@@sethbrolsma516 I know that when I was in Japan, everyone made a point to stand on the right side of escalators if they didn't want to walk and let anyone to the left pass them if they did want to walk- and it was very efficient. In America people just kind of stand and walk wherever they please, and it didn't annoy me until I had experienced how polite everyone in Japan was. I felt Shoshanna here
I lived in Greece for 5 years in the 90’s, and I felt like this going there and worse coming back. When I came home, I missed the not knowing what people were saying, sunshine, closeness of others, flexible time off, lack of air conditioning (I froze here), walking around town, the wholesome food and cafes, and the blue skies and water. I miss Greece, although glad to be home with family and friends. From cloudy Ohio.
I died laughing at this -- because I sympathized so much. This was me at 19 after a year abroad. At age 50, having lived in three other countries, it gets so much easier. You find things you miss about your home culture and it all balances out. But the first return home is the hardest. Love "Girls." Clever, hilarious, real.
Yep when I came back from Japan I couldn't believe how lazy and rude people were in Australia. I was so used to doing everything on Tokyo time it took almost a year to adjust to everyones laid back attitude
lmao exactly how i felt when i came back from my spring break trip to tokyo! I was mad at everything! lol Mad because the toliet seats weren't heated, mad that the coffee tasted weird, mad that starbucks in US didn't have sakura or earl grey tea frappuccino! lol
Shoshanna's problem is not that she's in the United States, not even that she isn't in Japan. Shoshanna's problem is that she is back in New York City.
GIRLS simply rocks on all levels. Lena is a wiz. Jemima, Allison, Zosia...all Male actors. So damn good. Life isn't getting any better than this! I just wanna run to NYC, & get lost in it. Or San Francisco. I'm still scarred by 9/11. What a living horror. So unfortunate, so necessary. Human beings are too evil.
this country is bullshit! nobody has any manners! and you wanna know why you wanna know why? cause you're all self-involved and self-serving and your behaviour sir was a perfect embodiment of that truth! why am I here!? I watched this scene so many times and cried I little bit every time she screams at the end 😀😀😀
In the old days if a female was walking around dressed like that in public, yelling and screaming at the air and going "Why am I here?!?! Why am I here?!?!!?" they would be involuntarily institutionalized.
TuomariMuller you don't have to push people out of the way though, because that's rude. You wait 5 more seconds and they'll get off the walkway. Simple.
Perfect capture of what reverse culture shock is like
when you're back from living abroad. Amazing.
It's horrible going back :(
yep
your neck too!
Qialú lol subtle *you’re correction
I miss this :D
Lmao her scream at the end
the best
That was the exact reaction of me when I came back from Japan.
Seriously? Is it that much different/culture shock? (serious question)

Yup! Me too!
She dressed crazier coming home than she did any day she was in Japan.

flexible time off IN GREECE? WOAH people in the 90s were living the life!
(lots of love from someone living in Greece in the year of our Lord, 2022)
This is why Lena is a genius. These scenes perfectly capture small truths in hilarious ways. I loved Girls so much.
This scene is SO GOOD
That scream is perfection.
Notice that she sounds like Ray when she starts ranting? lol. This clip is funny and sad.
I thought the exact same thing
Yepppp
this scene was legendary
Best opening of a girls episode ever! I loved this show!
Still love this!
There are a handful of perfect episode openings in television history. This is one of them.

I lived in Turkey for a year and almost had a breakdown in a British airport coming back. I hadn't even gotten half-way to Toronto yet.
I totes feel ya Sosh -__-
This is how I feel about living in America right now. This scene is just perfect.
JUST LOVE THE SHRIT
Hekapoo when she realizes she's wasted her life in the Magical High Comission. XD
Exactly I ask my self that question everyday !!!!!!!
me coming back from studying abroad
"If one more person here bumps into me and says excuse me I'm going to fucking cut somebody!" My favorite line from Girls.
LOVE HER ♥
Haven't seen the show, just few videos, but this scene, I can watch it so many times.

heated toilet seats? whut?
I came back after a year in Japan, first thing I realized while I was standing in customs was, Jesus, I am short
I need to rewatch girls

Why did she come back? Would have been more fun to watch if she stayed in Japan and married her boss.
this is still how i feel after getting back from japan man
I like how Americans think their country is bad :D
Compared to other countries, it is
It is
Because it is
"It is" Leave then!
USA is 3rd world country with makeup on
I just came back from Kyoto into JFK and I relate 100%
OMG I love her so much !
Go Shosh !

she's not doing any harm. also are you a ferengi?
@@youtubesucks5131 Doesn't matter that she's not doing any harm. She's acting insane.
I am the family. Hate people who stand in the middle.

Anna P I think it's rude that a grown ass person stands in the middle. But you'll do that and I'll do what I do.
TuomariMuller fucking walk instead of using a moving walkway
