After stalking your channel for a few months I finally have to step onto the dance floor and declare: she may just be the most graceful, if not the cheekiest bird in your flock. What precision, what elegant turns, what intuitive handling of each flight... as if she anticipates your every move and mood - and the glider’s not bad either! (In tribute to a master videographer)
Your videos always inspire me to build! Putting the finishing touches on a micro dlg. Unlike you, I’m painfully slow, and my fingers too large for tiny electronics! Thanks, keep them coming!
Of all your planes, this one is definitely my favorite! And I can tell it's really fun for you to fly it! Thanks, your videos are a welcome relaxation in these really weird times.
Hi John, I have been following you for a long time and I really convinced myself that your gliders and your way of piloting them taking full advantage of their characteristics truly represents the essence of gliding. Thanks for sharing your emotions. Until next time ...
Love it..such an elegant flyer, like the leprechaun.. You've inspired me to build a slope soared.. I have experience building gliders many years ago..My first was a keil craft kadet.. I've never had rc..
It's good to see that as your videos are becoming more and more popular you are coordinating your clothes with your planes. I hope that Caroline was also wearing red and yellow when filming just to complete the team image of 'Woodfield's Wings'. Not sure Mike has much in the way of colour in his wardrobe, so best fly something khaki and beige next time he's down :-) Great video as always J&C. Take care.
I can't think of a better hobby than this right here! I'm talking about the building and flying of these graceful machines! You are a master at both ❤️
Another example of fantastic flying John and of course not forgetting your good lady's filming abilities coupled with some very appropriate music for even more inspirational content, please stay safe and healthy with my best regards from Alan in south Yorkshire 🤗🤗👍👍
Thank you John you are a very skilful person. And the camera work is very good too, if it was me doing the camera you would see blue skies and sea but no Gliders 😜🇬🇧🇬🇧
Small dihedral, long moment arm and plenty area ahead of C of E makes such smooth flight possible. Site, conditions and piloting skills help. Tell us the secrets, John!
THAT was lovely! I've been out of action for 3 weeks and 1 day and haven't been able to get to my PC due to nasty bruising (fell off my neighbour's roof, doing a good turn - NOT a good idea at age 70|), so your recent videos are a very real tonic. Thank you. "Spring" has now well and truly arrived in Oban, so the garden beckons urgently. So, unfortunately, does my recently-arrived Cambrian Elan 100S. Decisions, decisions, decisions . . . As a former (part-time) wedding videographer along with my own wife, can you pass on my appreciation of Mrs W's videoing skills, please? She really does have the knack of the pan and the zoom. No doubt there are a few shots left on the cutting-room floor, but if it's not in the published video it never happened. What camera is she using? All my old equipment is "shot" and I bought a little Sony Handycam thing at a very good price off Ebay and, while it sort-of works and give good shots when statically mounted it's absolutely useless for following a moving model as it only has a fold-out screen and no eyepiece. I have been resisting spending on a more appropriate camcorder, but the urge is getting stronger!
Thank you so much. Let’s hope you are well and truly on the mend. My wife also uses a Sony Handycam, but it has a viewfinder and shoots in 4K quality. I’m lucky that she wants to come out and film me flying. I only ever fly for about 15-20 minutes before she starts getting bored but that’s always more than enough footage for a 5 minute video. The weather is looking good for a fly today and I have a newly finished design to try out...
I like the covering effect on the wing leading edge, is it painted red on the yellow or have you skillfully applied red covering just to the leading edge?
It’s really just for styling. But the deep curved triangular section makes for a very light and strong structure. There is no aerodynamic reason for it.
@@SlopeRCGliders nice, any recommendations for a first time build on a glider? Any videos of you showing how to build one? I have been thinking of building one after watching your gliders, beautiful how they just float in the air! I live in the mountains and i have a few places i would like to attempt to fly a glider! One more question for you, have you ever put a micro camera on one to record video from the glider or would that weigh the glider down to much? Thank you, 🇺🇸🐾🐾🐾🖖
@Concerned Citizen all true! However, after training is finished if the LADY is still airworthy, one can fine tune the CG back of the recommended spot and remove 1/2 of the recommended wingtip washout to turn the LADY into a highly precision thermal dector! I've had several and the last one came in very light due to some balsa swap and careful glue management. It is anything but sluggish, however can be made to fly slow and docile with a CG adjustment and some added ballast! The LADY is a good choice for a beginner!
All the local fliers go to a site about 4 miles down the coast. It’s got a car park right by the slope and a huge landing area. I fly from my spot because I can walk there from home, so don’t need to use my car.
Must get building, must get building, must get building..... repeat......
John you're an inspiration for us all.
Many thanks for posting again.

