Why does internet keep telling me I “need” a V4 Tuono?! Best sounding motor available!
Test rode the non-factory a few weeks back - what a great bike!!

    • @lifeonmarshmoto
      @lifeonmarshmoto  Місяць тому +1

Because the internet is ALWAYS right! You do NEED a V4 Tuono! 🤣
The non factory is a great bike! I did consider it before buying mine but just preferred the colour scheme on the factory, save alot of money going for the standard version. 👍🏻

Flexi plastics in Tuono saves you from more fairing damage when you crash. Rigid ones crack and break much easier.

Great video! As for Aprilia's quick shifter, the owner's manual says not to use it under 4000 rpm (page 62).

I have a 2019 with 31,387 miles on it 10 track days a year plus mainly back roads. I've done 3 full track days at CODA with 2 long straights per lap with first gear corners at the start and finish. It's the hardest track on a motor there is, the back straight is 6th gear top speed for a bit. I've had only 1 problem at 28,000 miles the quick shift plunger needed replacement. It seems to run better then new and all I do is change oil.

Had a ‘17 Factory, the “carbon” fenders were really a carbon appliqué on plastic. Looked nice, but not really carbon.
Now have a ‘21, and the air fill valves are angled…..massively easy to air up the tires!

I have the same Time Attack bike with Akra & Akra map
    Mods:
Bar risers with the brake extension, Evotech protection all round including rad & oil guard & levers
I've set up for touring with the Aprilia touring screen, which makes a big difference. Also, Hepco & Becker rear luggage plate & SW Motech tank ring for pro range. Oxford Hot Grips Pro heated grips (Aprilia say u cant fit heated grips LOL) The last mods have been power supply for sae & heated clothing, wireless quadlock & Aprilia MIA module which is a bit of a waste of money
My only negative about the bike is tank range, i reckon 130 miles including reserve
Oh & tyres changed to Michelin Power 5 better for Scottish wet weather

You mentioned that you also own a Ducati, which brand to you feel gives you the most reliability? I own a 2002 CBR954RR, 2010 VFR1200F, and 2014 FJR1300, all Japanese. To me, reliability and lower maintenance is priority #1. I've been eyeing the Tuono V4 and have found that anything built after 2018 seems to be ok. I bought a 2012 Ducati Diavel brand new and it had issues from the very beginning with stalling when coming up to stop signs and red lights. It didn't give me the warm fuzzies when riding in traffic. The dealerships (2) in Houston, Texas couldn't figure out the cause so I sold the bike for a loss after only 1 year of ownership. Just didn't trust it. Would you say reliability/maintenance is better with Aprilia or Ducati?
    Thank you in advance!

I went from an MV to a BMW and am so glad I did that. BMW is far superior in built quality, parts, after-market parts, and tunes. It is not all about the engine's Horsepower or torque it is how the whole package works together!

I agree, BMW seem to be un-matched when it comes to build quality, I would defiantly go back to BMW when I wanted a change again.

The MV and Bmw are on totally different planets, to say one bike is better than the other is like comparing apples and oranges. I own both. MV is a stand alone motorcycle like most Italian motorcycles are. The only motorcycles you can compare with each other is Japanese bikes. All European manufacturers have a totally different engineering approach to motorcycles, the inline fours BMW,s are more closer in engineering terms to Japanese bikes than Italian bikes.

The only problem with Aprilia,s is the Japanese graphics, like there turning up for a club race weekend. Italian bikes in my opinion only, look their best in a single colour. Japanese graphic up their bikes due to quirky design to hide their lines or lack off. Same as their cars, you will never see them win design awards in last 50 years.Italians have no problem designing good looking bikes and cars, and as a result can show off there lines with a single colour.
