  • Let's continue with the repair and reseal of the lower unit for my 18hp Evinrude outboard. Lat time we pulled the unit and tore it down, now lets start putting things back together.
This 18 hp Evinrude outboard was purchased new by my parents in 1973. Last used in the early 1990s, the motor has been sitting in the the junk pile for nearly 30 years. We have the carb cleaned up and new fuel lines and the power head has good compression so hopefully after the lower unit repairs, the motor will be reliable. Follow along as I resurrect this gem of an outboard.
