    As a Stompa Gork and Morkanaut player I can't tell you how pleased I feel being able to make them shoot on 4s and punch on 2s with a Mek! Also 2+ armor for the stompa when knights still have 3+ feels good in this edition of lower AP

    Also, am I the only one who really dislikes the beast snaggas? I hate the look, and I hate that GW keeps trying to shoehorn them into every list. And why the hell does a warboss riding a stupid squig have FOUR more toughness than Ghaz?

    Overlooked the fact that boyz are the only way to have a second leader tagging along with a warboss, which changes the utility of a quite a lot of other things. The warboss is particularly fond of having a banna nob along for two turns of being a melee threshing machine, but there's plenty of other viable options.

      Problem is, for the cost of the Banner Nob, you can just have 2 Warbosses.

      @@ginfizz5898 Which you can't put in the same unit. Spreading them out is viable, but then you have to pay for a second bodyguard unit, and probably a second transport. Boyz with double leaders are still an economical option when skimping on points - and their big unit size lets the support characters affect more models even if the models aren't the best. Boyz may not hit real hard and aren't very durable, but they're a lot better for a whole extra turn with a banna nob, considerably more durable with a KFF big mek or a painboy, and more mobile with some weird character sniping with a weirdboy.

    Major note that Gretchin are T5 in melee since the runtherds aren’t leaders and the rule lowering their toughness applies to ranged attacks only, thanks for the ork vid!

      @@relupoge82 I dont think so? Since u do attacks 1 at a time (RAW) and rolling all the attacks is just what most peeps do cos its faster and most of the time makes no difference. It just means that *Yes* u can allocate wounds to the T5 runtherd but that just means he will die first in the squad, and then any remaining attacks even from that shooting attack would go against the T2 grots. Same with how Makari's 2+ invuln can be used to protect ghazghkull by allocating wounds to him first

      Technically not true - you don't need to take wounds on the runthearder. The rule is when there is a difference in Toughness in the unit you take the highest value as the toughness of that unit. The reason it doesn't for Shooting is because it specifically says it in the index card.

    5:40 The Boomdakka Snazzwagon is there for its high-mobile accuracy debuff aura, not its firepower. Before anyone says it's useless because it requires you to be within 6" of the enemy/enemies being debuffed, you're using it wrong. That aura affects every attack, ranged and melee. You throw a close combat unit (or units - it's not hard to get 2 or even three things in position to exploit one buggy-bubble) into a fight after parking the buggy close enough that the enemy will be just within the 6" radius during the fight. You can also do it defensively against a melee attack by parking it just behind an infantry line that's holding an objective, where the enemy will be forced to come into the bubble to engage if they can't shoot the buggy off before charging.
    I've watched it used in several local games and while it's not hard to counter with decent shooting, the swing factor of having -1 WS in a key fight or two is big enough that this thing is at least mid-tier, and it might be higher if someone figures out a trickier use or has the right terrain to help keep it alive longer. It's also situationally useful for just tarpitting an otherwise-shooty objective holder, who really doesn't want to fall back and will have all their attacks debuffed while it's parked on them plinking away with big gunz never tire and grinding the odd victim under its wheels.
    The dragsta also offers uniquely good leader-sniping option in the army, which is arguably what you take it for now rather than just positioning tricks. At 85 points it's got a reasonable chance to one-shot many medium-durability characters, and might even get lucky and kill something tough in a pinch. Also comes with a rokkit launcha, which the army can never have enough of. Whether that's worth 85 points is going to depend on how bad you want to be able to scalpel leaders out of units, but it sure isn't overshadowed by any other ranged Precision unit in the army.

    The one ork game I have played so far, my Mega Nobs with a Big Mek went wild. Being able to pick up fallen Mega Nobs was amazing in the smaller point game I played.

    That Tankbustas data card should be a crime. 5 orks that will evaporate the second any attention is focused on them, with no commitment to how they want to fight - 3 longer range weapons and 2 closer ones, neither being enough to reliably deal with tanks.

