Really enjoyed this touching journey guys. It looks like a beautiful place.Thank you so much for sharing your adventure of this beautiful place.🐶💖💖☺🤙🤙
Thank you 😎 👍🏼
Glad this one was a success Robin👍Stunning morning to wake up to.Superbos!👍👍
Long overdue Tony. I was getting withdrawal symptoms from camping. 😂
It's a dream of mine to hear let alone see a Golden Eagle. Big thanks for sharing
It's really rare to hear an eagle, buzzards on the other hand are a lot more vocal. 🦅
Nice hike and video. Great area to hike, and absolutely stunning scenery. Thank you for sharing. Take care.
Thanks NHT. 😎 👍🏼
Robin, glorious weather☀ with a satisfying squelch underfoot😊 Absolutely superb visibility and a really cool camp spot beside that little lough👍 The pee a few hours after settling in might well be an age thing (along with the Horlicks)😊 A beautiful sunrise☀ catching the clouds and more superb walking the next day.
Cheers Gerry. Aye probably not wise drinking a hot drink right before bed time. 💦 😂
Quite fancy this route at some point with the tent, cracking video and what a sunrise to wake up to. Cheers Jon
It's a cracker Jon, definitely up your street. 👌🏼
Great video Sgùrr Ghiubhsachain is a vastly underrated mountain. We managed to slot a traverse of it into the first day of the Cape Wrath trail. We did Sgurr Thulm the following day and all the way looking back Sgùrr Ghiubhsachain towered over and dominated Loch Shiel
Cheers mate, aye its a fine mountain and overlooked for the Munros. Fair play adding these on to the CWT. 😁 👍🏼
Cracking video Robin. Good seeing you and Stevie out in the hills again. I bagged these three Corbett’s last year, superb hills. Cheers, Lee 👍🏻
Cheers Lee. I remember when you done them. Was it not a similar day, if a tad windier.
Superb Robin what a great trip that was super weather aswell keep up the good work 👏 👍
Cheers Keith. 🏕 👌🏼
Great to see some more Corbetts in the bag. Yes please on the Zoleo info (unintentional rhyming there). Once a month/mountain-a-month on the hiking btw but also do week long trips into the Highlands, work permitting. Thanks for uploading. 🏴⛰👍
Getting there slowly Nick. 44 Corbetts to go, but it's a hard 44. 😬 Once a month with added extras is decent imho.
A cracking group of Corbett's with great views 🏔️🏔️🏔️ I'm glad you finally got to Wildcamp Robin ⛺ I think Kev might be a jinx 😂 interesting looking piece of kit the Zoleo SOS 👍 Superbos 👌 atb Brian 👍
Haha, we'll need to break Kev's jinx and only go out in mint conditions. 😂 I'll get a bit more use out of the Zoleo first but will definitely do a review at some point.
Oh that tents door view at the beginning.
Nice 👍
🏕 👌🏼
Brill vid Robin, fantastic spot to pitch.. 🌞... Fair wee jaunt.. 🤘
Cheers mate, aye it was a fair old hike. That's what spring is all about. 😁
Really it looks very hard to be there , lots of hardwork 👏👏👏👌👌👍Amazing vlog
Thank you. 😎 👍🏼
Great tour an wild camp in a beautiful scenery. Lucky that you saw the pole 👍.
Cheers Stripey. Yeah, glad I noticed that, going to stop shaking out the tent now. That's twice. 😂
@@WalkWithWallace Maybe it is just your tent…I never experienced it on my version (the might have fixed it or you have a 🍋) 😎
Need more weather like this Robin. Just a little bit unfortunate that it’s still on the cold side. Look forward to the summer hikes. When it comes to camping it depends on how I’m feeling. I prefer day hikes at this time of the year but in winter I camp at least twice a month.
