Honestly just the conflict mode will make this game more popular. It's going to be unlike any other game when it's finished. If the they get modding right it will also boost its popularity especially if those mods are based around the new game mode. Hopefully we see full faction mods or ones based off of historical events like the Falklands war in the Future.
I love conflict mode, a select percentage think conflict is boring but I thoroughly enjoy it, it gives you that "true war" feeling, supply runs giving your team the logistics it needs to win, and trying to claw against the AI, once the server stability and all the content is finished I think Reforger will be absolutely addicting as a realistic war sim. Especially when or if Bohemia is able to implement the AI commander roles, which means you won't have to rely on other people to enjoy the game. I hoping that ALL the factions will get a commander role, not just the Soviets or US but the FIA as well, imagine trying to fight a prong war, not only against the main opposing faction but against the FIA constantly trying to reclaim and fortify their own territory (and I currently despise the AI but I see the potential)

This game mode isn't new to the Arma series but having an engine optimized for pvp is new. The majority of Arma's community is still playing Arma 3 and of those a lot of them prefer shooting AI because they like winning and have a cry when they lose 😉 but ua-cam.com/video/3OAjIAw8mgc/v-deo.html here is a video from a decade ago of Arma 2's equivalent of 'conflict' back then we relied on mostly AI controlled groups instead of players but was still fun.. Each player having it's own AI squad was a little taxing on servers at times, but at the same time being in command of a few tanks or attack helicopters was also fun.. I just hope the AI isn't as dumb as previous Arma's have been, but then again.. After near 200hrs in reforger sometimes I miss the old AI as people can be just as dumb 😂
@@Twizted86 it's is great to finally enjoy a good milsim. Hopefully ai would be much improved. I also heard that they said some servers might have no ai for higher player count if people go for it. I'm personally think I will like ai if it's implemented good. I remember playing brothers in arms years ago and been wanting a good squad based game.
I feel like Headquarters is what we should've gotten since Arma 2... the old Evolution PvP gamemode, which was insanely good, a commander would decide not only the objectives but also the development and use of resources and buildings of the faction. People could either be part of a squad or lead a squad of AI, the commander could have a squad of pilots just to deliver people or have AI do it, etc, it was way too ahead of its time.
Am I the only one that thinks 1980’s combat is way more interesting and fun than all the modern stuff pushed by Squad and other games? There’s all kinds of Cold War games out there, but not really any good shooters since ‘83 and Escalation 1985 fizzled out. Breaks my heart. Hoping this will come a long way to scratch my itch
I totally forgot about reforger, gonna buy the game preview on series x when I get home today, gotta support these devs because they seem to be my only true hope for a real sim on console
Good video. Agree - we've been playing conflict for the past two months and it showcases just how much Reforger has improved. Additions and improvements to the vanilla medical system and Zeus have hugely improved playability. And overall stability, performance and graphics quality are now close to a version 1 release. Just a few more stability patches needed. Like a digital ultrasound - we can now clearly see a baby Arma4 growing and taking shape.
Zeus is absolutely the core of ArmA 3 gameplay as far as im concerned, and a well working Zeus for Reforger/ArmA4 is a prerequisite for that entire community wanting to move over
Looks awesome!, especially with the AI, im not really a multiplayer guy, but I love arma, so I just hope for the AI updates, they’ll do a single player conflict mode where I can just have fun taking over villages and commanding AI without having to worry about other players
I've been playing Hidden & Dangerous 2, Ghost Recon 1, and SWAT 4 constantly. I only stop playing them too get some Arma in here and there, and I gotta say, I'm really excited for a new Arma campaign from Bohemia! I was having a blast with Arma 2's campaign this past week, with a lot of it feeling like a more open ended version of Hidden & Dangerous 2's gameplay. I love having a team and some control over resources and being given a a sandbox of scripted events, bases, and capture/kill/rescue targets that have just enough random variables to keep things interesting. I swear, every time I stop being cautious and start flying through a big mission as if I've got it memorized, suddenly one random variable throws off my timing and the next thing I know I've lost my Humvee, called a chopper, and am now watching the ground spin from inside of a chopper, because I didn't plan on flying and AA is tappin that ass. lmao. good times. Then I start it all over again and spend another 30 minutes trying to do it all perfect. Love it. I want some more of that. There's just something about well made SP missions that immerse your pants off while also letting you command a squad from the ground. Just like how real teamwork with players is a special experience that can only happen in MP, having a SP game try to give you those experiences with as little friction as possible to the experience can give you a level of immersion that just hits different. I love both, but the SP version is really hard to come by these days.
I wish there was a way to capture enemy soldiers. Currently if you heal them after downing them, even if you remove their weapons they will run away. If you don’t remove their grenades, when they wake up they will nae nae themselves while you heal them. This problem makes you warcrime them each time they wake up, since there is no merciful option.

