What I love about Nolan's trilogy is that Bruce gets his ending. He finally let go of the pain and grief but also understood Batman needs to continue by handing the mantle off
Which makes no damn sense, that's the one thing Batman doesn't want. His whole purpose to to be there for Gotham so no little boy goes through what Bruce Wayne did...he would never fake his death just to ditch Gotham and live a boring old normal life. Bruce grows old and is still always Batman.
I’ve also heard, several times that Bale was virtually offered a blank check to do a 4th movie, but he refused. He said it wasn’t about money, he felt he’d given all he could as Batman and it was time to move on
Had there been a fourth, we can safely assume that Robin wouldn't be used. Nightwing would have been the identity used with a version of Batman Beyond Bruce in the cave.
Part of the genius of Christopher Nolan is that he made this movie that he knew was going to be watched by fans of Batman and still managed to hide an entire villain.
Not really. During Summer 2011, on-set photos found their way onto the internet of Marion Cotillard in the Talia/League Of Shadows outfit. So a lot of people already knew the twist was coming. But it was unsure if she was a good guy, villain, or mix (since Talia is back and forth on good and evil). I think now the twist is easier to see since the young Talia or what people think is a young Bane is played by a really young Joey King. Joey King is now more famous and stuff/well known than back when The Dark Knight Rises released. So if they recognize Joey King, they should be able to figure out stuff that the child of Ra's is a girl, not a boy.

I honestly love villains like Bane. It is in many ways easy to understand the lunatic that just wants to watch the world burn. But when you find someone who is clearly intelligent, thoughtful and in complete control of his emotions, the fact that they have still chosen violence as the logical course of action just seems so much more menacing.
Stuck in the pit, Bane never experienced some of the simplest childlike wonders the world can offer. Perhaps given more time, he might have come to cherish it. Or not.
I don't know if you realised this, or if anyone's told you yet but... The giant hole in which we see a metaphorical ghost of Ra's Al Ghul, where people climb out and are reborn fresh and with new eyes to look upon the world IS this movie's Lazarus Pit. They made it a metaphorical resurrection rather than a literal one. Also, can we take a moment to appreciate the moments of character breaking Catwoman does? How Anne Hathaway can capture a person acting as another person while acting as another person? Her playing the victim once the cops raid the restaurant. The tonal shift in her whole body and demeanour on that safe cracking scene the moment the mask falls and she drops the act with a facetious "Oops... no-one said it was uncrackable..." Genius.
Never thougth of the Lazarus Pit... woah. That is genious. I love how, while Nolan is doing his own thing; he is interpeting Batman for a 'realistic world'... he DOES do it from a deep love of the source material. He is not saying 'ok, how can I do this better'... but rather 'Ok we have seen the comics, watch the cartoons... how can I do something new, BUT still be Batman?' Renewing apreciation for Nolan.
It's three things. It's the Lazarus Pit. It's the well that he fell down as a child that made him feel helpless and drew out his worst fears. And it's a physical manifestation of his grief. It's the way Alfred sees Bruce. Like he's in a pit of despair that he can't climb out of because Batman is his prison guard. He's not reborn as a new Batman when he makes it out the pit. He's reborn as a new Bruce Wayne. Someone who is ready to move on from Batman and live a life. So this movie series begins with Bruce falling down a pit and rising up as the Batman. Then it ends with Batman falling down a pit and rising back up as Bruce Wayne.
Michael Caine as alfred in this movie has some impressive and emotional moments. Acting masterful class Tom Hardy is AWESOME as Bane. That intimidating voice, that body language... that way of being so expressive despite the mask. Impressive.
I watched The Dark Knight Rises as part of a watching all three Dark Knight movies back to back on opening night. When we saw Bruce and Selena at the end of The Dark Knight Rises, we all cheered. We all want our heroes to have a happy ending, and we saw Bruce finally found his peace. Nolan wanted his Batman trilogy to be based in realism. When you die, you die. Most of the effects are practical. Very little was CGI. Save Adam West and Kevin Conroy (RIP,) this is my favorite Batman portrayal. You have to play Bruce Wayne right, and Bale did it. When I saw him in American Psycho and Equilibrium (2002,) I knew he was going to be right for the job.