Yeah we differ slightly there, I love camping this time of year and do winter day trips. 😁
Thanks for another enjoyable video, keep em’ coming. Zat new boots you’re wearing. Got a pair of Keen boots largely due to your review. Very comfy but lack rigidity for rocky terrain. 😊
Cheers Brian. It is indeed new boots. It's the leather version of the Keen NXIS Pros I reviewed. They're v.comfy Must admit I like a flexible boot even on rocky terrain. 😁
Just watching your video and it’s funny you should say that, me and my mate Micky just got back last Thursday after finishing the southern upland way in 13 days. We both had to take 2 week as annual leave from work to go there and do it! So while you made this video I might have been doing the famous Scotland coast to coast! Anyway I live about 11 miles from the coast Newcastle way so at least once a month I hike there and back for a fish and chips at South Shields and get a good few miles in every weekend and camp when I can. Big fan of the Chanel keep up the good work!!
Cheers Andrew. 13 days for the SUW is a good shift by the way, you must motor on. 😁
Cracking video and what fab conditions. Cheers.
Cheers mate. 😎 👍🏼
I've been meaning to do those Corbetts for many years. You just might have provoked me into getting off my arse. A good video. Thanks.
Crackers mate, they've been on my radar for a while too, so I was glad to get them done. 😁
Cracking day Robin. Better than last night .... (Yes, I was summit camping in the wind and rain)
Where did you end up Andy?
@@WalkWithWallace Cnoc Cieslien - a 15 minute drive from home . Vid will be up tomorrow.
Where wis ma invite. 😜 Cracking trip bud, what a pitch. 😎👌 Rugged beasts them eh, that's why I like the Corbetts. Nae crowds... Blaming me AGAIN for the last camp fail I see 😉 How wis Robert? Aye dae a vid oan the new satellite thingy mjingy.
You were missed mate. 😜 Next time. 🏕 Robert was good, in fine fettle. 😁
Brilliant video Robin😍..Really enjoyed it ..Brilliant views and a great camp..Top quality Vlog mate..I wouldn’t mind seeing a full review on the device 😁.
Cheers
Robert
Cheers Roberto, and I'll definitely do a review of the Zoleo. 🛰
@@WalkWithWallace Nice one mate..That would be great 😁👍
Hi Robin,
I'd normally be out everything month at a minimum, which I've managed in recent months. However I was off the fells/mountains for seven months due to a knee injury sustained coming down Helvellyn in the lake district, probably too fast. If it doesn't clear up soon it's back to the Doc's.
Those Corbett's certainly look like hard work with the amount of descent required before you have to re-ascend. Those prominence rules for Corbett's are just so unfair lol.
Atb Andy H
Hey Andy, speedy recovery mate. Hope it's not serious. I've had niggly knee injuries in the past, can be frustrating. Imagine if Corbetts didn't have a drop criteria like the Munros, they'd be 100s more of them.
Stunning and what views. That scarp still ticks all the boxes doesn’t it?
On the whole yes, need to be careful I don't lose another rod. Very nearly there. 😬
CWT last September, WHW 2 weeks ago planning a 3 date trip to Glen Coe and Buachaille Etive Mor in May - LOVE Scotland which can be difficult ad I live in Surrey😢
Decent getting the CWT age WHW in to be fair. Got to make it worth your while as its a long trip up.
Really enjoyed this video. Good to see Stevie out too. Nothing worse than a draughty back side when your in a sleeping bag. Stunning location.
Cheers Tariq. Aye, it was just niggling at me that draft, I should have done something sooner. 🤣
Nice one, Robin - and well done for finding enough grass to camp on amongst all that rock!
Cheers Paul. Ha yes, pitches weren't as plentiful as I thought with all the rock dotted about.
Brilliant weather Robin.
☀ 🍃 Just a wee chill in the air still.
@@WalkWithWallace Definitely.