    The Beastboss on Squigosaur isn’t just a god-tier stat line, it’s also probably the coolest looking Orks model ever. He’s still my favorite unit and has wrecked so much stuff in the 10e games I’ve played. He’s my auto-include, despite the price.

    To be honest, I think the Painboss could be low T2, since he has the ability to do big heals to beast Snagga Characters. Being able to heal 3 wounds a round on a squigosaur is pretty awesome.

    I am completely new at Warhammer and I went with orks cuz I loved playing them in Dawn of war back in the day, but I am completely lost when it comes to building an army or a combat patrol. This video helped so much on what units do, what or where they are helpful. Thank you so much!!

    I don't see why they don't make snotlings sort of like a ork version of tau drones, so you could include a couple snotling minis (if there was still such a thing) in boys mobs as buffs or human shields.

    Great vid! I feel Grotsnik +Warboss +19 boys and the Nob is a deadly combo though. Becomes a 'Ard hitting durible hord. Very strong imo

    Unless I'm mistaken the shokkjump dragsta uses the redeployed units clarification and counts as only having made a normal move each time it jumps so it can still shoot. I could be wrong tho

      The wording on the card says 'when you advance' you pick it up and move it anywhere 9 inches from enemy models. It doesn't say 'instead of advancing'. So it's not a normal move

      @rickrivers2021 that is true but under the design document under repositioned units point 3 they say: 3. A repositioned unit counts as having made a Normal move in the
      phase in which it is set back up

    Great Content. Tier list is pretty on point save that I think burnas should be higher. I am guessing it was filmed before the recent pt changes as Morkanaut is very much t6 now

    I think if the Dragsta had kept Assault it could've easily been Tier 2. As is I think it's the best buggy in some circumstances. I fought a Guardsmen artillery army and being able to just turn off orders by sniping an officer each turn almost reliably was pretty great

    One important thing to add is that gretchins with Zodgrod can embark into trukk and give him the massive bonus pre-game move, which can block a lot of objectives

    The Battlewagon datasheet still boggles my mind lol
    Why on earth did GW make it one datasheet instead of 3 ?!
    THEY MADE EVERY LEMAN RUSS TURRET A SEPERATE DATASHEET!
    Now I'm paying 185 points for a wagon with a death roller, unless I paint up a wrecking ball. Grabba. 4 shootas. A kannon and lobba.... or just say it has them?! Like in the cockpit lol

    I still don't understand why WAAAGH only affects melee and why the majority of ork shooty units hit on a 5+. At least increase the attack of their guns (like give them assault and rapid fire 2 or something) to compensate. You know...dakka?

      Does seem like you should be able to choose between a melee and shooting waggah
      Maybe 3 types:
      1) melee focus
      2) dakka focus
      3) compromise a bit of both
      Would put a bit of skill into when you call it. You know... Fun.

      Waaagh! is one of the worst army rules. BA and WE get +1A and S on charges every time. Heroic Intervention at 6" to count as charging. Easy access to Advance and Charge, and have units that grant invulns anyway. Having to broadcast Waaagh! when going 2nd is bad. Can't see this working well except at the beer and pretzel level (which is still higher than where most GW rules writers play at).

Heck space marines get 3 flavors that they can each use once a battle one with a shooty variant and each of the variants synergies nicely with multiple stratagems they have

    Every Ork game I've played so far has had a 20 block of Superrunts with Zodgrod and it's so fun. Feels way more worth it than it did in 9th.

    Honestly, wish the Warboss in mega armor also gave a +5 FNP to the meganobz. Makes sense as the mek in Mega armor gives survivability + range boost, so it's the flipside of that for the melee variant.

    The beast boys are like primaris for orks but worse because they don't even look cool. The ork codex can't come soon enough, I need to see a speedwaagh or dread mob detachment

    Imho the Shokkjump Dragsta is indeed able to shoot, repositioned units count as having made a normal move as of the rule commentary, and you shokkjump INSTEAD of making an actual advance. So technically, even without Assault they're able to shoot.

