Yeah kinda sad that those were so short clips but I can give you some recommendations. Couple good songs from the video for example are Skandaali - "Elämä on peli" ( the one beat you liked), Avain - "Punainen tiili". Then some others could be Skandaali - "Tää o räppii" or "Valtavirtaviihde" Avain - "Roihuvuori", Cheek - "Mitä tänne jää", "Kuka muu muka" or "Kyyneleet", Fintelligens - "Stockholm-Helsinki (ft. couple Swedish rappers)".
You should definitely do more in-depth reactions to some of the songs on this video, like: Jokaiselle jotakin - Ruger Hauer, Punainen tiili - Avain, Rikosrekisteri - Julma Henri Anna soida - Elastinen (who made up the other half of Fintelligens), Doupeimmat Jumala seivaa - Ruudolf Koputa puuta - Kemmuru and PA 2001 - MC Taakibörsta. Also here are some other recommendations for Finnish rap songs that you might like in no particular order: OK - Aivovuoto, Fressi - Huge L, On se hienoo - GG Caravan Ärränpeetä - Asa, Vihellellen - Huge L, Hiljaa hyvä tulee - Gettomasa, Karvattomat koirat - Edu Kehäkettunen, Finglish - Huge L, Amerikankotka liitää - Karri Koira, V!@%# Mikko - Pyhimys Leijonaa metsästän - Asa I might have listed too many songs there... But it would be very cool to see your reaction to them from an outsiders perspective!
chapter 1: The beginning (1990s-2000s) Finnish hip hop/rap wasn't really that big before the end of the 1990s. Few big names helped the genre land in Finland. These included Fintelligens (Elastinen & Iso H), Asa/Avain, Ezkimo and Pikku G. Fintelligens released 3 albums from the end of the 1990s to the beginning of the 2000s and compiled the best into the album "Nää Vuodet 1997-2003", which included the biggest hits of the era such as Voittamaton, Stochholm-Helsinki, Sori and the biggest of them All, Kaikki Peliin. They really shaped the norm of hip hop for the next 15 years. Asa/Avain started his now iconic "Punainen Tiili" album in 1999 and finished it in 2001. That album can be considered the most influential in Finnish hip-hop. Punainen Tiili was the first album that spoke openly about the problems of our society, racism and social inequality, shaping rap as a genre to talk freely about problems and dark themes. Before that, Rap was mainly just harmless storytelling and rhyming. Ezkimo, same as Avain, Had a darker tone to his music. Today, a very large subgenre in Finnish hip-hop is known as "Lähiöräppi", and Ezkimo was one of the first to make his sound heard throughout the country. Pikku G is known for one of his songs, "Me ollaa nuoriso", which is very popular to this day, which he released alongside his debut album "Räjähdysvaara" in 2003. Hip Hop is nowadays seen as a genre of the youth in Finland, and a lot of thanks goes to Pikku G. few other great artists would come in the 2000s. Scandaali, Paleface, Cheek, Pyhimys, SMC Lähiörotat, Heikki Kuula, Notkea Rotta, etc. whome would have a great impact on Hip-Hop in the future. Chapter 2: The Mainstream Era (2010s) Tho Hip Hop was already big and ever so growing in the 2000s, the genre was not nearly as big as Iskelmä, Metal, Pop or Rock. Pretty underground compared to them. But with the rise of streaming around the world, Hip Hop reached new heights never seen before in the 2010s. The beginning of the mainstream era. Artists like Cheek were already big before the 2010s, but they reached unprecedented heights and popularity in the 2010s. Cheek is widely recognized as the GOAT of Finnish hip hop and rightfully so. He released hit after hit and record breaking album after album. From 2008 to 2010, Cheek released 3 highly successful albums over the years. Kuka sä oot (2008) JHT 1 (2009) JHT 2 (2010) and then arguably the two most famous and recognized albums in Finnish music, Sokka Irti (2012) and Kuka Muu Muka (2013). and then finishing his solo career with Alpha Omega (2015). each of these albums were very big and before Cheek's inevitable retirement in 2018, he was on top of the country. You could argue that he was like the Michael Jackson well known at his peak. today, 6 years after his retirement, he is still pushing over 400,000 monthly listeners on spotify, which in a country of only 5.5 million people is quite of a number. Other big artists also shone brightly during this era. JVG and Teflon Brothers started big and are still at the top of the charts. Especially JVG, who are the most successful and biggest band in Finnish pop/rap. hit after hit for 14 years straight. Brädi, Skepti, Ruger