Equalibrium is such an underrated movie and such a good film. As a teenage I was working at a movie theater and the movie came out to the theater and I went to see it. When I heard Christian Bale was Batman I thought he was the perfect part for the role as well. I also lived in Gurnee Illinois 45 minutes north of Chicago. In Waukegan Illinois which was 20 minutes away from where I lived they had a straight road for miles that no one used the road that often. They used the road for the Batmobile police chase. At the end of the road they made a fake Batcave for the Tumbler to go through. When the Batmobile goes into the cave they used the cave at a sound stage in Chicago
I saw this meme a while ago that I totally agree with. It showed how every villain broke a different piece of Batman throughout the films. Rai's broke his senses Scarecrow broke his mind Dent broke his hope Joker broke his spirit Bane broke his body Thalia broke his heart Yet he kept coming back. Batman rocks 🤘🏼🤘🏼
You know, something that's really interesting about The Dark Knight Trilogy is that Christopher Nolan's films always--ALWAYS--have some wild ass plot twist that comes out of nowhere. Except that the wild ass plot twists in these three movies are taking something wild-ass and making it work the right way all along. And a lot of Batman fans think that these movies DON'T have the plot twist in them, because we, as Batman fans, knew going into the movies that Ra's Al Ghul isn't a fan of dying, Harvey Dent isn't the White Knight, and Ra's Al Ghul had daughters, not sons. I absolutely respect how these movies will kind of shy away from the more fantastical elements of these characters, but they don't abandon them entirely, they just make them metaphorical. Like how Bane's prison... *IS* the Lazarus Pit. The part of Batman that calls itself Bruce Wayne was dead for eight years. Then lowered into a pit... but the guy who rose from the pit wasn't Batman. That was Bruce Wayne. Fully alive and in complete control, for the first time since Crime Alley. And it was Bruce Wayne who gave Batman permission to step back and say, "I have done enough. My parents would be proud of me."
One of the many things Nolan did with these movies that I've rarely seen is developing a plot that keeps you constantly re-evaluating what you think is really happening.
I remember watching this in the theatre and assuming that when the bat is chasing the tumblers through the streets it was CGI and thinking that it looked amazing and so real, but it looks real because it is real: they mounted the full size bat on a rig and drove it through the streets. Nolan's reliance on practical effects and minimal use of CGI is part of what makes them feel so real, other directors should take note.
I love how in this version of Catwoman, her goggles become like ears when she puts them on her head. It's very subtle but quite clever. Also love how the Lazarus Pit is changed to be more metaphorical. All adding to that feeling of realism.
Her reaction and energy is sooo the same that we all had when this movies came out. With the speculation and all about what would happen, what character will appear and trying to interpret all the symbolisms. Best reaction hands down!
1:04:40 you might have missed it, but at the end when Lucius is going over the autopilot systems saying it was broken, the technicians say the autopilot was fixed and he asked who repaired it and the techs say the computer logs shows it was done by Bruce Wayne.
43:58 Nolan took some liberties with the characters backstories. Ra's being immortal in the comics became "immortal" in the movie as "his mission" lives on through others. Another being that the pit as Bane's prison and a sort of Lazarus Pit because people who escape it are "Reborn" when they make the climb.
I'm so glad you brought up Maggie Gyllenhaal's performance in a positive light, most reactors don't give her a chance because they're attached to the first movie, but she's a brilliant actress and did amazingly well ❤
So theres a part near the end that Fox talks about the autopilot on the Batwing being completed by "someone." So it's implied that Bruce escapes, and the autopilot takes the bomb away.
What's weird, though, is that they show him in the cockpit right before the bomb goes off. I think that was an editing mistake. I think he was supposed to have bailed out when the Batwing bursts through that building. I also wish we didn't actually see him in Florence, but that's a minor nitpick.
@@isipscognac It was not a mistake, they did it on purpouse to make you think that he died, then the reveal in the end is suppose to make you think 'how did he survive' and for those that paid attention to the autopilate thing its like ooh thats how, and also if we saw him escape in the last minute then and not actually think he was dead then the whole funeral last words thing would not have been as impactful to the viewer etc so yes it was absolutely not a mistake.