      ​​​@@zieg0rI can't find that rule in the Core Rules, can you point it out? All I found is that Reserve units count as having made a Normal move, not repositioned units. I do think that according to the rules as written, the Shokkjump can't shoot after jumping, which is indeed unfortunate.
      EDIT: I just found the commentary you mentioned, and I think you're actually right and I'm wrong! So that's cool.

    I've been tempted to try the shoota boyz and I think some interesting tactics might be either riding in a transport with a mek, or hooking them up with a big mek. 34/51 s4 shots might be good hitting on 4's in a battlewagon. Also a big mek would give reroll of 1's on a mid range objective holding unit of shoota boyz and either a 4++ inv against shooting or a couple of decent anti tank shots. Honestly I'd like to see these tactics compare their damage against other shooting units like flash gitz and lootas etc.

      The problem is the Big Mek can't give them rerolls to hit when they're in a Trukk or Battlewagon. You can't buff individual models inside the transport for firing deck. The only way to buff their shooting is to have a regular Mek buff the actual vehicle

      ​@@rickrivers2021Absolutely, I didn't mean to imply you're getting both benefits at the same time. I said either/or, but both are decent at mid to rear objective control depending on your goal for the unit. However both the mek/big mek are solid buffs to the Boyz shooting on their own. Since Boyz tend to be good objective holders and not the best at melee (compared to Nobz, BS Boyz, etc...) having them use shootas could help allow them to support other units in fights since without either of these buffs the shootas look lackluster. I think it's a better strategy if they stay in the vehicle with a Mek buffing them because most of the other Ork infantry shooty units have problems staying in a transport because their abilities are deactivated in the transport unlike with the shoota Boyz.

      I do agree that Beast Snaggas are better than Boyz, but Boyz with choppas (with or without buffs) are better than boyz with Shootas (with or without buffs)

      @@rickrivers2021 I'm not saying Boyz are bad, just maybe overshadowed by the stacked lineup of melee profiles we have access to. And yes, Choppa Boyz will do more damage than shoota Boyz most of the time, and are a good melee unit, but if they are holding an objective away from the fight, having a shoota unit might be better. It is niche, but there are a lot of times some of my Boyz do nothing and it might be nice if they still do chip damage (or straight chaff clearing if you buff them like I mentioned)

    A Grot Mega Tanks buffed by a Mek is pretty solid against enemy infantry for only 110pts, in my opinion. It's one of the few ork units that gets genuinely solid shooting.

    Warboss on warbike is not allowed to lead warbikers for some reason. It's highly likely a mistake.

      There are so many mistakes in the Ork index. The AdMech and DG ones are flat bad, but the Orks one looks like it was made by an illiterate intern.

    Shokkjump can teleport and shoot.
    The rules say units that reposition "count as normal move" in the commentary document.

    The gargantuan squiggoth can also receive the "Ard as Nails" stratagem, giving it -1 to wound. I used it in a local tournament last week, and in some games, it didnt even die. Especially against sisters, they didnt even bother shooting at it.
    Mega Nobz damage is attrocious though. only 2 stock attacks with killsaws hitting on 4s? Who cares about rerolls to wounds if you only hit with 1 attack?

    The Stompa’s cost is a slap in the face for Ork players. It makes me think that GW just doesn’t want to redo the kit or sell any more.

Clearly GW wasn’t able to account for everything which is a shame because simply giving every faction their own representative within the company as the WoW team does with its classes would have prevented this.

    I thought the Lootas led by BMwSAG was interesting, for shooting things off of objectives. Hit reroll on the SAG seems nice for 55+75pts. Maybe more solid than the Mek Gunz combo?

    Honestly a bunch of Lootas with a KFF Big Mek might be an interesting piece of tech. At 11pts and a 4++ they're gonna be a pain to shift cost effectively at long range and they'll be free to plink at stuff with the re-roll 1s or full rerolls against units on objectives. Putting a bunch of these in a position to target an objective (preferably camping your backfield objective at the same time) might be pretty legit. Another combo could be putting them in a Trukk with a mini Mek and have the Mek jump out to give them +1 to hit.

      The Trukk strat would still only make the trukk hitting on a maximum of 5+. BS6 is just absurdly bad.

