- ASMR / How to replace a water heater from start to pipe in. In this video I use PEX tubing and crimp fittings to install the new water heater. It's fast and easy and is totally safe and proper to use.

Great how-to video! Though I wish there were more Dan Jiles commentary. Now the really hard one is to change from a standard water heater to a hybrid one (like the Rheem XE 65) - what a joy to re-route the pipes from on top to the side. One tip to include is to check your local guidelines before installing a new water heater: between when my original one was installed 20 years ago and today, we got a new requirement for an expansion tank (thank God a neighbor told me about that).

Very impressive. I notice the wiring you took apart at the beginning -- there was no wiring to do at the end. Did I miss something, Dan?
I'm going to do another video on the wiring, the wire was too short so I'm replacing it with a new set of wires. Thank you Ken.

You could just wrap the pipes in red/ blue electric tape .
