decided they should have one specific unique weapon.
I don't think that the Morkanaut should be so much lower than the Gorkanaut. The Morkanaut has a very good main gun, and it is great for removing vehicles from afar, when getting closer is not an opption. Its is hard, protects your other units and draws fire for a relatively moderate pointcost. It can do a lot of work in a Deathskull list. The Gorkanaut on the other hand, has a lot of problems, when he gets his melee denyied by screens. the Skorcha can't do anything, when he tellyports onto the field and the main gun is not that great performing. You are relying on getting the charge after the tellyport and that is a tat to risky for me, for such a huge model. He is a melee beast though, no doubt. I think both are good and have there respective places. I just want to shine a bit of light on the poor morkanaut.
Bonebreaka' is an insane asset if you give it a Red Rolla', or even a Forktress. Makes the thing so damn tank! If you put a Mek inside it, he can even just get out and heal the bastard back up! Honestly, it's such a joy.
This video may be incredibly aged (as all rules videos must eventually become) but I still come back to it from time to time just because I enjoy the way you talk about the units.
Thank you for this codex review, great work! The star rating and unit per unit analysis is a very useful format. I would be interested to know what you would pick depending on who you are playing against...
I personally find Bikes are the first to be removed in a list by my opponents as it can dish out so many shots especially with that even more dakka stratagem! :o
They can be really scary when you dish out the shots then charge them in straight away. I had them rip through almost an entire squad of thunder wolf cavalry once. I wish they were slightly cheaper so they could be a good competitive unit, because chassis for a good unit is there.
Imho megatrakk scrapjet is the best buggie. It’s melee ability is fluff wise very orky and can be handy. The amount of shots it gets is good and it can target both heavy armored enemy’s as infantry. Definitely a 4 star unit, but probably this video was made before the point drop.
Flying eadbutt on the burna bomber does 150-200 points of damage every time I fight it. Clearing my screens and hurting my drones or marines. That’s a massive turn 1. It does give up first strike though.
With all the new rules for ghazghkull I feel like he would be around 4 stars now because he is even more deadly and tanky and doesn't need to be with goffs, which is nice.
There’s one problem: He isn’t effected by any of his own buffs, namely advance and charge. He can’t get that turn 2 charge that’s so important to the Ork Army. And due to being a Monster, he can’t be effected by most buffs in the army. Hell, only 3 strategems can effect him
@@matt6273 That is true. I think the worst part is cannot be effected by DA JUMP, which would help him get into melee easier. I guess he's one of those units that you can throw in and have him wreck stuff if you're willing to spend the points.
TheSpookyMage Eh. But with the new strategem, a generic Warboss with Killa Klaw, Bigkilla Boss, and Might is Right can deal more damage AND move around faster than him.
Almost a year later, a new edition of WH40K is being released, Ghazghkull Thraka got a big update, we've witnessed the glorious return of Makari, it'll be interesting to see what changes to this list there'll be once the dust settles.
I had to watch this again when I consider making an ork army. I googled their rules and stats and everything and most of them seem near useless. Maybe I'm missing something.
I disagree with a couple things but for the most part, I would say it's accurate. I would say characters and planes are good, it's just they're hard to use.
I have an issue with the Burna / Blitza-Bommer You say they're both bad, fair enough. But to be nit-picky, the Blitza is better in almost every way than the Burna. The Blitza does Mortal Wounds with its bombs to up to 12 Infantry on 4+, plus, it can wound vehicles or monsters more effectively (3 dice each) also at 4+. The Burna however, only does Mortal Wounds on a 5+ to up to 10 models in a unit, improved to 4+ IF the unit is Infantry... So... it has literally no advantage with its bombs. It's far worse and far less versatile, which annoys me, as I don't see any good reason for this being the case. You can buy Skortcha Missiles for the Burna for extra cost, but they aren't very good. And the Burner explodes harder (on a 4+ dealing 3 mortal wounds). But wooptey doo. This has irked me since the codex but I feel alone in caring, since I'm the only person that runs Ork Airplanes for the fun of it..
In the context of WH40k, when you say "low profile", do you mean the unit's profile in the codex (i.e. their stats or whatever) is bad, or that it physically has a low profile due to being short? (which, on that note...doesn't profile mean the side of someone's face? How did it come to mean the height of someone?)
Im only getting back into warhammer after a few years.. what does it mean by "codex units"? where else are you getting the units from? is there more than one codex or something?
More shots doesn't make dakka dakka dakka better. You get an average 16% more shots regardless of the original total. If you have fewer more powerful shots you get fewer but still more powerful extra shots. Dakka dakka dakka is also barely a rule at all since you still have to hit with those shots which at bs5 results in barely more than 5% extra hits. In a competitive tournament the rule loses more games due to clocking out than it wins via 5% more firepower.
Sorry but you lost me at the Scrappajet. Cons 4+ Ws... It hits like a powerfist, see it as that, it is decent. unneccessary extra guns?!?!?!?!?! What? Extra guns is what makes this a really powerful unit! It can shread infantry, and vehicles alike... This is one of our best allround units compared to cost, especially now that it got 10 points cheaper. Deathskulls or Bad Moons (Deathskulls is better) and you have yourself a very capable "light tank".
I don't really agree. It costs way too much. It is a good unit on paper, and I think it is the best of all the buggies, but 100 points for a power claw on wheels is kind'a meh. I would use it in competitive play if it was 80.
I DEMAND AN UPDATE THEN AN ADDITIONAL VIDEO AFTER THE NEW RULEBOOK TO SEE IF ANYTHING WAS CHANGED OR ADDED DO THIS IN AN ORDERLY FASHION OR ELSE I WILL FROWN AT YOU
I don't mean to be rude, but you got the ranking of the Deffkopta pretty wrong. It's clearly a 1 star unit because the model itself looks like absolute garbage. It really needs a new design.
morkanouts "A worse gorkanout"? Are you mad? The only advantage you get of gorkanauts is more anti ligth infatry shoots (sure, cause in orks list we lack of that) and 2 WHOLE ATACKS... and morkanauts give you a huge kff aura, and some huge weapons. with deathskull / bad moons and custom shells, this thing is pretty good. So you are a little less killy in mele.. to actually do something in the shotting turn and cover a lot of units with kff. I think morkanauts are better than gorkanauts...
Pros:
Squigs
Absolute gold
Squigs, the true warbosses
squigs are love squigs are life
would love to see this video remade for the new point changes, legends, and FW models. Love it!
Even more with psychic awakening
NGL I thought the Mek Workshop was just terrain
Yes, me too :)
Well it is but you can buy it

