I am extremely lucky to live in North Carolina. I live about an hour and a a half away from Carowinds. It's so fun to go, especially since my parents have to take me often for the Carolina Clogging Classic.
Cedar Fair really did wonders to Carowinds. What started off as one of their smaller, mid-tier parks, is now one of Cedar Fair's top parks, joining in the top tier with Cedar Point, Kings Island, and Canada's Wonderland. Can't wait to see how that hotel experience is at Carowinds and Canada's Wonderland.
@@michaezell4607 I mean Michigan's Adventure is very profitable for Cedar Fair. That park actually brings a good amount of revenue for the company from what I have heard but you do make a good point. But I mean will Cedar Faor dump those parks, kinda unlikely.
I remember Intimidator coming out when I was in middle school. When you're in a chorus or band class in NC, you got to go to the park every year! It had everyone buzzing. I think it still holds up today, especially if you want big thrills and want to avoid anything that inverts. Fury is great, but Intimidator will always have a special place in my heart.
1:27 I’m passionate about this park, so I have to say that actually it was rethemed to Planet Snoopy in 2010 (the same year as Intimidator,) and then re-themed again to Camp Snoopy in 2018, last year.
aden gomaz that was only at Cedar Point. Dorney Park, ValleyFair, and Worlds of Fun. Cedar Fair abandoned the bears after acquiring Knott’s Berry Farm with the rights of Peanuts. Prior to Cedar Fair, Carowinds had Hanna Barbara and Nickelodeon.
I really liked that ride, it's was different and also if fans of Carowinds will also remember the oaken bucket, the ragging bull, smuf island, the train, the monorail , the old jalopies cars, the paddle boat, the log flume, etc. I love Carowinds been going there since the 80's use to live right down the street from Carowinds.
@no way If it makes you feel any better, B&M has been using that restraint setup for their big hypercoasters since Apollo's Chariot debuted in 1999 without incident. Those clamshell restraints staple you into your seat.
@@drewgeyerr Fury does, of course, but to give additional credit to the B&M Clamshell some of the older B&M hypercoasters actually don't have seatbelts. B&M didn't think they'd need them, and so far they haven't.
I feel bad... I went there and I only went on 2 rides since... I have bad anxiety and on both I was terrified and trembling but somehow from the shock was a little thrill. Especially the Hurler. I went on The Hurler and the Carolina Gold rusher. Also when you go if you stay for a few hours and leave a electronic in the car be prepared in case for a heat warning message XD it happened to my tablet and it was the first time I have ever seen that and I almost screamed. It was cool enough to work in a few minutes though. Like I touched the screen and it was HOT but I was like “well meh” and I clicked the on button and yea... (it’s fine I’m typing with that exact device XD) but oof
We can't get enough of Carowinds!!! It was amazing seeing Copperhead Strike come together on construction tours over the winter and then being able to ride it!!! CS is a great addition to the park. Now the question is.....What about Rip Roaring Rapids?????
I feel bad for Intimidator. I really enjoy B&M hypers, and I wanted to show Intimidator some love when I was there last week, but even a back-row ride was kind of...meh. And Fury is *right there,* making it hard to choose to stick with Intimidator. If you're still working your way up the height scale and find Fury a bit much, I'm sure Intimidator is a great alternative, but if you're not, it's easy to ignore.
Patrick Richardson I think the trims are there for the theming. Restrictor Plates are used by NASCAR to limit the horsepower, preventing cars from dangerous speeds. While Dale Earnhardt harshly criticized Restrictor Plates, he was one of the best at Restrictor Plate racing. If you wanna learn more, check out EmpLemon’s video on Dale Earnhardt, it’s pretty goodS
Love to see you working with Taylor again. Hopefully, some day you can make a big USA trip and then you can run up and give him a big dorky hug just like he gave to you.
Jesse Adams I’m guessing they’re not gonna give Vortex the floorless treatment because it’s a *STAND* up coaster. What we need instead is a dive coaster, because the holding brake would be like stopping time.
@@DoswarePictures Vortex is special to me cause it was the first coaster I rode at Carowinds in the 90s but sadly I'm waiting for the news she's gonna get axed and scrapped. I never knew about this park! I always go to cedar point which is a 2hr drive away from me in michigan. Do you think this place is worth a trip some time?
I was there recently. Fury 325, copperhead strike, and afterburn are all absolutely amazing (and smooth!) coasters. And Fury in the front row is one of the best roller coaster experiences I’ve had (the ride is long and the view is great). I recommend going during scarowinds (october). I’d say it’s worth it.
Just a quick correction: The children's area was changed to Planet Snoopy in 2010 where it was just the Peanuts overlay. It became Camp Snoopy in 2018, and they added attractions to it.
I hated Halloween at Carowinds. The free roaming theme park workers were all on roller skates that shot sparks out the back. Fury 325 was awesome though. Now I want to go back after seeing this video.

super looking forward to advances in theming. it competes to some extent with dollywood, so i think cedar fair knows they need to really get carowinds in gear for that reason. plus they get a ton of tax rebates due to its contribution to the hospitality industry in charlotte so over the next 10 or so years they'll definitely become one of the best cedar fair parks imo
A day's admission? Right now it's $49.99 Saturdays (plus parking), and $35 on Sundays (includes parking) during their fall promotion which ends October 27 when you purchase online in advance. It's normally $52 when buying online in advance during Spring/Summer (at least it was this year). They do offer a JR rate (under 48" tall) & SR rate (over 62y/o) as well that's cheaper. Admission includes all the coasters, most rides, and the water park (when open). There are some up-charge attractions, like the Skycoaster and Slingshot that are extra fee. When the park opens for Winterfest next month, most of the coasters and some rides will not be open during the event. The park opens again for the season late March (usually the last weekend of March) each year.

What you have to take into consideration though is that The Flying Dutchman is heavily themed. The ride itself is a bit on the short side (especially tha lst part is way too short) but I like the great atmosphere that is created.
Yeah most of the Paramount Parks that Cedar Fair acquired are all similar. Kings Island, Kings Dominion, Canada's Wonderland, Carowinds are all similar with their rides. Although California's Great America is not really the most sinilar to those parks I'll say.