Wonderful video Robin. Absolutely stunning views, looked a great craggy scramble at times. Thank you so much for sharing your adventure as always. 😀🥾⛰🏴
Cheers Dave, it was a cracking circuit. Had my eye on that route for a while. 😁
Fantastic yet again! 👍. I ordered myself one of those magma gortex jackets. Thanks for that, now, what is that tent you use? 😂
Haha, nice one. Should serve you well Anthony. My original ME jacket lasted years. Tent is the Tarptent Scarp 1, did an overview video a while back if you're interested.
ua-cam.com/video/ew76uAvX3uA/v-deo.html
Excellent to watch.
From the pull up to the first peak and spying the Golden Eagles to those views across to the Cuillins and Knoydart. Then hearing the Ptarmigan and those Sunrise skies.
The true meaning of Superbosh Robin
Thanks David. 😊
The goldies and ptarmigan were a nice addition to the trip. I never seen the ptarmigan, just heard their call, love seeing them, grouse on steroids. 😁
Another great adventure Robin. Really interesting to see the views from these Corbetts especially views of Loch Shiel.. Looked like the Scarp 1 coped very well in the wind. ATB Derek
Cheers Derek. Think Stevie recorded the winds at 16mph. So not too bad wind wise. 😁 👍🏼
@@WalkWithWallace That was good winds were lighter than forecast. We'd thought about a wild camp on hill, but thought could be a bit breezy, so ended up doing the wee Buachaille on Friday and then camped at Red Squirrel with a few "home comforts" for a change!😂 Was a superb day to be out in the hills.
@@scottishclimber7630 can't knock a night at the Red Squirrel. Few jars at the Clachaig? 🍻
Yes, we called into the Clachaig. 🍻
@@scottishclimber7630 has to be done.
Great video Robin. Looks like a nice route. Got me itching to get back out. Cheers
Cheers Leon. Anywhere in mind for the next outing?
@@WalkWithWallace I’ve got my big 4 0 in a couple weeks. Got a handful of routes in mind…western fisherfields from poolewe maybe, or the cheesecake/lurg mhor from bendronaig. Depends on weather etc. But haven’t been in the mountains for an age now so looking forward to it. Cheers.
@@NameisLeon both are top trips, Fisherfield from Poolewe is a stand out for me though. Happy birthday for when it comes mate. 👍🏼 😁
@@WalkWithWallace ah cheers bud.
Very enjoyable viewing Robin - You at your best. Thank you for sharing 🎥😎
Thanks Jim. Appreciated mate. 😊
That sunrise - wow! What a beautiful area. I did a scramble up Sgurr Ghiubhsachan with a scrambling group a few years ago. It was brilliant, but a big day, and I remember how precipitous Sgurr Craobh a' thingummyjig was. We didn't do Druim Tarsuinn - that looks like another fantastic hill to look forward to. I usually get out to the hills every week, or at least 3 times a month, despite feeling pretty creaky at the moment!
I recently bought the Spot X satellite device. I did look at the Zoleo, but I read that it only works with a phone, and my phone is pretty basic and can only cope with about 5 apps. I did my first camping trip of the year last week and could not get a phone signal, but managed to send an "Everything's fine" message with the Spot X.
Great place to get a bit of hands on scrambling to be fair. That drop of SCa'C would be tricky in the clag.
The Zoleo does work without a phone, but just the basic I'm okay check-ins and the all important 🆘 button. The Spot devices will do exactly the same job to be fair.
I go every 2nd Sunday with my walk club on a hike.
Outside of that a few times a year overnight or two solo hiking.
Great video Robin, and all the best from your Irish fans
George
Thanks George. 😁 Every second weekend is decent I think plus the occasional overnighter. It's getting the weather.
Some great views in this video thanks very much for sharing your experience with us
You're welcome and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. 😎
Fantastic Robin and Stevie, great effort 👌
Stunning location and wildcamp spot.
ATB
Tam
Cheers Tam. Was a cracking trip. 😎 👍🏼
Def would watch a review of the Zoleo. I have the Garmin inReach mini, but interested in any comparison.