i really hope ArmA4 will be set in the current modern day era. and somewhere in European forest/alpine regions. I'm sick and tired of cold war games and if ArmA4 will take that same path, i aint gonna get it and this will be the very first title in the entire OFP/ArmA franchise i'm not getting.

@@a10robibrrrttt67 I highly doubt that Arma 4 will be set in current day because that would mean that BI would have to create all the advanced weapon systems for a modern day setting. BI is struggling to get reforger to be barely playable with very few game features, how are they going to create all the game features needed for a modern setting? Arma 4 is most likely going to be set in the early to mid 1990's so they can reuse all of reforgers assets, and they don't have to create all the advanced weapons systems that would be needed for a current day setting.

Btw bi is much bigger now and has a lot more budget so how could they develop a game like arma 3 but they can't just redo that with a new engine that like saying that we can't build pyramids nowadays

ive played arma since the 90s and they were super hard when i was like 13. now seeing the war in reddit that happens in ukraine and seeing half a million people dead, theres no game that can simulate a real war situtation. shrapnel is the biggest cause of death and the artillery still is the most important weapon in any confrontation.. have fun hanging in the front lines evading those 155mm shrapnells
I joined the army in 2000 as an 18-year-old kid. I was on a M109 howitzer and my role was reloading. Those shells weighed 4 kilos more than me. Fun times.
The most recent update has made it so i can play on PC flawlessly without crashes. Might get kicked from servers due to issues server wise but the game itself is holding up really well.
Between arma reforger getting updates, 7 days to die finally being brought up to current updates in the near future, valhiem getting steady updates, state of decay 3 on the horizon, it’s a great time to be a sim/survival fan, my girlfriend and I have found that nothing grabs up quite like survival games
I want DayZ 2 with the same or more depth than the first one, but in UE5 graphics and with a decent human AI (not just zombies) for PvE stuff. That would be a game I'd never stop playing.
Love that game. The problem for me is that enemy AI can see you through forest, bushes, etc before you can see them. So it's hard at the beginning to get an AI enemy that sees you every time. Will this issue be fix?
I've been going back and forth between Arma 3 and Reforger, and in A3 the AI definitely see and attack you through bushes. IMO Reforger is much better, though they are very slow to react right now. I hear that shadows might play a role in the future for how well the AI sees you in Reforger.
Id be happy if the game had actual fullscreen and didnt reset to windowed when i press enter to change any setting. Im guessing the is a 24' road map? I just cant see this game competing with anything if im honest. I hope im wrong.
the thing is, i don't want arma to be a mainstream title. i want a complex military simulation just like arma1, arma 2 and arma 3 was with ai commands, eden mission editor, vehicles, etc...
I have been playing game master on xbox making up my own scenarios as limited as it, Its still amazing and better than anything else on console already. I cant wait to be able to command A.I or have enemy A.I doing patrol routes in vehicles. 😎👌
I would love to play this but the servers keep crashing over and over still. It's been a year I believe and it so hard get into a game just to get kicked
all of these additions are groundbreaking and interesting to think about playing with but the true problem is definitely the fact that the servers can't function. everytime i've picked the game back up and tried to play with my friends we just couldn't make our own servers or even join a public server if bohemia wants reforger to make a huge comeback they gotta fix those servers man
I played Operation Flashpoint 20 years ago. I played ArmA.. Arma 2 & 3 competitively (.. as much as one can) and the number 1 issue for me was always TERRIBAD networking. It doesn't matter that you theoretically can play 100v100 if everybody rubberbands and crashed left and right. You will never reach mainstream with janky networking. NEVER. People will give up day one and never return. If the gaming industry has proven one thing in recent years it is that this generation of gamers will not wait for a game to be fixed. It needs a smooth launch. NEEDS.
I think another big thing is just Arma 3's huge modding community. I feel like Reforger will be a slow growth just because of how many mods will need to be converted to Reforger.
I just want mission editor on Xbox series X so that I can create and save missions. Literally only reason I haven’t played since it wasn’t a feature when it launched on series X.
If you bought this game you knew what you were getting, a tech demo on what Arma 4 can be I'm not annoyed I spent money on it, if it helps the development of 4 I'm happy. Some sort on invasion game mode for multiplayer would be fun though.
@@mrclout1835 Neither unless you have a group of people to play with honestly theres almost 0 fun to be had in Arma without a group of friends but that applies more so to 3 than reforger honestly I wouldn't recommend reforger to anyone there is nothing to do besides the multiplayer where there is almost no coordination.