Hauer, Gasellit, Kube, Mikael Gabriel, Petri Nygård, Elastinen, Tippa T, SMC Lähiörotat, Stepa, Are, Gracias, Musta Barbaari, Adi L hasla, Gettomasa, all started or reached their peak in these years. Hip Hop was ever so big. Next to pop, easily the number one biggest genre of the 2010s. The years 2014-2017 Hip hop evolved once again Adi L Hasla, Evil Stöö, MKDMSK(rip) and Tippa T brought more of a trap-style sound and others would follow along. chapter 3: Modern era (2020s) 2017 came and a new upcoming artist called Cledos released his hit song "Töis" which completely changed the mainstream Hip Hop/Rap sound to this day. He started a whole wave of new artists with a similar sound to his. Gettomasa released his second album Chosen one in 2016, which put him on the map. It contained many hits and was nominated for the Finnish Grammy award "Emma". It also included the song Pelkuri, which many consider to be the deepest song in Finnish hip hop. In 2019, Gettomasa released his 3rd album "Diplomaatti", which was a massive hit. He won the Emma award and hit number one. The songs Silmät the most and Muijii Stadis are amongst the most streamed songs in Finland. Recently in 2022 Gettomasa released his 4th studio album "Vastustamaton" and ever since then he has been at the top of the Rap game like Cheek in his time. After the 2020 quarantine, Finnish city hip hop gained a new genre, Drill, which is widely listened and big. Nowadays, the biggest artists in Finland are mainly pop and rap artists. JVG is still on top after all these years, Gettomasa, Blacflaco, Korelon, Ahti, Hugo, Ibe, William and many other big and upcoming artists are on top. The sound of these newgen rappers is very different from 10 years ago. The rapid evolution of hip-hop in this country is very visible. Some old artists from the 2000s and 2010s are still relevant and big. Elastinen, for example, started in the 1990s with Fintelligens, released numerous hits and albums between 2004 and 2020, features alongside big artists and still sells out his concerts.
I can't recommend enough that *PALEFACE: HELSINKI - SHANGRI-LA* that was briefly mentioned in the video. Very different from Palefaces normal style, but it has insane sound and lyrics
@@mauronicolo89 No problem, also a bit sad that early Rasmus or even Mariska aren't mentioned in here!?, but other smaller and obscure groups/bands are mentioned several times with their hip-hop tracks Finland also has an amazing rap parody entry worth checking out Castle Street Killaz by Supermoniveto
These are the best selling/famous artists in this list but many greats are missing. Start with Redrama: Hang it up, Paleface: Aakkosmurha and Don Johnson Big Band - One MC, One Delay. These artists have started late 90,s and are still in! OGs like Avain/Asa and Fintelligens. I would Start with these... Thanks for reaction. Hola from Finland!
You´ve done some Fintelligens, maybe do more. You should also see Elastinen. Maybe try Eteen Ja Ylös or Anna Sen Soida that was played a bit in the video.
I'd love to see you check some Asa/Avain, he's an awesome lyricists, although his early stuff is very leftist definitely. Probably his most famous one is "Punainen Tiili" If you want some more fun tracks check out Ruudolf, he usually has pretty chill tracks with funny lyrics and dope samples. Recently got addicted to his song "Ihanku ei ois pamahtanu", technically not his song, but it's with his old group Vähäiset Äänet.
I can recommend finnish rap song recommend Lauri Haav - Onksul todisteit (feat. Tohtori Getto & Gettomasa). There is three big names in finnish rap music.
Cheek was a rapper for teenage girls after the early album. Like yeah he was popular but with no lyrics so no real respect from anyone. He just sold well.
if you really want know finnish hiphop....you must listen to Asa(avain), Paleface, Pyhimys, Huge L ( Pohjolan molli), Julma H, Ezkimo, Urbaani legenda, Joni veli, Aivovuoto, JV, Steen 1, juno, Kajo, Don johnson big band, Aikuisten apupyötät, Heikki Kuula, Pyhä lehmä, Davo, Edu kehä kettunen, Mariska.... there in finland we have good rapmusic. But in this video, there was a lot of so called pop/dance shit, what i does not call rapmusic..

Fintelligens is great and Elastinen who is the main rapper in Fintelligens is great. Everything else in this clip is total cancer and a shame for Finland. (Paleface is great also) Please react to proper Finnish music (heavy metal) I can give you al list.