I actually haven't seen this movie....but part of our nuclear triad is bombs delivered by aircraft, in so it's definitely possible. Drop the bomb, go Mach speed, you should be fine. Especially if the vehicle is hardened against EMP, which I assume it was. 🙂
For Bane's voice: Tom Hardy had a small mic built into his vest that was recording the on-set audio. They then used that as a reference and re-recorded his dialog. The way they got the voice was with him doing the accent, and speaking into a paper towel roll. Add a touch of reverb and distortion to give it a speaker/amplifier sound, and a lot of bass to make it nice and boom-y. Tom Hardy originally said he was just doing a "northern Irish" accent, but later admitted the voice was basically just him doing a Sean Connery impression.
He definitely showed that there's more to Bane then just being a roided-up thug. He showed that there is a brain behind all that chemically enhanced brawn. And that he's more than just the the guy who's one claim to notorious fame is breaking Batman's spine.
@@rushmaverick1923 That is bane. Nolan just portrayed him mostly correct. Bane broke batmans spine BECAUSE he was clever, he wore him down over the course of like a month in the comic, then broke him.
@@mouse7965 At the time this movie was made, Bane was still a relatively new character who had been introduced in the 90's just like Harley Quinn. So it was hard to add more depth to his character than what was already written less than 2 decades ago.
Miranda your energy is so contagious and I love your reactions to these and the other films you’ve watched. You’re great. Thanks for brightening my day! Btw I saw this in theaters when it came out. It was great but a little subdued because of the event in Colorado so things were a little bit surreal at that time.
You should title this series "Batman superfan watches Batman Begins/Batman: The Dark Knight/Batman Rises for the FIRST TIME", I feel like no one else I've seen their first time viewing has been as much of a Batman nerd, it's so much fun to watch! :D
I love the scene of Bruce and Selena dancing at the ball. It's a masked ball and Bruce doesn't wear a mask because Bruce *IS* the mask while Batman is his true self! I love that subtle detail.
There's also a masked ball in Batman Returns (1993) in which Bruce doesn't wear a mask, so I guess we have to give Tim Burton (or his screenwriter Daniel Waters) credit for that one.
I still think it would’ve been better if his name had been Terry McGinnis and the kid that he met in the boys home was his younger brother Matt. Then we definitely would’ve known what they were hinting towards. His middle name still could’ve been John since I don’t think they ever gave Terry a middle name in the comics or the animated series.
@@rushmaverick1923 Terry is biological son of bruce... And this Batman is young to have batman beyond story. (Michael keaton story would be perfect for Terry ,... But they stupidly fired Ben affleck a perfect comic accurate looking batman). No robin is one few things I hate about this trilogy... Nolan chose John Blake, to cover all robin at once... To me he foreshadowing Tim Drake robin, as he find the batman' identity by himself just like tim. Did you heard rumours of 4th movie of this series, if that happens I think Bruce batman gonna come back and Blake gonna be Red Robin. And step out being batman. Or Blake Batman gonna be temporary like other robins / azreal becomes Batman for short periods.
@@BATMAN-ys3re how about robin dick Grayson ? I know it’s supposedly to be Richard dick Grayson but it wouldn’t be that crazy of a change. And than his backstory is basically his parents were murdered by tony zuko In the circus like the comics except Bruce Wayne wasn’t there the night it happened and so in this universe dick Grayson became a cop to find zuko.
@@BATMAN-ys3re Terry being Bruce's son is one thing that Nolan could've changed in this trilogy. Most people only know about that from the JLU "Epilogue" episode. I had it in my head for the longest about how the movie should ended before that UA-cam channel was ever created. Terry "John" McGinnis being a cop and trying to get his brother, Matt, out of the foster system after both their parents died. Their parents are split up just like in the series and Terry lives with his dad, but then their dad dies as one of the causalities of the Joker and his followers from the events of The Dark Knight, just like their dad getting killed by the Jokerz in the series. Terry goes to live with his mom and brother, but then their Mom dies a few years later of something else. Terry being in the foster system for only a year before aging out and tries to get Matt out by becoming his legal guardian, but his juvie record makes it's difficult for him to prove that he's a responsible adult. and that leads into his character in The Dark Knight Rises, including Bruce leaving the legacy of Batman to him. (BTW, Bruce was already walking with a cane at the beginning of the movie, just like old Bruce from Batman Beyond, so it just makes more sense.)
Don't forget to thank Bob Kane and Bill Finger, the creators of Batman. Those comics got eight-year-old me through some rough times. This was also one of your funniest videos and I really enjoyed it. Gordon - "I never said Thank You." Batman - "And you'll never have to." Eight-year-old me - 😊❤
Bob Kane is a complete and utter fraud that stole credit for everything Batman related, and left the real creator, Bill Finger to die, penniless and alone. I have absolutely NO respect for Bob Kane and you shouldn't either.