      The hitting on 4s would be nice for lootas, and that might solve the mobility problem as well, given that they’re part of the trukks stats now. But they’d lose their ability to reroll completely, so not sure if that’s a good trade

    The walkers even though you put them in Tier 4 are extremely difficult to deal with. I run a Walker list (i love this edition for not requiring troops, only infantry i ran was meganobz + Big mek + 3 meks). If i didn't warn my opponent in my game i was using this list he would have not been able to do anything. Even with of High strength weapons + Oath from his SM army it was a always close game. Mega Dread 1 shot Smurf Primarch with Tank shock + His MW ability (dread blew up next to him before they got into combat). Kanz + mek are seriously scary with 3+ to shoot on Rokkits. I cant wait for other detachments to come out so i can optimize them further

      I think that has less to do with walkers being better than their tier, and more with HIgh Tougness saturation. if you take out some walkers and put a couple of beastbosses on squagasaur and a squiggoth, your opponent would also have trouble with getting everything off the table.
      That being said, flavour is very important! not everything has to be optimized fun is important!

      is a single BS 3+ Rokkit really that impactful? Meks give +1 to hit for a vehicle Model, not a vehicle Unit, so it doesn't target the entire squadron of kans.

Rokkits hitting on 4+ still have a lot of impact but i would give the boosts to the dreads then, would have them advancing to keep up with them to give them 2+ to their melee or more 4+ shooting if you wonna do something crazy like 4x rockets or 4x kmb

    I like the idea of grot tanks on paper, but they suffer from leadership sitting at an 8. They will get battle shocked often.

      Good thing they don't really exist for holding objectives or using stratagems(yet). They're just zippy, surprisingly tough gun platforms you zoop around the board to blast key targets with.

      My understanding is that Extra Attacks can still get Sustained Hits, since it's modifying the number of Hits, not the number of Attacks.

    Im really liking the idea of 20 boys with 2 x Rocketlanchers, slugga+ Choppaz and WeirdBoy + 1 other character depending on what role you want to play eg: Painboy for 5+ feel no pain + regen Some models for objective holding OR WARBOSS- for hitting power
    Or BannaBoy for extra Whaaa and objective and hitting power...

      I keep saying similar. I look with envy at what Necrons and CSM can do with their leaders/units.
      Orks just have different flavors of similar infantry: boyz, snaggas, nobs, mega nobz, and the different flavors of the same Bosses that can join them, Warboss, Beast Boss, Boss in Mega Armor, Painboy, Painboss, Weirdboy, Wurrboy, etc.

      The SM variety isn't that good. Once you dive into things you see that most don't cross-pollinate. It's just the sheer amount of datasheets (most of which are non-viable) makes it look like there are many choices, and a small percentage of those are competitive. I'm not saying marines bad, just that people overestimate the faction at the moment in large part due to oath and T-shirt launchers.
      But... yeah, more flexibility for all would be good.

      They used to have even more characters. Certainly their could be more named characters. We have a named leader Ghaz, we have a named Kommando, named Stormboy, named Flash Git, named Runtheard, a named Squigosaur rider and a named Painboy. The only things were really missing is a named Biker, named Warboss, named Beastboss, named Weirdboy, and a named Big Mek.😊

    I have been wondering this because this happened to me in a game. If be'lakor attacks ghaz's unit with precision stratagem can i use makari's save to keep ghaz alive? Or does those hits go straight to ghaz, they are the same unit anyway. Thoughts?

      Ghaz and Makari are both characters. The opponent gets to choose which character is wounded by precision attacks. Makari’s 2++ is rarely going to come up.

      @itzyaboilostkauz4472 Every space marine chapter uses the space marine index. Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Black Templar, Deathwatch, and Space Wolves have their own indexes too, which let them use special units or different detachment rules along with everything from the space marine index. Iron Hands, Ultramarines, Imperial Fists, Salamanders, etc would all use that same space marines index. Iron Hands do get unique character called Iron Father Feiros or something like that, but that is the only unique thing they have right now in 10th edition

    I'm fairly surprised that a simple Mek ha been ranked this high despite most of the vehicles being in low tiers, I mean, you can still make him follow a deff dread, a mork/gorkanaut, or a trukk even, making their attacks a menace but it still baffles me, this unit became weirdly top-tier.

