ADHD people are often late, unemployed, own their own business, entrepreneur, risk takers, gamblers, and outside the box thinkers.

I'm sure i'll figure out a solution but I'm still trying to understand and research it well enough, i suggest you find help bc rn i still cant even read a page in a book without losing attention or remembering, this thing doesn't get better bro, act on it while you're young and be better than me you got this!

@@-SimonRiley yea thats why i dont like pills, so i've tried things; so i pushed my last meal of the day to 4pm (my biggest meal is at lunch), at 6pm i workout, at 8-10pm i turn off all lights (sometimes i like to game so i do 10pm for latest), if i cant sleep and i toss and turn then i stand up and write all my thoughts down on a journal, when i write everything down it seems to help calm me down. I also listen to adhd ASMR while sitting at my desk, its the no talking asmr where they mostly scratch their skin and stuff. This has been working lately im still fucked up but its better than before when i do these things. Idk if it works for but worth a try maybe

I've done all this. My problem is about 3-6 months in I go back to my old habits. I quit exercising, eat worse, forget my vitamins/supplements like magnesium once and I might get back on track for a couple days and then I quit those too. I don't mean to I get caught up in life with 2 small children and I get distracted so easily even when following everything you said. I just cant stick to it.

Same and even if I do stick with it, after a short time I’m thoroughly exhausted and can barely get out of bed, don’t wash, don’t dress, don’t cook or eat much at all, don’t drink enough and spend most of my time either sleeping or scrolling on UA-cam, which wouldn’t be great if you’ve got kids to look after. Medication helps me to a degree but it’s still hard work to try and keep any kind of routine going

It’s interesting how ppl really don’t understand how we really work….everything gets old and boring… we can spend tons of time trying to make it feel appealing but how long does that last….back to the drawing board over and over.
I set up my supplements and (systems) for a month, I get through a month and start gagging on the supplements, take a break and don’t realize my whole routine has left the building…and time is not accounted for so I go to sleep 30 and wake up at 53 in a crisis wondering where all the time went and the symptoms got much much worse….harder and harder to mask and get back on the damn task, list, journal, calendars, alarms, behavioral and donkey.
      Be well. ❤

    Journaling!
Brain dump the start and end of every day for 10-20 minutes is all it takes. Jotting down notes or anxieties so you get them out of your system.
It’s an exercise in itself. Muscle memory as fingers forming unique individual letters - like doing it by hand - increases muscle memory and can help decrease anxiety.
Plus if you carry a small one or a notes pad on your phone - you can capture great ideas on the fly.
It’s a meditation in itself: handwriting. It can focus the conscious while you let your subconscious relax.
Output over input. Try turning down the volume of the inputs in your brain by turning up the heat on the outputs. Shine your light outputting more than you take in or constantly rebalance that with working out or taking frequent walks or skiing or water sports or pickleball or fun with friends. Novelty. Meet a challenge together.

Many people with ADHD have low B12, vitamin D and iron due to poor absorption from SIBO and leaky gut. Also mast cell activation, low level brain inflammation and high histamine (which all lower dopamine), which can be helped by healing the gut and taking natural mast cell stabilisers like curcumin.
High protein will help with lower levels of neurotransmitters, exercise increases blood flow to the prefrontal cortex and avoiding refined carbs will prevent blood sugar spikes and crashes which add to mood and focus issues.
It makes sense since ADHD meds like adderall and Ritalin increase dopamine in the brain which is needed for proper blood flow to the prefrontal cortex

Still, I love the job and never thought I would say that about any job, especially teaching!

I know what you mean about the stigma. It doesn't take me long to get bored of a job, so working temp jobs is perfect for me. I always told myself I'd have to eventually make myself choose a permanent job, but at some point I thought, you know, why not be a permanent temp? I can do whatever I want with my life. And I've been temping ever since. The stigma of being a temp at 40 years old is definitely something you have to suck up and learn to accept. Can't base my self-worth off of other people's perception of me, that's for sure.

I want to be a full time artist, but as i need money to pay my bills now, i don't have the time nor energy to pursue that ambition on the side, and therefor i am stuck with a job that is driving me both crazy and soulless by the day.
My dream has become a hobby while my health is declining. As advised by my neurologist, i need 10-12 hours of sleep per night because i run out of energy real fast and use a lot of time to recharge. It gets depressing real fast when i keep that sleep schedule as that makes my life into a literal work-sleep-work-sleep nightmare. I'm often lacking in sleep cause i want a life.
I ofc need a good and helpful diet as well, but my adhd gives me no dopamine from food, often half way through my meal which i could be very much enjoying, it becomes the most horrible food i've ever put in my mouth, leaving me to stop eating. It's like i repulsively grow bored with it. Doesn't help that i completely forget to eat most days because i'm too focused on what ever i'm doing while leaving my body to adapt to ignoring hunger signs. I'm also not able to eat big meals when i'm stressed, too focused, or anxious. Which my job is an expert at making me feel for 8 hours while having me walk on average 13-16k steps a day.
I barely eat anything on work days, and on those few days off i desperately try to do art and proceeds to ignore all hunger signs as i'm too busy with my art.
I recently bought a blender to make high calorie shakes, so i'm hoping that will help a bit. I have a very fast metabolism, as in, my doctor actually had me do some extreme food intake tests to check. I'm slightly underweight because of all of this combines and i therefor am not allowed any adhd meds. It doesn't feel good having the people around me look at my underweight body absolutely wondering if i have an eating disorder. I don't. If anything, i got disordered eating. If only i could just teleport all the food i need into my stomach. I want do gain weight so i can take my meds. It's just really difficult when your brain is working against you just because it can't find a damn dopamine hit in it.
    Guess i'll try magnesium next.

You might value the importance of stable income (job) more as you mature.
Young people brought up in rich countries often lack the willpower to find a goal tied to a career and achieve it.
In the past, the only people who could do what they wanted all day everyday were kings and other elites.
Someone has to work for the ones who do not.

It took me a long time to figure out a job that wouldn't just be a hyperfixiation for me. I had a lot of talents and everyone always told me I should persue something I was really good at.
But those talents never lead me to something I wanted to do.
It wouldn't know until I worked for a forestry program. I spent the day cutting the heads off some invasive plants. I was in nature all day, learning about this wetland that was restored. I wanted to restore ecosystems like they did.
But for some reason I had to find the job title, Ecosystem Restoration Ecologist, in a random youtube comment because Google refused to show what I was asking for.

At a job I love and have symptoms… emotional dis regulation- snappy- not able to use my words effectively to stay in good standing, complaints of me being too honest or blunt… it just rolls out and is the truth and I don’t see it as worth being fired when it’s obvious facts I’m saying. Still love my career but could be hard after being fired over a billion times for the same thing…why? We have no hindsight or foresight!! We forget what happened the last time and don’t think of consequences for saying or doing things again… it’s an impulse. These symptoms cause the depression because we can’t seem to stop this same train for derailing a million times.
How do we secure our future and reach our goals? If we can stay the task and forget our goals and forget the behaviors we wrote down to do to reach the goal and we find our list of things to do and have to behave and then forget why we are doing all of that…. Hey!! It’s to reach some goal….🤔 now what goal was that? We have a million!!

Doesn't help much. Neurofeedback is best from my experience.
I do agree with doing what you love.
Being depressed with a poor routine and without training really doesn't help.