I agree with that! ❤️
Perfect 👌
Thank you! I’m so lucky that my wife comes out and films my flying. The compliments mean I get to go out flying more often..

What a great video. That glider design looks SO RIGHT. Beautiful lines. Terrific Camera work and John has the thing on a string. Bravo. Z
When John retires he'll be streaming live from 9 to 5 Britain time. I'll be watching.
These videos are so peaceful to watch !

Thank you for your kind words and watching the videos!
Beautiful filming and music arrangement. Thanks.
Hi John,
That was some nice graceful flying. Great way to start off a Tuesday morning. Hi to Katherine. Both of you stay safe.
Love it..such an elegant flyer, like the leprechaun..

Very nice job you two. You inspire us all. Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely beautiful!! Motor-less flight is just so lovely - sometimes difficult to describe, impossible to resist!!

Haha thanks Brad. All is good here and looks like some good flying weather coming up...
Lovely aircraft and great flying!

Thanks again Alan. I’m going to try out a new model today...
Love this model so much. Gorgeous flight!
Each model better than the other, great job!
You are the master John. Nice video. Thank You!
Thank you!
Great camera work 👌

Beautiful as always. The glider looks lighter than air!

That is so freaking beautiful to watch that fly, absolutely gorgeous and relaxing and astonishing. GREAT VIDEO, LOVE IT.
Thank you!
Olá Jonh, inspirado em seus voos eu adquiri um planador, um Concept F5J fiquei muito contente um grande abraço para você.
Another great vid thanks John.
I like the geodesic wing of my alt 1m. Can. You recommend a 1- 1.5m glider with a geodesic wing? I need a challenge.
Another mesmerizing video... great camera work! I love your channel. Thanks.
Thank you for watching!

She is a real beauty, looks nice, flies easily ... wonderfull capture!
What a great built! 👍❤️
I like the covering effect on the wing leading edge, is it painted red on the yellow or have you skillfully applied red covering just to the leading edge?
Thank you. It’s two different colours of covering material. But it wasn’t too hard to do as the join is along the main wing spar.
Hi John, do you have a kit for this model or plans please. I would love to build this! Regards, Duane.
Hi there Duane, unfortunately not. I just drew a basic outline and then made all the detail up as I built it. Glad you like it though!
That's a shame but what a fantastic looking glider!
everything outstanding, as always !!!
Wonderful John
Is it a one piece wing ? And what's the span please
Thanks Ron. It’s a two piece 122” wing.
Where can I find plans for this build. And your other ones
Hi there, unfortunately I don’t have the skill to draw up proper plans. I just do a basic outline and then make all the detail as I build.
@@SlopeRCGliders oh that's sad but amazing as well had you build any model from plans of others?
Hey John. Does the deep section at the front fuselage have a aerodynamic effect or is it just for styling?
It’s really just for styling. But the deep curved triangular section makes for a very light and strong structure. There is no aerodynamic reason for it.
So impressive. Where is your slop located?
It’s Cornwall in the U.K.
I love it like the Leprechaun. Greetings from Germany
just pause it on 0:04 -- what a beautiful picture !
Love that ship kit ? where is this?
Hi there, this one is my own design. I’m flying in Cornwall U.K.
Where do you get the wing rubber bands from?
Where can I buy this glider? Very beautiful!
It was just a one-off experimental build
Beautiful as allways
How do you find time for building and yourube
It doesn’t take me long to build an aircraft and the flying slope is just a short walk from my house.
@@SlopeRCGliders ah I see
Fantastic ....Magic Glider🌠😉👍
Where is this beach located?
It’s in Cornwall U.K.
Really love your gliders, nice video! How many hours into building one of those bad boy?
I do tend to build quite fast. One like this probably takes me about a week.

John, very nice model.
Thank you.
Very good!!!!👏👏👏👏👏
Would that be the Brittany coast John?
It’s Cornwall
Looks nice anyway.
Very smooooth.
Very nice glider!
Always kind of surprised not to see people watching or others flying too.

A question to John. Have you ever dropped an airplane over the slope and found out that you had the receiver turned off? I have done it.😭
I have and also had the battery fall out of the receiver mid flight. 😣
I had a second hand aircraft once, that had a switch on the side. As I threw it, my hand turn it off...
Majestic.
Great glider
Beautiful
IT MUST BE A GREAT PLACE TO FLY I BET YOU DONT KNOW WHAT A MOTOR IS REGARDS AUSSIE ON
Vintage glider, I wonder how many actually know this?...

Do you ever get an audience when you fly? And does anyone come up to you, saying "Hey, I've seen your videos!"?
Yes and yes.But not very often.
Very good!!!!👏👏👏👏👏
