The PCM master at work! 😎
I wouldn't go that far... but thanks Ivan!
IVAN? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?
A lot of shops decide what can and can't be done based solely on whether it's profitable for them or not. Glad to see some willing to put in the effort to get this done, it's not very common.
Another great learning vid Keith! More great tools! 😅
There has to be some good money in being able to both fix and program those things, some of them are reaching 35 years old, and many cars survive that long.
Yes of course but it's a bit of a niche market and every single job can end up as a no fix or miss diagnosis. I do this in the UK, Vauxhall (GM) only, but simply for the reasons of the love of the marque and trying to keep old stuff alive.
I've done electronics as a hobby since I was 11, in 1969. It was more fun back then, but I still do modern stuff in retirement.
Did you work in the I.T field as that's the sort of stuff I was doing on PC and computer Networks using 9pin 25 pin serial connectors and using Hex Editors and programming Eproms etc.👍
Yes, I went to school for CCNP and Cyber Security. But I didn't do any of this board level stuff in school.
I just knew you had to have an IT background (cisco) its why some I.T people could make a fairly easy transition on to modern cars as long as they have a passion for vehicles which are basically PC's with a network topology nowadays. I started on X.25 & frame relay and Token Ring which had terminators similar idea to canbus 120/60 ohm resistors .👍
Just clone one of them yesterday on a 2010 CTs calliac
Throw a bone like Scanner Danner did let's see a couple of premium videos...I joined scanner Danner 6 years ago and I'm never going to stop subscription.
The other shop said it can be done.
Keith’s response: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Very cool video enjoy watching you work
I see you have figured out a kind of hack, and a way to monetize it. Thats awesome. I just get a matching module or a new one. I have done that with Nissan. I just had to navigate the security software (keys).
Nice
it's like watching a mad scientist open a portal to inter-dimensional hell, but no it's just working on cars, which I guess a lot of times is the same thing.
Another win for the good guys, well done borther.
Touché!
What tool do you recommend for GM work? Is Hex prog good? I have IO terminal but it does not cover a lot of models outside GM. Like you mentioned not a lot of support. I have launch xprog 3 but it only does GM ecu’s, not BCM or TCM.
Just gotta buy em all to have all the coverage, I unfortunately buy a tool to do a single module sometimes, it just the reality of being a "hero" shop.
@@L1Training yes, I have been buying them one at time as I expand my field of work
Thats slick!
Keith it's really nice to see you making videos again I look forward to your videos and I'm considering joining your monthly subscription
😂😂
I ran across a 2021 gmc terrain yesterday that would not enter windshield camera calibration , I found the car was built in Mexico and gds/sps showed it has a engineering and model year mismatch. You ever seen that?
Love watching you do ur job ur very talented
Wow... badda boom... Nice. Love watchin' bro.
Great video Keith!! Do you always follow up with SPS after a clone? I realize that I might be wrong but I assumed the clone would transfer all necessary calibrations and data?
Not so much wirh every tool, as I pointed out 1 sector was not cloned.
@L1Training I somehow missed that part. Ill watch again. Thank you sir!!
@@chipvickery5078 I forgot I mentioned it on the website version, not the YT version. My bad.
@@L1Training no worries! I'll check that out. Your website is badass!! Thank you!