To me, Arma is, and will only be place for Milsim plays. Realistic battles, coordination , tactics. We do already play in that way in our fast growing community and its giving a blast. Some mods, AI mod, first perfectly. Yes conflict is great, but try realistic milsim 😄 one life events
What community are you running? Is it open or private? I'm looking for one to finally play Reforger the way it's meant to be played (rather than the frustrating public server chaos I've experienced so far).
I really like what they're doing with it. On the other hand, I have played 50 hours now (I know, that's nothing in an Arma game, but still) and haven't had a single fun game. Always total chaos, close to zero communication, trolling, vehicle stealing, you name it. As in every tactical game, the people playing it are weakpoint that ruins all the potential the game has. So in that sense: Is there any community that likes to play tactical without the elitist wannabe-special-forces bullshit attached to it? I'm looking for chill people who take teamplay and tactics seriously enough for it to be fun, but not so serious that I feel like I've enlisted to an army of small-dick would-be soldiers.

I didn't like the Arma 3 campaign much, when it came out in 2013 it was too crazy jumping from Arma 2's concept to their 2035 reality, but it turns out they weren't far off with their predictions. Who knew CSAT would actually appear one day.. I guess BI knew in advance about BRICS 😂
Hey man, I know how to fix that glitch that was shown in the first 10 seconds of the video. To fix the air you must have arma installed in the same hard drive as steam. It’s pretty simple to fix, my question is with it is how have the developers not fix that.
I have never played Reforger but I have 3600 hours in Arma 3. That might not seem like too much but that is spread out since 2017. I have seen many times that people can ruin modes by hogging roles and being terrible at the game. There needs to be a vote kick system this time around. Not just appoint a single person by vote for that privilege. If someone is being bad the players need that vote to kick to remove them immediately.
Try SQUAD then ;) Gladly there are authors like @Ironbeard that explain things really well. I hope official videos and guides will have it explained more for all level of player - casual privates, more advanced squads and more tactical people in general.
you can give great game to low people but it still will be low because of people, no matter how great it might get. Right now players are just focusing simply on WINNING! WINNING! WINNING! (which practicaly means server restart - disconnecting all players and starting all again) which effectively means when you get to play for at least hour without crash you have End Game countdown already running up. Dumb ppl in community lacking serotonin in their lives will never understand that they are playing the game for firefights, cooperation and competition. Instead they just strive for player caused restart, masturbating while looking at victory screen (probably) I tryed to explain to them and negotiate in gamechat but thats what mediocre people really want. Like if they never felt sense of domination in fight unless WINNING SCREEN! Battleroyale mindset
yeah and team balance is also not a thing in game (fyi) BUT ITS GREAT GAME AND YOU SHOULD BUY IT!! You'll get sorted later xD I also had run ins with people that were great to play with in team, random people and since only powerbits server was populated I get to meet one guy more often. I watched other people trolling such players, not cooperating and just trying to hinder such people... (EG: while trying to build squads, also radio spamming and so on) Eventuely that player unleashed friendly fire killling spree on main base se he could get banned and not be bothered with A-holes in otherwise great game...
The only way this game is going to grow is if they deal with the greifers atm they are doing an absolutely terrible job the same profiles greifing daily with no permanet bans maybe if you brought some light upon this an got more players to request better vote to kick and ban system this game could grow to become an amazing game
After 8 Hours.. All they need to do is refine the game. Stop ducking around. After hardcore refining. Add shit. Then refine it. Russians need SKS and more then just a Ural and Gaz. Simple as that. IRL and in-game the BTR-70 vs LAV-25 is like a ATGM to a WW2 Half-track. Dead. We should be able to add Cope Cages, ERA, And more. Add NVS, or FLIR. Etc etc
I honestly just want to play without disconnecting or crashing.. never finished a full match it’s annoying and I only played in the night once and it was amazing but yeah. Uninstalled because it’s to annoying with the crashing and disconnecting.

