- Restricted Free agent F Simone Fontecchio has agreed on a two-year, $16 million contract to return to the Detroit Pistons, sources tell ESPN and Woj. In this video we discuss why I think this is an absolute steal.
This channel is ran by a former NBA 2K streamer who has been a life long Detroit
Pistons fan who will be making videos about the team heading into the 2024-2025 NBA season under Trajan Langdon and a new coach.

Langdon knows what he's doing I'm impressed so far.
Ditto! And I am happily surprised by it.
his thj trade wasn't so hot, he barely got assets, infact it was a minus trade. That should have been done 3 days later when Dallas was desperate for cap space to sign Klay
@@smokescreenOG hindsight is 20/20, you can't see the future that way, I think it was a great trade, THJ is someone this team needs right now, and we got good picks in return, Grimes wasn't much for us
@@TheLuckster HUH....hindsight lmao. There is no hindsight, GMs know exactly what is happening 3 days before free agency and why the other team is clearing space. That was a bad trade, they got a worse asset back, and lost 10 mil in cap space. 3 second rounders are very shitty compensation. You are living in fantasy world.
Welcome back Simone Fonteccio‼️
Langdon putting in major work. Great deal.
One thing I believe is that Langdon has shown better than our old GM already. Honestly im excited to see where this is going.
@J.Ragland-hz1er Thats a common human fault, I would agree with you. But you know me that well from two sentences?
This is absolutely huge, we sign Tobias Harris (a vet who can help the young core) then we trade for THJ, who is another vet with shooting that could help the core, then we get Malik Beasley who is on the younger side and is a VERY reliable shooter, now we got Fontecchio back on a good deal, the future is bright
Annnd....THREE, 2nd rd picks that could become a 1st rounder or sweeten another deal! Lets Go Pistons!
@@TWebs11-11 Very true🙌
Just happy to see the pistons finally buying into their franchise player.
WOW dude! You are the first person I've seen report this! You're gettin better and better!
Am I trippin or was that a 1 day 100 subs boost??😂 you killin it bro💯
Shit fam I was on like 550 when I woke up this morning. Just been absolutely blessed.
@@JacobPistonswell deserved 🔥
1st Beasley then Fontocio Tradon is finding good prices gems
Trajen Langdon: "Chill folks, I have a plan. . . "
You’re quick with the content man ! Great job
Right now you and pistons talk are my favorite piston channels/ new sources
@@J.Ragland-hz1er what’s the context
Thank you so much, Pistons talk is a great channel, been watching for a longggg time lol
Great signing at a fantastic price. Well done!
Jacob on that grind
That’s wildly cheap, he’s our best two way wing!
Signing Fontecchio signals the end of the off season.
In theory we could've used up our cap space taking on bad contracts or signing free agents then once we hit the salary cap we could then exceeded the cap by signing Fontecchio because we own his Bird Rights.
I believe we still have some cap space but again if you had plans on making additional moves you would've held off on Fontecchio.
Having said that we took our cap space from this year 60+ and pushed half to next year + what the cap rises so we can still make a move next year.
All in all I love what we did. Trajan feels like he knows what he's doing, I'm impressed....no panic.
We have about 20 mill left. I doubt the season is done.
And Simone doesnt have to sign until after a trade. Agreeing and physically signing is 2 different things
Great move by Langdon resigning Fontecchio!
Good player.
I'm hoping we go after Tyus Jones or trade Stewart to Utah for Collins and a pick.
Then use what's left on a back up Center and STILL bring Metu back because he was serviceable.
I don't hate this whatsoever
@@TheLuckster thanks.
I forgot he’s on the team .. another elite 3 point shooter 🔥🔥
750 to 940 in hrs!! Congrats!!!
Hell yeah! The FONZtecchio is back!
finally a good GM
This has been our best offseason in a really long time. Imagine if we make the play in this year.
Relax...
Hardaway and Beasley don't play defense and we still have no backup center and our two best defenders don't need to be guarded outside of 20 feet
It's a much better roster even before factoring in the young guys but even IF Cade is an All-NBA level player this year -- which I don't expect -- we're going to struggle putting two-way lineups on the floor
@@michaelahurt You can be a play in team while having bad defense (Atlanta Hawks). Our biggest issue was scoring. Both guys address that.
@@iMixMaSteR1 But Atlanta has a better offense because of Trae.
That's why I mentioned Cade. If he takes a huge leap and is actually as good (or close) to Trae, then ok but your offense is generally only as good as your best player.
What matters is outscoring the other team. If you have a 115 offense and 119 defense or 111 and 115 it's the same thing.
But it's Detroit, Atlanta, Charlotte, Toronto for those 9/10 spots so I suppose we are in that mix by default
@@michaelahurt Especially considering that Atlanta lost Murray.
@@iMixMaSteR1 That's irrelevant. Murray didn't make Atlanta better. In fact their offense, defense and record got worse each year. Addition by subtraction. They will be better than last year assuming they want to be
Still about 20 mil in practical cap space. Simone Fontecchio goes under a restricted/ early bird exception basically being able to sign for about that much without really hitting the cap space.
