      Also you just said the word intergalactic and I broke right into a Beastie boys riff of intergalactic planetary. After that I didn't really hear very much but I can only assume it was Dodge sucks blah blah blah Jeep sucks blah blah blah screw Fiat blah blah blah pretty much the same stuff I say every day at work 😁

      @South Main Auto Repair LLC lol not kidding dodge sucks. Low oil fails emissions test never heard of a car fail emissions because it was low on oil. But since the smart engineers from dodge and so on say nope we putting a check engine light for everything screw the people, mean while honda says we put a light that says low oil so you know you need oil and don't break your engine, dodge goes keep driving that check engine means nothing or maybe a bad o2 sensor you good we need you to buy a new engine just keep going until it stops running we hide that oil light behind the check engine because people that drive American cars know that light means stop and spend 2 hours trying to figure out what's wrong or just tow your car because you a few drops of oil low.

      @@HouseCallAutoRepair I just put a new cylinder head on an 18 model Wrangler with the pentastar 3.6 that Chrysler refused to warranty even though they’ve known about this issue for years and still haven’t resolved it. Just had to tell a woman with a Dodge Journey with similar mileage the same bad news. Why anyone would buy a new Chrysler product is beyond me. Between the garbage quality, secure gateway module, and now this mess we should all be lobbying our customers to stay away from Chrysler.

    I am in Massachusetts town where the local Subaru dealer has been disabling the telemetry on the 2022 models. Something to do with the new Right to Repair laws. Caught the article on Yahoo news for what it is worth.

    Absolutely mind boggling that one has to spend that kind of money to get a new key. When I purchased our 2019 300, the dealer said I needed "Key insurance". Are you fricking kidding me? It's been a good car, but yeah, the manufactures are getting stupid.

  • @Jpilgrim30

    Typical Chrysler tomfoolery. If only they would put this much effort on fixing the heads on their 3.6 engines then maybe they could solve an actual problem that causes their customers major headaches.

      I suspect he was referring to reading the raw dump of a virgin EEPROM, and transferring it to current one that was installed in the vehicle so that it effectively becomes "new" to accept additional keys.

    ALL mechanics on UA-cam should discourage consumers from buying Chrysler products due to undesirable future expenses!

    Smartest car thief uses a tow truck. Unless you are the vehicle's owner, odds are you don't question a vehicle being towed. Also, anti-theft isn't an immediate concern, cause you just pick the hole thing up an go.

    • @AS-ky4kk
      @AS-ky4kk 2 роки тому

      The gateway modules are more to protect the vehicle from hacking. There were hackers who showed how easy it was to hack in to your vehicle while driving and tell the car to turn right and crash in to the ditch. It's like a firewall as we move in to more autonomous and telematic equipped vehicles.

    Friend of mine was quoted $800.00 for new Ram 1500 key.
    Worse yet I called to check a price, availability one day in case I needed one bad enough. Well they had 20 on backorder.
    TOld the parts guy I could fill the order the next day with OEM keys to them but they said they cabt.
    Funny as they can do it just they choose not to.
    Heck they could do it and still make $$$ on each key.. Anymore one has to wonder.