@@SirIronbeard maybe coz it brings even more frustration to already chaotic experience (map, graphics, gameplay). Maybe FPS thing was gluing it together before, but now just falls apart? I am new to SQUAD (got it because of recent "realism" update) and for me it falls very short, compare to Reforger.
arma 4 is on pause sense the Ukraine invasion. They stated in a news post due to overwhelming fake videos being past as real war footage. They were taking the developers from a4 and doing damage control as they put it. Who knows the current status of a4 but my guess it will be around 2026

My biggest fear is the mods being moved for an built-in workshop, since now, any ripped content falls almost instantly. Gone are the days of good looking texture vests and clothes from TFL, FBL, Ronin and others... It makes me really sad. Even RHS is tryna change real names of a few equipment on their Status Quo version of All in One mods for Reforger(Eg. DAGR going from Rockwell Collins to Cockwell Rollins)...

You are comparing 2 different games, swat 3 had small levels, so AI is easier to make smarter because less variables to account for, its same with fear games where AI seems super smart, arma is much bigger game, and much more things happen, so its harder to make good AI
@@KrahamusARMA has a much bigger budget and much larger fan base. The resources could have been invested in making AI great instead of making PvP great.

ive played arma since the 90s and they were super hard when i was like 13. now seeing the war in reddit that happens in ukraine and seeing half a million people dead, theres no game that can simulate a real war situtation. shrapnel is the biggest cause of death and the artillery still is the most important weapon in any confrontation.. have fun hanging in the front lines evading those 155mm shrapnells

The most recent update has made it so i can play on PC flawlessly without crashes. Might get kicked from servers due to issues server wise but the game itself is holding up really well.

IMO Conflict is very well done and structured.
Between arma reforger getting updates, 7 days to die finally being brought up to current updates in the near future, valhiem getting steady updates, state of decay 3 on the horizon, it’s a great time to be a sim/survival fan, my girlfriend and I have found that nothing grabs up quite like survival games
I want DayZ 2 with the same or more depth than the first one, but in UE5 graphics and with a decent human AI (not just zombies) for PvE stuff. That would be a game I'd never stop playing.

Love that game. The problem for me is that enemy AI can see you through forest, bushes, etc before you can see them. So it's hard at the beginning to get an AI enemy that sees you every time. Will this issue be fix?
I've been going back and forth between Arma 3 and Reforger, and in A3 the AI definitely see and attack you through bushes. IMO Reforger is much better, though they are very slow to react right now. I hear that shadows might play a role in the future for how well the AI sees you in Reforger.

I have been playing game master on xbox making up my own scenarios as limited as it, Its still amazing and better than anything else on console already. I cant wait to be able to command A.I or have enemy A.I doing patrol routes in vehicles. 😎👌

all of these additions are groundbreaking and interesting to think about playing with but the true problem is definitely the fact that the servers can't function. everytime i've picked the game back up and tried to play with my friends we just couldn't make our own servers or even join a public server

I played Operation Flashpoint 20 years ago. I played ArmA.. Arma 2 & 3 competitively (.. as much as one can) and the number 1 issue for me was always TERRIBAD networking. It doesn't matter that you theoretically can play 100v100 if everybody rubberbands and crashed left and right. You will never reach mainstream with janky networking. NEVER. People will give up day one and never return.
If the gaming industry has proven one thing in recent years it is that this generation of gamers will not wait for a game to be fixed. It needs a smooth launch. NEEDS.

I think another big thing is just Arma 3's huge modding community. I feel like Reforger will be a slow growth just because of how many mods will need to be converted to Reforger.

Bad Company 2 did have good destruction. Red Faction also has great destruction. And it's even more impressive considering how old the game is.

If you bought this game you knew what you were getting, a tech demo on what Arma 4 can be I'm not annoyed I spent money on it, if it helps the development of 4 I'm happy. Some sort on invasion game mode for multiplayer would be fun though.

