Absolutely breathtaking footage, flying, and editing. Perhaps my favorite so far. I've often pondered John, if I would classify your videos as art, science, skill, poetry, etc., etc. All these terms seem to fall short in one dimension or another. For now, let's just call them Magic, shall we? Thank you for sharing your magic with us.
She’s a wonderful camera ship! I really liked how you moved the camera around on her for different perspectives. As someone else said, this is one of the best in-flight videos from an rc model I’ve seen. Your editor and primary camera person (!) make for a great team! Not to mention the pilot! More, please!
Initially I thought that 10:20 was going to be too long for a flying video, turns out it's not long enough. :-) Very kind of you to allow helicopters and light aircraft to share your flying space. Another fab video John. Thank you.
Great video. I always find onboard flight video incredibly boring. This is an exception, it's very entertaining. I was playing "Where's John?" while watching. Breathtaking scenery too.
Love my B.O.T. & I'm sure you will too. I cheated & added a motor & folding prop to mine many years ago, long before Great Planes came out with the powered version. (I know - sacrilege, but we don't get many thermals or have slope sites where I live @ 8000' ASL.) It's a beautiful flyer.
These videos are absolutely awesome. Seeing the beautiful grandeur of our GOD'S work. The plane and how you ride the air currents, all tied together with the beautiful music.
If I recall that design dates back to the 1940s or so! I remember building the "Thermic" series of balsa/tissue gliders as child/teenager and my first experience of tow line free flight. Wonderfully stable design for light winds.
Yes, I am an R/C flyer... Yes, I have always loved flying and building gliders and gliding slope... BUT that is not why I never miss John's videos... The reason I never miss John's videos is that watching someone do something with obviously so much LOVE and PASSION is absolutely magical... thank you, John 🙏🏻❤️
This particular video I believe will go down as a classic. It is so enjoyable to watch what you and your wife have achieved being on top of your game. All ways experimenting with new ideas. You have have my deep admiration.
My uncle did this in the 70's with a similar sized plane and an r/c operated super 8 camera. What a huge difference in your footage compared to those days. Very much appreciated, stay safe.
I almost got dizzy there for a second, very beautiful day! Please people get outside and do something that you love. Give your mind some time to enjoy life! This is a great example! Thanks
Once again just beautyful and inspirational. While I am lacking such a perfect flying spot, your Videos still have me inspired me to build me a Leprechaun, with a Sinbad already being in the finishing stages too……..but now I have to build the Belair Thermalist too. Those vintage gliders are just a sight to behold and something different from what you usually find on the slopes.
Always wanted to see your flying site from a bird's eye viewpoint, John. Absolutely beautiful! These videos give me a relaxing, much-needed break from the craziness. May you build and soar for decades to come.
The video is beautiful to watch and the music pleasant to listen to! You have a good musical taste! See you soon for new flights and hi from France ...
Hi John, the combination of in flight and ground video, well edited, really gives a new and exciting dimension to the whole experience. Very good use of shadows and fairground style rides as the GoPro gets closer to the ground without actually hitting it. Brilliant.
Excellent video, the scenary from the glider is stunning, hard to believe you Brits fought a massive air battle to defend The England over that beautiful channel.
Dear John. The aerial shots from the glider are definitely wonderful. The landscapes and coasts look very inspiring. The glider's flight is flawless. Very nice work !!!
Great job in all aspects of this by the John Woodfield team of two. Filming, flying, editing, choice of music, all top drawer! Thanks for a relaxing Sunday morning.
In all your `slow bird' videos, I love the launch. It's as if you're just lifting the glider and hooking it onto the breeze, like hanging a coathanger in a closet. Great work all round.
This is what I like, such a great perspective on where you fly. First launch was so good. I will often take a frame grab at strategic points in the footage like when the planes shadow crosses past your person or a view of the coast. They make great photos for your album.
Google is earth brilliant I found the exact place and the pile of stones, you are a very lucky guy to live there you have a wonderful flying site Cornwall is a lovely place, like your videos and the music keep them coming .
Thanks again mr and Mrs. W another wonderful flight and when she flew over the cliff within the first minute and seeing the deep sheer drop off to the sea was incredible, your film's always bring out the calm and contentment in me and I'm sure that it's the same for many of your subscribers and viewers, best regards from Alan in south Yorkshire 👍👍🤗🤗❤
Like everybody here, I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to do this. Truly beautiful POV shots. Loved the music choice and also how you included shots of the glider without the camera strapped to it. Very nice editing.
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! There was a time when I was opposed to the look if this type of polyhedral wing, ...until I flew one. They are a joy! Stable. Graceful. Forgiving. Relaxing. Thank You, Sir!
Johnny the Perfectionist, u make beautiful job of all yr planes, thn u for sharing ! This one i think flies with the Angels!! Love the tipped up wing models and uve fitted camera which makes the flight even more special ! Well done Captain John!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
So graceful, so beautiful. Good choice in music Just getting into gliders, myself and so it's inspiring. No place close for slope soaring, tho. Thanks for the video.
At last, some footage of that fantastic coastline...If it was mine, I'd have an FPV setup on it and I'd be exploring out to sea and off up the coast....You'd need to upgrade your radio though...
Nice video, great editing, re: onboard and ground based cameras. Oh yeah, great piloting. Sweet catch 'n release. The launch off you open hand was very nice indeed.
I believe you hit the mark of tranquillity with this video my friend. Your a very skilled man,I'm trying not to come across to philosophical but this edite well the comments speak for them self. You must be very at peace with your self? I sense a man who has travelled,a man who has spread his wings and learnt to fly. Thank for this opportunity to drift of with my thoughts.
its 2 am in the morning in the middle of winter here in NZ and its raining and cold, I cant sleep...suddenly Im on a cliff in good old Blighty in summer, doing what I love ....beautiful :)
Best yet John, and the other half of course. It's helpful to know the wind strength you have in your videos. You seem to have a lot of very light north, north/westerlies? And sunny, obviously best for filming!
Ah yes, this video was in about 10 mph of breeze. More than enough to fly with the camera. Although I do only tend to take video when the sun is shining.
Belle le riprese John con la telecamera aliante a doppio diedro .hai seguito il mio consiglio di mettere la video camera bravo John fantastic .ciao gaetano from nord Calabria pollino Italy
I have to agree with Brad Atkinson from 2 days ago. I've been flying rc for over 10 years, and I thought over 10 minutes would be a long video. When it ended I was kind of shocked...that was 10 minutes?! Beautiful mesmerizing flight. Some of my favorite flights at my field have been with my Parkzone Radian, 45 minutes with the motor off riding thermals in California. Still too much of a rookie to fly on a slope like that with no motor to save me from my inevitable bad decision!😜 Thanx for the great video even if it was a short one.👍