They used to be able to take every weapon in a very very old codex. 4th edition I think? You could even have loota snipers.
Those were the days :(
background music is a tad loud
Well, orks.
Not loud enough for me.
To all the new people watching this, get what you think looks cool and what you'll enjoy painting, dont worry about a tier list
Thanks for the advice!
These as long with your other videos have been great! Thanks keep it up I hope to here more of your thoughts.
Would you mind making a new one of these after Saga of the Beast?

Imagine... Flash guit being 2 star, while in Dawn of War, tested and approved this day, they just tear everything.
Regunes yea the chance of u shooting them again is just so good
God I love Flash Gitz in Dawn of War. The Orks needed some good late-game shooting too, so thank The Nightbringer that Dark Crusade added them.
Retribution's Elite Mod also puts Flash Gitz into the game.
these are so much better than any 40k guides that I want to worship you as a chaos lord. slaneesh please
Thank you for this codex review, great work! The star rating and unit per unit analysis is a very useful format. I would be interested to know what you would pick depending on who you are playing against...
I'd love to see you do more of these
Looking forward for more! Perfect videos for new players
Stompah 5 stars
Reason? Lots of Dakka! It’s BIG and he’s STOMPY
As a Goffs main, I feel attacked that you put Goffs as Cons.
Yes me too
Same.
That slay the spire music caught me offguard
Very informative! Thanks for making these!!
Very interesting video, thank you very much for your work
Basically seems like the codex is 3 stars...
Not really, orks are at the moment one of the armies whit best map control in the entire game, just slightly bellow imperial guard.
OI WHAT DID U SAY BOUT MY BOIS!?
dat Dawn of War music bringing back mems
Time to make a new one

@@Grueman omg Yes! I couldn't agree more! Same with Bob bikers!
Can you make an update for 9th? Really liked this video.
I do hope you plan on more videos! I'd love to see it!