    I think a lot of these discussions miss the idea in some regards that the games damage outputs and AP have been significantly lowered.
    Yes. There are winners and losers in every faction as some will do well and others won’t, but synergy and working heroes into units feels massive now, and certain buffs of “underpowered” choices could make them terrifying.
    I honestly feel as if this edition has done a really good job at making most things consistently ok, and matchups feel way closer now over tabled in the first turns and a concede

    10x Gretchin, + 1x Runtherd, in a Trukk (with free wrecking ball, why not!?!) is ONLY 95 points. Plus, it leaves space for 1x character to join. HUGE POWER MUTILPLIER, full 12x firing deck + adding a 12" move + 10x wounds at T8, effectively, to unit. Auto Include at least 1x, best value at 3x (IMHO). "Big guns never tire", works on firing deck from my understanding = PERFECTION

      It was okay even last edition if you didn't mind gambling. Now that can choose what to shoot at after seeing what its profile is it's really quite good while still being erratic. Sometimes you just will not roll the bubble you need when you need it, but it's hot stuff when you do.

    I'd really love to get a Meganobz list led by Big Mekz for that nigh immortal Terminator action, but the kit is too damn expensive, Combiweapons too damn strange and I cannot trust GW keeping a list of Mine valid for more than 6 months. By the time I can afford it, it might already been nerfed, impossible or a new edition comes out.

    Wait I thought people found out that you CAN shoot the Shokkjumpdragsta AFTER the Teleport because there is some stupid rule hidden in the long ass Rule Document they released that said "Repositioned" units count as having only made a Normal Move not an Advance. Am I missremembering that? Did people just get that wrong?

      People are trying to convince themselves that this repositioned rule applies to the Dragsta bc being unable to shoot after teleporting makes it just not worth taking. Unfortunately, the Shokkjump Dragsta datasheet specifically says that you're only repositioning *by advancing*.

      And the repositioning rule says you count as having made a normal move, so you advance, jump then count as not having as anced as you count as having made a normal move. You can't have both, so you only made a normal move

    You Highlight the reason I gave up on 40k long ago, every new edition of rules is give and take for the Ork's, they may give you a small boost, but always reduce the effectiveness of every Ork force, particularly in shooting, making them an easy target for all the more favoured armies, so they can NEVER win, and are not even fun any more.

    I thing this tier list is maybe a bit misleading. Not to include possible gameplay is the problem. Deffkoptas are able to use their own ability, than grenades and not last Tankshock. Also, tier 1 seems to be a joke. Of course the units are good per point, but mot going to do a lot without an army around them, as both truck as gretchins are more a support stuff.

      Trukks at 50pts are dirt cheap. Grots at 45pts are also very cheap. Being T5 in melee and generating a CP makes them very good.

      Currently, rules don't seem to say you cannot. Comparing Da Jump to something like Snikrot's "teleport", which has such a restriction, it does seem possible.
      With how many errors are in the Ork index, I would not be surprised if this gets changed in the faq that is expected at the end of July.

    Hey auspex, what do you think of having a 10 man squad lootas teleport with a weirdboy (making them have 5+ instead of 6+ for not moving) and then shooting on a weak squad in the back row objective for the data our loot ability? (rerolls of 1 against targets on objective marker) Not to mention, the weirdboy gets a bonus to their ranged weapon in a 10 man squad!

    I recently played my first 2000pt 10th edition match against the Black Templars. The green skins did amazing especially beast-boss on squigosuar. He was able to tie up a unit of 20 Crusaders killing all by turn 4 and only taking a single wound. Mozrog fought Grimaldus and 10 crusaders killing all without taking any wounds. Which left them wondering how to handle the. Was able to deep strike. StormBoyz and Koptas in his deployment zone then used da jump to land 20 more boyz in his deployment zone to help remove enemy artillery and claim their objective. The cherry on top was when his reviers forced my grectin to take battle shock but then they passed and managed to kill a space marine.