Bane's voice was done live by Tom Hardy (Mad Max), but early screenings had people complain they couldnt understand him through the mask, so he redid it on a pro sound stage & dubbed the clearer dialogue, so you still get his facial expressions of him "saying" the lines. Speaking of watching it in theaters, my theater was rowdy during all "the moments", and nobody cared because the level of comradery was off the charts; everyone was 1 family. I've never experienced that since, and I dont think I ever will again.
Admittedly I was originally less impressed with this movie, but your enthusiasm is awesome enough to make me reconsider...Excellent reaction. Oh and - Chiro videos *raises hand* , dude I thought I was the only one, lol
The Dark Knight was so successful movie (one of the best movies ever in any genre) that Nolan could practically freely choose the actors for this movie.
@@rp1692 I was thinking more about "if we ask actor X if they were willing to take this role" the answer would have always been yes. I would assume that Nolan already has good enough reputation that studio sets very little limits.
I think one of my favorite points of symbolism in this movie is when he's climbing out of the pit and the bat's fly out. People think "oh well that's so convenient" but I always viewed it as the Dr said "fear will find you again" what's Bruce afraid of? What did he see when he was in the drug and opened the BOX in the first movie? MASTERPIECE

How could he make the entire trilogy so good? He’s Christopher Nolan! The guy’s films almost consistently hit the $1 billion worldwide mark (since The Dark Knight). He’s a legend as a director!
Ok so Miranda you GOTTA read Batman:Knightfall. It's the first appearance of Bane, and it goes over his backstory. His backstory in the comics is HARDCORE. Also in the comics he was never trained by Ra's Al Ghul. He trained himself, and smuggled in tons of books to read. He learned about Gotham from another inmate named Bird, and from then on he made it his goal to break the Bat and rule over Gotham. Bane is so freaking cool!
The one thing that frustrates me about the Knightfall storyline is Bane is too chicken to face Batman when he is in a good state. Instead Bane has to weaken Bruce/Batman by making him recapture all the other supervillains. With this strategy, I can't really take Bane seriously as a threat and it makes him just seem like a chicken. When we finally get to the fight, it's only a one-side fight. I feel Bane has to earn stuff, which means fight Batman/Bruce when he is well rested and prepared.
Imagine watching this when it's came out. Specially when the Batman vs bane fight came on. ... the whole theater went quiet . Up until bane did the comics . Break the bat. Men cried. Women " oh my God no"
I watched it in the cinema when it came out, and as a back to back Trilogy at the cinema a few months back. Great viewing experience. The fight was so well done, and a visual feast.
The veteran cop who gets excited that his rookie partner gets to see Batman in action is my favorite part of any Batman film ever. It's how I feel watching reaction channels watch these movies for the first time. edit: I'm excited for you to see "The Batman'.
Is a scene directtly take from the Retur of the Dark Knigth comic; the story that redefined the Silver Age Batman; a campy superhero that would go in colorfull adventures with his teenage sideckik and his bestie Superman (see Adam West's 60's show) into the tortured ninja-detective obsessed with his mission; who is anecesary evil to keep at bay the horrrors of the nigth. This movies plot is (in VERY wide strokes) based on that comic; a retired Batman who comes back for a last ride and leads the city when it's in it's darkest hour. 'Batman VS. Superman' also took lots of scenes, situations and moments from that comic; but it lacked the depth of the comic.
@@dhorn4005well tbh, OG Batman in the '40s was pretty dark, then censoring came in and a Robin was needed. The succes of the Adam West show added a lot of camp. 80s batman was already pretty darker under influence of Marvel and solidified under The Dark Knight Retuns in '86 and Death in the Family in '88. Burton's film in '89 and Timm's BTAS finally shaped how modern audiences know Batman.
It was epic in theaters. Not everybody loves this one. I'm glad you enjoyed it to its fullest. In the superhero genre, I think only a couple of the MCU movies can hold up to this nolan trilogy
Perhaps I'm alone in this, but I wished that movie had 2 more shots: 1) When the inmates were set loose, we see what looks like the Joker (a Heath Ledger lookalike since he passed) being among them, but he goes off on his own and 2) One of the ending montage shots being a rear view of Joker successfully making it across the icy river and dancing away.