Thank you for watching. It makes it all worthwhile.
Ten minutes of meditation, for us who don`t meditate. Thank you.
Everything I know about Cornwall I learned from Poldark and John Woodfield RC Gliders. Guess which one I love more!
She’s a wonderful camera ship! I really liked how you moved the camera around on her for different perspectives. Thank you so much!
That`s my mornings therapy session sorted. ;-) . very relaxing and beautifully edited.
The opening sequence with the ground shadow, very nice. Plus the glider's view of being caught, very nice.
He likes catching ‘em, does our John.
That’s done it. We’re moving to Cornwall. This is a beautiful dream. Thank you.
How amazing UA-cam is sometimes. I grew up in Perranporth, now is Australia. Great to see the old place again. Great view from the glider.
Beautiful. Another 3 weeks and I’ll be there. Just finishing my Bird of time.
Good luck with your Bird of Time, a beautiful model I would like to add to my hangar as well!
Choice of music is just perfect, can Watch these videos all day.

Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. They give me a little flying fix. Just pure gliding. Really nice!
Thank you for watching!
Wonderful video and very relaxing, ah yes the miracle of flight is mesmerizing.😎
I am utterly enchanted by your video and in awe of your skills. A nod to the video editor as well. Thank you.
I haven't flown a slope soarer for quite some years now, but if I had flying sites as beautiful as those, I don't think I would ever have stopped.
The grace and ease of an abatross. Thanks, John.
Thank you John, love that Ridge lift therapy
Beautiful flying, gorgeous scenery, very nice model. Thanks so much to you and your wife for well done videos.

They are a joy! Stable. Graceful. Forgiving. Relaxing.
Thank You, Sir!
Thank you. I agree, this glider is so stable it will fly itself, but will also turn around it’s wingtip without stalling.
These are such beautiful videos to watch.
Strange. I thought I would like the on-board video more than I did. I blame the excellent ground-based camera work, always a pleasure.
Beautiful is the only word that comes to mind. Thanks again John.
Thank you!
ONBOARD...Magic Video🌠🌠🌠👍👍👍☺☺☺🎥
I always wondered what was beyond your cliff.... yowzaa that is a long beautiful way down! Thanks for sharing!