I love chucking mek gunz in a mekboy workshop
flash gitz for me have always been amazing for me ive had one ubit shoot again 4 times and wipe out half the board it was insane
Flying eadbutt on the burna bomber does 150-200 points of damage every time I fight it. Clearing my screens and hurting my drones or marines. That’s a massive turn 1. It does give up first strike though.
It's so good
How does this list change based on Chapter Approved 2019 and Legends rules?
CON:
Bad Ballistic skill
uhhh you do know what army you're talking about right?
Mek workshop I would say would become a 3 star because new kustom jobs are awesome

I'm not an orc player but I'm buying ghaz. It's just such a great model with awesome rules.
I'm just here to look at the models
New to 40k, and gonna be a ork player, so this helps tons.
I don’t care about whether a mini is “good” or “bad” I just watch these to see every mini In a codex lol
Best review ever :)
Thank you very much :)
"1: the Squig buggy 1*"
This aged like milk lol.
Bellissimo video! Sarebbe bello un video uguale anche per la 9°edizione
I had to watch this again when I consider making an ork army. I googled their rules and stats and everything and most of them seem near useless. Maybe I'm missing something.
I think the appeal of orks is the high percentage chance of hitting things with the overwhelming fire power
Much like orks in lore
Hi, what's the music used before the analisis of the nobz.
"-Unnecessary extra guns"
Zoggin' wat!?
Update for 9th or do you think waiting for a new codex is a better idea? Great vid
At 29:11 You mention the 'visuals allows for double the amount of shots' What is this?
I meant to say the Vigilus detachment. The Kustom Ammo stratagem allows a Dread Mob unit to shoot twice. Sorry the pronunciation wasn't great :/
Personally I think people use stomps is because it embodies the attitude of orks
Too much Dakka!? No such thing as too much Dakka. It help me sleep and helps me start my waaaaagh.
I would love to see some aos battletome reviews
The stomla is excellent rule size but the price keeps it down. I thought Katz would be a 3 star because I make them worknprettt well.
Love the music from original dues ex
what are 'vigilis rules' refered too with the big mek?
can any experienced ork players confirm or deny this tier list? I was surprised with a lot of the rankings but dont have enough experience to know
I disagree with a couple things but for the most part, I would say it's accurate. I would say characters and planes are good, it's just they're hard to use.
awesome video sir. appreciated the effort. im planning to sell my ultramarines for orks. im like the models .i already subscribed
Beamy Deff Gunz. Ork Lascannons. Did they ever exist?
Chapter approved update please
I wonder if Gueman has a different idea now that Ghazghull is now different than before?
Ghaz is good
could you do more of these
cool video but please tune the music lower next time, very stressful to listen to for me.

Forgeworld, additional books, datasheets from WD etc.
How much have the units shifted since 9th? This question goes for everyone in the comments.
Not much but I heard they got buffed and they're better in 9th ed. than 8th.
Hi does anyone know were to buy the war trucks for orks I can’t seem to find them

I would rate him really high as he can kill and survive just about anything. The only downside is he's kinda slow buts still good.
I wouldnt rate the mekboy workshop a 1 now that some rules for Saga of The Beast have been teased.
How can every army unit be too pricey? It should be impossible, shouldn't it)

ermmmm hello .. grot tanks...squiggoths….deff kotpas...
Unnecessary extra guns...
forgeworld?
Forgeworld units aren't allowed in a lot of competitions so I'm guessing that's why they're not being discussed here.
This has not aged well...
Big mek in mega armour 4 stars what the fuck
competitive warhammer 40k? wat? why?