Im so glad you loved this one. So many people dislike it for some problematic plot elements and few bad one-liners, but I watched it 6 or 7 times in a theatre when it came out. The second one is still the best tho
I trust Miranda Lawson from the Mass Effect games. She starts out iffy, but over time she changes. Miranda is one of my favorite squadmates in Mass Effect 2.
Rises is easily the most emotionally impactful of the three movies. I loved Bale's performance here and Michael Caine's. Bane is a fantastic follow up after Joker. No one would have been able to fill in Heath's shoes but Tom Hardy did something totally different and really nailed it. And of course Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. I know Michelle Pfeiffer usually gets all the love and for good reason (the suit, the acting, the looks) but Anne really gets the comic character justice while also being a cinematic femme fatale. And finally that it harkens back to the romantical epic both in scope (we have a full revolution in Gotham), aesthetic (Gotham is different here than in TDK - they showcased less modern architecture and more historical buildings - the court, Wayne estate, sewers) and love interest (we have a love triangle, or maybe even a square with Bruce, Catwoman and Talia but also Talia and Bane's relationship is open for interpretation as well). Ohhhh, and of course it has that phenomenal ending edit, starting from the explosion up to the credits. Chef's kiss. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. It's my favorite trilogy as well.
Something was missing in the last movie and its due to the fact that the 3rd movie was not made with the same fervor as the first 2 due to Heath's passing. Nolan even admitted he wasnt motivated to make the 3rd act and wouldnt do so until he found a suitable story. I don't know what the story was supposed to be for the 3rd act but it was to feature the Joker as Heath was signed on for 2 movies. If only life happened a little different.... “I think you and I are destined to do this forever.”
1:04:51 my favorite part of the end scene is that the writing and performance is so epic that the answer because he's Batman IS a sufficient explanation for a surviving an atomic 🤯 explosion😂!🎉❤
Yes, at least in the second one; in this one it's an Aventador. Both are cool cars, though, and the fact that he had one at all was a fun multilingual/car nerd nod to those in the know :3
That line where the cop tells his partner, "You're in for a show tonight, son" that was taken from Frank Miller's "Dark Knight Returns" a great Easter egg for the fans!
If you loved these and want a laugh you should definitely react to Pete Holmes' Badman series. It's a bunch of short 5 minute vids that parody scenes from the Dark Knight movies - hysterical!! Especially the scene with Bane and Talia and Batman as she stabs him. PRICELESS.
Batman survived because he fixed the automatic pilot of the Bat Plane… one of the last scenes, Lucius Fox talk with the scientists, and one of those said Bruce Wayne fixed it and upgrade his name in system.
You should watch and react to "gotham". its a tvshow about james gordon and young bruce wayne. It doesnt really tie into any stories from the comics but many of the iconic batman villains do appear and its SO COOL to see their origin stories and gordon fighting them instead of batman. Also its very camp which makes it even better lol
Anne Hathaway was so amazing as Selena Kyle. It was so much fun watching this in the theaters, especially midnight. I watched this film so many times in the theaters.
Interesting fact: If Heath Ledger hadn't died, the Joker would have been the judge in the courtroom sentencing people to exile instead of Crane/Scarecrow. Nolan wouldn't recast the Joker because Ledger's role had become iconic.
That's not true. At the time of Heath's death Nolan didn't even have a draft or outline of the script for part 3. Joker would most likely be the main or one of the main villains of the third film had Heath been alive and the movie would look totally different, other than the ending for Bruce which Nolan and Goyer agreed on while doing Batman Begins.
@@LelekPLN Even if Heath had survived, I wouldn't want him in the third movie. The joker is such a major character, that you can't have him as a second tier villain. And I don't want to have as the main villain since they already did that. So he can't appear in the third movie. Scarecrow is a lower tier villain in the movie, so it's okay for him.
That's not necessarily true. Nolan wasn't going to do a third movie originally and then when asked about Heath later, he just casually said he may have been the judge. It was more of just a casual answer in an interview
Not so interesting lie by whomever started it. Not true. He would’ve had a big role confirmed by Goyer and Jon Nolan recently as they said if he were alive how could they not put him in it w/o any idea. But it’s a lot diff film.