@@mrclout1835 Neither unless you have a group of people to play with honestly theres almost 0 fun to be had in Arma without a group of friends but that applies more so to 3 than reforger honestly I wouldn't recommend reforger to anyone there is nothing to do besides the multiplayer where there is almost no coordination.

To me, Arma is, and will only be place for Milsim plays. Realistic battles, coordination , tactics. We do already play in that way in our fast growing community and its giving a blast. Some mods, AI mod, first perfectly. Yes conflict is great, but try realistic milsim 😄 one life events

I really like what they're doing with it. On the other hand, I have played 50 hours now (I know, that's nothing in an Arma game, but still) and haven't had a single fun game. Always total chaos, close to zero communication, trolling, vehicle stealing, you name it. As in every tactical game, the people playing it are weakpoint that ruins all the potential the game has. So in that sense: Is there any community that likes to play tactical without the elitist wannabe-special-forces bullshit attached to it? I'm looking for chill people who take teamplay and tactics seriously enough for it to be fun, but not so serious that I feel like I've enlisted to an army of small-dick would-be soldiers.

There are some single player scenarios that I'm going to do a video on. No campaigns yet, but Arma 4 will have all that stuff for sure.

I didn't like the Arma 3 campaign much, when it came out in 2013 it was too crazy jumping from Arma 2's concept to their 2035 reality, but it turns out they weren't far off with their predictions. Who knew CSAT would actually appear one day.. I guess BI knew in advance about BRICS 😂

Hey man, I know how to fix that glitch that was shown in the first 10 seconds of the video. To fix the air you must have arma installed in the same hard drive as steam. It’s pretty simple to fix, my question is with it is how have the developers not fix that.

Revisit it - it now very stable and playable.
I have never played Reforger but I have 3600 hours in Arma 3. That might not seem like too much but that is spread out since 2017. I have seen many times that people can ruin modes by hogging roles and being terrible at the game. There needs to be a vote kick system this time around. Not just appoint a single person by vote for that privilege. If someone is being bad the players need that vote to kick to remove them immediately.
There is a vote kick system in Reforger but it's broken at the moment.

you can give great game to low people but it still will be low because of people, no matter how great it might get.
Right now players are just focusing simply on WINNING! WINNING! WINNING! (which practicaly means server restart - disconnecting all players and starting all again) which effectively means when you get to play for at least hour without crash you have End Game countdown already running up. Dumb ppl in community lacking serotonin in their lives will never understand that they are playing the game for firefights, cooperation and competition. Instead they just strive for player caused restart, masturbating while looking at victory screen (probably)
I tryed to explain to them and negotiate in gamechat but thats what mediocre people really want. Like if they never felt sense of domination in fight unless WINNING SCREEN! Battleroyale mindset

I also had run ins with people that were great to play with in team, random people and since only powerbits server was populated I get to meet one guy more often. I watched other people trolling such players, not cooperating and just trying to hinder such people... (EG: while trying to build squads, also radio spamming and so on) Eventuely that player unleashed friendly fire killling spree on main base se he could get banned and not be bothered with A-holes in otherwise great game...

I am new to SQUAD (got it because of recent "realism" update) and for me it falls very short, compare to Reforger.

For me SQUAD is a tech demo. It's really enjoyable AND it serves as perfect preparation for ARMA4 (both for devs and users).
arma 4 is on pause sense the Ukraine invasion. They stated in a news post due to overwhelming fake videos being past as real war footage. They were taking the developers from a4 and doing damage control as they put it. Who knows the current status of a4 but my guess it will be around 2026

My biggest fear is the mods being moved for an built-in workshop, since now, any ripped content falls almost instantly. Gone are the days of good looking texture vests and clothes from TFL, FBL, Ronin and others... It makes me really sad. Even RHS is tryna change real names of a few equipment on their Status Quo version of All in One mods for Reforger(Eg. DAGR going from Rockwell Collins to Cockwell Rollins)...

SWAT3 has the best AI for a tactical shooter. I don't see any good AI in Arma Reforger so far in game.
You are comparing 2 different games, swat 3 had small levels, so AI is easier to make smarter because less variables to account for, its same with fear games where AI seems super smart, arma is much bigger game, and much more things happen, so its harder to make good AI

Main issue with arma was the code. It was a horrible one that ended up giving a 20 fps average even on a high level pc
