I have always been a Nintendo fanboy, BUT... all this talk about asset rip has got me feeling a type of way. I believe the mainline pokemon games have gotten worse and worse every iteration. We have asked for an openworld pokemon game that shows us the world of pokmeon in a new way somewhat like how breath of the wild did for zelda. Sword and shield was a huge let down in my eyes and violet and scarlet literally changed nothing. I have been playing Pal World for the last couple days and can honestly say it is sooooo much fun and is exactly what I have been waiting for from a monster collecting game. As far as the whole asset rip debate I feel like there is no reason to get so upset about designs when the core gameplay is so different. League to Dota, Valo to CS GO, Forza to Gran Turismo, all videogames will have their mirrors but that doesn't invalidate someone liking one over the other or both. People who are complaining about this game need to get over it and just have fun playing video games. It aint that deep.

The whole argument that Palworlds sheep looks too much like Pokémon's sheep is fucking stupid, they're both based off sheep. Nintendo doesnt own the rights to what a sheep looks like. All Pokémon are based off either living or mythological creatures and if you're using a similar art style then there's going to be similarities
Would be very interesting to see what nintendo finds within their investigation, that's for sure.
Personally speaking, I think IP law won't be breached as there's enough change from Palworlds perspective for it to be their own; but we can only wait and see

Same with how the Pokemon company doesn't own the right to Anubis which Lucario is based on.
Honestly I have had less bugs and glitches with pal world then I have with Pokemon violet I have played less than half of the price for the game and I'm enjoying it immensely and I'm accomplished like nothing in the story besides being the first boss still been having a ton of fun
It's almost as if some company has been milking a franchise for so long has been progressively made worse and worse video games because they assume that just because kids won't care that those of us that grew up with the franchise won't
Very good points. Seems to be once a franchise has enough money, they loose the passion of making something unique.
I've been playing Palworld for the past few days and it is genuinely more fun than the latest few generations of Pokemon. Somehow in early-access it is less buggy than the fully released Scarlet and Violet which were also double the price. I really don't understand why a lot of die hard Pokemon fans are trying to be knights for the company and bring down Palworld when it is such a good thing. The existence of Palworld means that Pokemon now have competition and have to actually try with their games instead of repeating the same formulae over and over again but somehow getting it wrong and making it worse, yet for some reason pokemon fans don't want this?
Also I don't understand how people can argue that Palworld's sheep, wolf, and Anubis look like Pokemon's sheep, wolf and Anubis. Two of them are just animals that look like their respective animals that's it, you can't really copyright that. And if anything Anubis from Palworld looks NOTHING like Lucario because it looks like THE EGYPTIAN GOD ANUBIS, not a blue dog that stands on two legs.
Pokemon fans are gonna freak out when they find out that there are pals based on mammoths, birds, and dinosaurs because apparently the pokemon company has already copyrighted those IPs (along with every other animal in existence)

Well, if you think Palworld copied Pokemon, well, I hate to tell you about what Pokemon did to Dragon Quest, but even harder.
Great video. But honestly, I doubt the investigation from Nintendo will lead to anything. Both Nintendo and Pocketpair have their headquaters in Japan, so they follow local laws and Japan does not really have something like fair use. So if Nintendo had a solid case, they would have taken legal action ages ago. But hey, I could be wrong.
Very interesting point. Truth be told I just hope the investigation flops and both parties can focus on making more games
Palworld is fun, but it is Pokémon lol and If they used ai art, they may be toasted legally - not going to stop me having fun gaming, though
It's not Pokemon lol. I'm glad you enjoy Palworld but it's way different than Pokemon. It's got a more ARK/BoTW take on it.

@@MissCourt The only Pokemon game that comes close to Palworld is Legends: Arceus. Yet that doesn't really compare either. Lots of others would agree with me.

I'm sorry. I've seen some avatars that look similar but your examples in the first half of the video don't look similar. There are different colors, they are missing physical attributes and have extra physical attributes.
At worst, some of The pictures are about as similar as two different drawings by different artists of the same underlying reality. But most are not even that close.
Guess it's a matter of an individuals opinion pal. I've seen people argue the similarities but also see people say there's none. Seems a subjective topic atm
@RBHD93 well to be concrete, the mecca example one has wings and the other doesn't and they're different colors. One cat creatures yellow while the other one is orange and one cat creature has a white spot and a different black pattern.
The standard often used for a difference between two works is a 3% difference in the original. You can't copyright a style of artwork.
The artwork of the Pokemon versus Pikachu it's like two different artists painting the Eiffel Tower using Monet's or Van Gogh's style.
And I think Nintendo knows this and that's why they haven't been able to sue.

The thing is, Pokemon itself copied Shin Megami Tensei and Dragon Quest. Nintendo and gamefreak are afraid to sue Palworld for Pokemon likeness simply because it could backfire. Pokemon could get sued back by SMT and Dragon Quest for the same reason.