Back when this movie was coming out, there was talk of an alternative scene. In this scene, Bane and his mercs storm blackgate prison and freeing the inmates. While his mercs was freeing the prisoners, Bane came across a cell and he looked inside and saw the Joker. They stare at each other for a minute and Bane walked off, continuing to free the prisoners but left Joker locked in his cell. Hinting that he knew about the Joker and the things he did and realized that he couldn't be trusted.

Michael Caine as alfred in this movie has some impressive and emotional moments. Acting masterful class
Tom Hardy is AWESOME as Bane.
Thumbs up for the Adam West and Kevin Conroy love!
See the Machinist.
In one version of the comic books, Batman & Catwoman get married.
Rai's broke his senses
Scarecrow broke his mind
Dent broke his hope
Joker broke his spirit
Bane broke his body
Thalia broke his heart
Yet he kept coming back. Batman rocks 🤘🏼🤘🏼
* Talia
Though hell yeah!
Catwoman broke his balls
Beautiful analysis.

One of the many things Nolan did with these movies that I've rarely seen is developing a plot that keeps you constantly re-evaluating what you think is really happening.
I just love your facial expressions. The best part of watching you is your intense reaction to all of the Easter eggs. You are a joy to watch.
I met a Bane cosplayer that had the look AND THE VOICE spot on! It was mildly terrifying.
"Nobody cared who I was, until I put on this mask." - the cosplayer, probably.
“Oh boy, you’re in for a show tonight, son!”
That actor is actually cousins with a girl I went to school with lol
A direct quote from The Dark Knight Returns.
“She’s going to save him now”
Bane: *breaks his back*
"now" was just a tad delayed :D She did save him a few months later from Bane!
I never realized that the pit Bane left Bruce in was supposed to be the Lazarus Pit.
@@BrennaUrbangirl I don't think Nolan ever said that's what it was supposed to be, but the symbolism is there.
Riddle me these nuts 😂😂🤣 friggin had me rolling Miranda by that statement
I'm so glad you brought up Maggie Gyllenhaal's performance in a positive light, most reactors don't give her a chance because they're attached to the first movie, but she's a brilliant actress and did amazingly well ❤
Secretary (2002)
I disagree. She was miscast as rachel. She was one of the weak parts of the dark knight
@chrismalik1579 . No she wasn't stop lying
@blackfrieza1912 yea she was. You liked her that's your business. She was annoying and when she died I didn't care
Totally, she's a much stronger actress than Katie Holmes.

@@prestonian Damn! Didn’t even notice them!!
So theres a part near the end that Fox talks about the autopilot on the Batwing being completed by "someone." So it's implied that Bruce escapes, and the autopilot takes the bomb away.
Not "someone". They literally say the patch was done by Bruce Wayne.
What's weird, though, is that they show him in the cockpit right before the bomb goes off. I think that was an editing mistake. I think he was supposed to have bailed out when the Batwing bursts through that building.
I also wish we didn't actually see him in Florence, but that's a minor nitpick.
@@ZiadJimmy As opposed to figuratively? If yes, then what makes you think that we would have thought that otherwise?
Tom Hardy is excellent as Bane. But then again Tom Hardy's excellent in just about everything he's in.
Damn right.
He definitely showed that there's more to Bane then just being a roided-up thug. He showed that there is a brain behind all that chemically enhanced brawn. And that he's more than just the the guy who's one claim to notorious fame is breaking Batman's spine.
Mmm's in your direction.
I love the "Bane Outtakes" video where when Batman and Catwomen fly away Bane looks after them and goes "seriously?"
I love the scene of Bruce and Selena dancing at the ball. It's a masked ball and Bruce doesn't wear a mask because Bruce *IS* the mask while Batman is his true self! I love that subtle detail.
That's cool. I like that.
Bruh. Love that.
There's also a masked ball in Batman Returns (1993) in which Bruce doesn't wear a mask, so I guess we have to give Tim Burton (or his screenwriter Daniel Waters) credit for that one.
Glad you enjoyed this trilogy! All of Nolan's work is truly worth your time.
IT'S FINALLY HERE!!! Been waiting for this one!
Also... "the animated stuff"??? More excited now!!
What sets you apart among “first time watching” channels is your understanding of the LORE. Awesome!
39:30 seeing that stadium sequence in IMAX was something to see.
Glad you liked bane's voice, i love the voice he used for the character.
One of the few times batman actually gets a happy ending.
16:20 "is he gonna be Robin".