I've got the Mini too, no real complaints other than Garmin's rigid contracts. I'll review the Zoleo at some point, want to properly test it first.
Excellent stuff Robin, you covered the trip perfectly mate. Thoroughly enjoyed the couple of days , what a cracking route it was too but tough going . ..cheers Stevie
Cheers Stevie, top trip mate. Was a cracker. 😁 👍🏼
Enjoyed that Robin, well done to you and Steve, the nice weather makes such a difference too, epic vista of Loch Shiel. One for the Highlander in every Scot.. There can be only One.
"I am Connor MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod. I was born in 1518 in the village of Glenfinnan on the shores of Loch Shiel. And I am immortal." 👍 ATB mate.
Been long over due mate, love the big hikes in Spring. You know I need to watch those films again, haven't seen them since I was a nipper. 😂
@@WalkWithWallace Good stuff mate 😎
Brilliant Robin fantastic views I did Beinn Resipol last year and they looked cracking hills from the west excellent cheers
Cheers Andrew. I've got my eye on Resipol. Looks a cracker for a wild camp. Long drive with the ferry being down though.
@@WalkWithWallace yes check my you tube clip out fantastic viewpoint we went ascended west to east from Resipol camping site there’s a dedicated walkers car park at front of the reception but can can climb east to west direction from Strontian but think we went best route as you have beinn resipol in full view all the time
@@andrewkingdom had a look. Decent. 👌🏼 Hard to see if there's places to pitch with the snow.
@@WalkWithWallace I am sure you will find a pitch not far from summit but it was very rocky. Cheers
@@andrewkingdom yeah that's my thinking, just off the summit. Cheers mate
I'm aiming for once a month, maybe twice if I've nowt else on. Certainly more than the once a year previously.
Roughly the same as me then. 😎
Hello Robin, so far this year I've done 16 tramps (hikes). Last year I did 63, the year before 67, and the year before that I did 53 and so on. I have the time and means and live close to the mountains. I was a guide and bush craft instructor for many years. The bush and mountains are my life, when there is a chance to go, I'm off. I understand that this is not the 'norm', and that not everyone has the chance to get out there. No matter the weather, rain or shine, snow or wind I'll be out there. Enjoyed the video . ATB Cheers from the mountains of NZ 😀😀
Cheers MT. That's a decent amount of time to spend outdoors. Good on ya. April/May/June is my favourite time back here in Scotland for getting out.
Excellent trip and more than made up for your previous two. Very nicely documented to, very engaging. Interesting to hear how you find the Zoleo satellite communicator compared to; I believe that you had a Garmin In-Reach Mini 2. On a recent trip I used a Garmin Messenger for the first time, really quite pleased with that, also for reassurance and tracking.
Thanks Iain. 😎 👍🏼
I've got the original inReach Mini. The Zoleo and inReach Messenger are very similar devices. The latter being slightly different having a small screen. The missus likes them more than me, knowing that I'm okay. 😁
Great trip boys 🤩 These days I’m out on day walks most weekends depending on the weather. Overnighters are maybe once a month or when I have some time off work depending on how much brownie points I’ve earned with the missus 😘
Cheers Stevie. Aye the brownie points are important for a happy life mate. 😂
Forget to say a review of that Garmin in reach type device would be welcome
I'll get a bit more use out of it first, but it's looking good so far.
Would love to be out more. Do one big 2-3 week walk/wild camp a year and a 1 week walk. Get out wild camping as often as a can but last year was a disaster with very little weekends out due to work. Hoping to change it for the better this year. I think your hankering for another CWT adventure! North to South 😉
It's annoying when adult life gets in the way of hiking and camping. lol, not sure about another CWT, but I wouldn't rule it out. 😂
''A clear view of the sky'' is a problem in Scotland😂
Haha, you know what I mean. 😜