#821 congrats on the growth I love the content
GREAT NEWS
Per John Hollinger·
Senior Writer, NBA
It appears the Pistons might be signing Simone Fontecchio into their room exception, which is $7.98 million. Doing so would let them remove the $5.2 million cap hold on their books for him and replace it with a $1.1 million cap hold, effectively giving the Pistons $4 million in additional cap room with which to work. The Pistons would renounce his qualifying offer as part of this; depending on the exact specifics of Tobias Harris' deal, they should have about $30 million in cap room now.
In a short amount of time Langdon is proving he is invested in making Detroit a contender AGAIN! Did more in a month than Weaver did in his yrs!
Cade and Font are the only 2 that definitely starting.... good deal .
Langdon really doing a great job
Now pistons just need some really 3&D guy and would be perfect
Font3!!!!!!!!
Remember that troy weaver paid 12,5M on Marvin bagley
Trajan paid 14M Fonttechio and Beasley…
He shot 42% from 3 ..im real happy they did this move
I think his injury may have played a part in the deal he got
I’m impressed with what Trajan has done as well so far, but here’s the million dollar question though, is Trajan finish making roster moves now? Is he gonna start the season with this roster? Because I think a trade needs to be made now. Just saying! 🤷🏽♂️
I think a trade is coming tbh, still lots of cap space and not too many names left on the free agent market that would absorb all that money even if we did pick them up tbh
Hell yea
Beasley the only move i give new front office credit for everything else was exactly what was reported and figured weaver would do
WTH ru talking about lol?!?! Weaver was fired so he off on so many levels! This is exactly what he wouldn't have done because he was awful! This is all Langdon. He's our new president in case u didn't hear lol
Hey Jacob! It seems to me you think Tobias Harris is going to start instead and I do too but some other Pistons fans disagree and think Isiah Stewart should. What do you think the pros and cons of starting each are? Or if you can't find time to answer this I'd love to see you cover the possible starting lineups and what you think it should be.
Hey man, I’m definitely all in on starting Tobias at the 4. Not only do I think he’s just a flat out better player at this point in time, I think his offensive creation is super important to be on the floor with Cade amongst other value he brings. But way more importantly, as of right now our only two players on the roster that are capable of playing center are Duren and Stewart, so starting them together would cause issues with rotations. There really isn’t any centers left in free agency worth minutes either. So unless a trade happens I think right now it makes the most sense to use Stew as a backup 5, which I think he’s more suited for anyways personally.
There is no way Duren is coming off the bench and no way u can start him and Stew. So there's the 100% answer! Duren 14pt 12reb is a monster!
@@JacobPistons I think the same way. I was wondering why they think that Stew should start over Harris... Didn't quite make sense in my brain. I'm wondering if they might target another center on a two way contract or maybe sign another with some of the rest of the cap space. Thanks for the insight. Love your videos!
The pistons is awesome teamtoiswin😊
How disgusting is it we signed two quality proven vets and neither makes more then bum ass Bronny James that gets a guaranteed 7.9m for being terrible. This is everything that's wrong with the NBA! Did anyone see the summer league game lol. Embarrassed! But his daddy insists he can start for the Lakers today lol. If I was on that team I'd be offended!
Tek 19!
Get back to "Winning basketball?"....don't hold your breath. It's going to be a long climb out of the toilet. Gores and Arn Tellem have done a lot of damage and it won't get fixed overnight.
Think we can push for play in now
If Cade is an All-NBA player sure but how many good two-way lineups can we actually put together?
We'll probably win 30-ish games but we need one of the young guys to breakout in a massive way to start approaching 40 wins and the play-in
@@michaelahurt I say 35-40 wins especially if we take on Lopez for draft capital
@@Jamar-lg9ob Milwaukee isn't going to salary dump Lopez. Lol. They have to replace him if they trade him, preferably with two rotation players. They are trying to win a championship. They can't afford to give away their fourth best player.
But I imagine they would jump at Stewart + Fontecchio for Lopez. Sucks we traded Grimes already.
Good deal for this player. Do you think he'll start?
I dunno at this point to be honest. I would think so but I could also picture a Cade/Bessley/Ausar/Tobias/Duren type of lineup. I guess we’ll find out soon enough!
Great player! Good move, props to Weaver on that! Better move to keep him, and the $ is soooo right! Btw... Is it Re-signs? Or Resigns?
Good catch, definitely had the title wrong initially. Crazy how those two words mean almost polar opposite things as well, English is weird hahah
You can sign him last and go over the cap if you need to
We could still have 26 million left depending on the order they do things.
Simone is the best pistons shooter better than Malik Beasley
How much money do we have in cap space left?
Roughly $18 million I believe.
@@JacobPistons thanks and we have enough cap space to make another move which is awesome
hes better than saddiq bey
Pistons should trade Isaiah Stewart and Ivey for some solid backup bigs now at least one !!!
Trade Ivey your crazy... that kid loves Detroit and Monte robbed him of a year development he's going to be a star ✨ watch.....
Lets get Saddiq back