She's too sharp guys
Well it was hardly quantum theory was it
Don't forget to thank Bob Kane and Bill Finger, the creators of Batman. Those comics got eight-year-old me through some rough times.
This was also one of your funniest videos and I really enjoyed it.
Gordon - "I never said Thank You."
Batman - "And you'll never have to."
Eight-year-old me - 😊❤
Bob Kane is a complete and utter fraud that stole credit for everything Batman related, and left the real creator, Bill Finger to die, penniless and alone.
I’m sorry but Miranda in the Catwoman suit got me like 😳
Yeah, Miranda looks awsome :)
Nah Hallie berry
The Dark Knight was so successful movie (one of the best movies ever in any genre) that Nolan could practically freely choose the actors for this movie.
Did the studio constrain his choice with TDK then? I think both movies are well cast. Hathaway is an excellent Selina.
@@rp1692 I was thinking more about "if we ask actor X if they were willing to take this role" the answer would have always been yes.
I would assume that Nolan already has good enough reputation that studio sets very little limits.
The Riddler in The Batman will shock you. You'll love him!
MASTERPIECE
'Really quick though..'. This was such a good reaction to Dark Knight Rises! :)
What an AMAZING REACTION!! 🔥🔥🔥 I’m so glad you reacted to this whole AMAZING series!!!

Your overwhelming nerd joy warms my soul no end. And the puns! Never stop the puns! I love every one. The chiropractor “crack” was fantastic 😂
Very entertaining reaction especially coming from a Batman-literate fan. Looking forward to your reaction to The Batman.
Theres a reason why i bought the 4K Bluray Edition of this trilogy. A MASTER PIECE
Yes, I saw this opening night and it was one of the best movie theater experiences ever!
The OG Star Wars trilogy, Lotr trilogy and Tdk trilogy are perhaps the best movie trilogies of all time
I think we can sneak the Back to the Future trilogy in here.... atleast I think we should.
Doesn't he meet up with the League of Assassins and Ras Al Ghul later; after the Knightfall series?
Not to be that um actually guy, the first appearance of venom showed up before bane in the story Batman:venom
The 'pit' f course is a reference to the Lazarus pit as Batman was 'reborn' of sorts when he climbed out of it.
Catwomen outfit and the end to the Nolan Batman trilogy….lassss goooo!
totally agree.... TDK trilogy is LoTR trilogy level... both are my #1 trilogy of all time..
If you get a chance, and you want to know more about this Bane story, read the Knightfall Saga
Don't know about you but my favorite aspect of these films will always be that sweet and savory Hanz Zimmer music
End of a trilogy masterpiece. The ending makes me cry everytime.

Bane has the coolest walk since Darth Vader in the originals , thanks enjoyed your reaction!
You need to see the Gotham TV series which has some of the best version of the Batman villains. 🤠
Christopher Nolan has become my favorite director. His movies are like perfectly designed puzzle boxes that also hit you in the feels.
He fixed the auto pilot. That’s how he survived.
which she talked over
1:04:51 my favorite part of the end scene is that the writing and performance is so epic that the answer because he's Batman IS a sufficient explanation for a surviving an atomic 🤯 explosion😂!🎉❤
A little bit of trivia: In this trilogy, Bruce Wayne drives a Lamborghini Murcielago. Murcielago translates to "the bat" in Spanish.
Tiny fact: Christopher Judge (Kratos) is a mercenary in this film. A bit of God of War in your Batman movie

If you loved these and want a laugh you should definitely react to Pete Holmes' Badman series. It's a bunch of short 5 minute vids that parody scenes from the Dark Knight movies - hysterical!! Especially the scene with Bane and Talia and Batman as she stabs him. PRICELESS.
Tom Hardy (Bane) plays a great role in “Dunkirk”. A world war film. He’s a pilot in a mustang.
wow, never realized that that bat symbol intro being ice could be interpreted as Mr. Freeze, that woulda been hilarious if Arnie popped up : p
I got the craziest goosebumps when the lights turned off in the tunnel, i remember everyone cheering when the cop said you are in for a show tonight
The performance of Michael Caine in this one is extraordinary.
41:48 And Police Commissioner Gorbin.
No. Recasting the Joker for 1-2 minutes of screentime would be a waste of money
Love the fact she so clearly loves the series and the wider universe really enjoyed it 👍
