Hey I also have an Akita, Efe is his name. He’s also neutered in the month May. In the beginning we didn't see any difference (apart from the first four days, he was very down). But now we do see a deference: he’s a bit calmer in the mornings but still likes to be active and playful. With other dogs it’s still the same: he want to be the dominant one. But he does play well with large breeds like: Doberman and husky and also a pit bull. (They are his best friends). He want to get dirty and plays rough. And the owners of those dogs don’t mind that. It’s hard to find other owners like that. Greetings from Belgium!!

I also have to pay close attention when Yuki is playing with other dogs in the park because he's also quite dominant. It's probably just the typical Akita personality 🤷🏻♂️
I would not risk to go with my akita to a dog park where are lots of dogs without the lease,akitas even neutered are very dominant and if they have to fight to show who is the boss they will

I’d be worried about the health consequences. It’s sad to me to take their youth away for behavioral problems. How much weight did he lose after the surgery? Yuki seems mostly calm, so What was the behavior change like? have wanted to get a male Akita for years so this question is always on my mind. Thank you for making videos, I enjoy them. Can you also do a video on the hardships of owning an Akita, like temperament, energy, grooming, loneliness, cleaning, socializing. I know it’s a lot, I just want to be a prepared owner someday :)
