This video is awesome. Thank you for making it. I hope more new players find this.🤟💯
blurbs uploads, I click. It’s a simple pirate’s life for me.
Yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me we pillage we plunder we don’t give a hoot drink up me Hartys yo ho
Great video !!
wow I wish I was as articulate as you lad, well played.
To any people reading this who are afraid to try higher seas. That’s normal. People like to pretend it’s whatever getting sunk or that it’s not a little nerve wracking going against high skill players. Losing treasure and progress sucks. It’s awful, but if you can’t handle that. This might just not be your game, and that’s ok. Sea of thieves is not a mmo grind fest. It is essentially a massive arena you’re put in to make your own adventures.
I've been playing for a couple of days on Safer Seas now, and thought I'd have a look at High Seas today... Maybe I've just been really lucky, or maybe it's because I was only doing simple treasure quests, but nobody has PvP'd me yet, and I've seen a few ships around (mostly sloops) on my last session. I tried both High Seas and Safer Seas, and found High Seas to be more chill, even with the threat of other players, because you can see them from a distance and avoid them. High Seas seems to spawn more skeleton ships, which pop up out of the water, and once they're locked on to you you can't get away, which just makes that mode kind of annoying.
I tried high seas today and I didn’t even leave an outpost before a rank one reaper sank and killed me i was just surprised honestly
That’s awful luck but it happens lol
damn yeah that's just very unlucky. That's only happened to me once before, they're just assholes. Most players will recognize a ship that has just spawned in and leave them alone
I can’t wait to play this on ps5 it will be my first time playing..I’m going to be so bad it will actually be funny!! I got the premium edition so will be playing closed beta on the 12th to the 15th and I’m going straight to high seas..Looking to fight anyone so I can learn how to fight and pvp..I don’t care for the loot or dieing..Can’t wait..My deaths will be my lessons to learn from..I’ll be solo so I got to have that get good attitude Letsss gooooo 😊😊
You're such an amazing asset to the community of this game.
Thanks for all the effort you put into your videos and streams, Blurbs!
Does the sovereign tent give full price as if you took it to the specific spots?
Yes it does
I can not see Legend of the Vail as an World Event.. I don't think I heard anyone call it an world event.
its the same with Skull of Sirens song, its also not an real world Event, seeing as it can be active at the same time as an Normal World Event like Fof.
Both The Vail and Sirens song are Voyages not world events,
I get your point, but i feel the Veil is kinda like the FotD, as a manually-spawned World Event, only difference is that Veils are part of a voyage.
@@ramonrcm9236 I was thinking on saying that myself so I get what you mean.
I just don't think it should be called an World event, as I said.. I never heard anyone call it that.
Cause if an Voyage can be called an World Event.. then what exactly is an ''World event'' then? you know..
LotV isn't a world event :) But you know that. I recently learned that you are an ex-dev (and nonsense on top). Would love to hear your thoughts about my profile viewer. It can do things like searching your chest, telling you where to find items ingame (page/row/column), net worth, and much more. I get feedback but only from non-techy people so would love to get yours :) Don't want to advertise it here but it's googlable (edit: it's not touching the game btw, it works off of sot website data combining it with wiki data and my own mappings)
Okay 1. Those tornados are green not blue lol.
2. Phantom world event spawns Athena loot? Since when?!
They don't, I think Blurbs made a script mistake
I love telling swabbies that the hourglass gives extra gold haha
3:06 Why blue when it's green?
Tip 10: Have fun.
Nuh uh
There is one chest more valuable than the Chest of Fortune and that is the Box of Wonderous Secrets, but there is no for sure way to get it.
Not true
@@Ro-Ghost 30 k without emissary for the BoWS and 25 k without emissary for the CoF
Hmmm thanks now I'm go8ng for my second gold curse😂😂
Dude I've played this game for 3 years, why am I even watching this?
Hahah me too. Blurbs content is so good.
You might get sunk in high seas but you barely get any gold in safer seas. I think in the long run it’s way better in high seas
Us veterans were born by fire! No safer seas for us back then!
I feel like newer players will now be even worse for being entitled than the current PvE players but I guess time will tell
Hey blurbs, you're a pretty high profile player within sea of thieves.. Have you ever had any luck reaching out to developers directly and offered advice or feedback? I feel like alot of times you're disappointed with the way they handle alot of decisions. Hate to see the game slow down in terms of player count.
I have a decent of hours in the game, but I personally feel it becomes sort of repetitive and almost a chore (although that depends on how lively a server is) I never understood why they removed the arena mode, maybe I'm naive in what it means to support the mode.. Just seems like an odd decision to remove features.
I hate sot for that so much. But its understandable. Plus its fun for like a family to play together i guess ? So....there is that. But if you only play safe seas and you think you are ready for normal gameplay you are not its COMPLETELY deferent. Just the fear of someone coming is enough to scare some of my noob friends
Well yeah. I think to counter this. Ex should be earned upon collection treasure for the first time. Picking it up or completing voyages. That way even if I were to die and lose everything multiple time isn’t wasted and I’ve got a respectable amount of xp
😩
Are you not making game news videos anymore? I subbed to hear your opinion on seasonal updates and changes but lately it’s just streams that i’m not gonna scrub through to find out if you maybe talking about the update somewhere in a 60+ minute video. Double streaming ruined coming to your channel for news imo
See of thrives sounds wayyyy to sweaty for any new player. I hate how sweaty the combat looks and feels. I don’t think I can be bothered to even learn that. Not interested. That’s the only thing turning me off about the game. And safer seas is completely unrewarding to make me feel like I’m wasting my time. I only have so much time now that I’m older and I can’t be bothered to fight sweaty no lifers.
It’s not sweaty
The opposite actually. Most ships just run away the moment they see my sloop approaching
Combat is really simple in sot
Look at the finals, overwatch, Fortnite and even star citizen. Those games have complicated combat
@@Telesto_Timelost ok that’s a bit more reassuring
Lol don't let dude lie to you like that.. Dude just trying to get an easy sink since ss took all the players somewhere nicer. Hopefully rare will pull their head out their asses and make it actually rewarding to play ss or game gonna just keep bleeding players..
@@MikaMayhem-no4cr yeah. I’m not spending a dime on the game and maybe I would if single player SS was rewarding. Why tf would it matter to them anyways? The game is just too sweaty. We almost need custom servers that are noob only with moderators.
@@UnsettlingDwarf ya this game has so much potential to be a fun chill experience but apparently rare doesn't want that. If I wanna sweat my tits off I'll play cod. I got no problem with good PvP that has decent gunplay and the possibility of success since you aren't required to have friends work opsec while you drive your boat. Sot too clunky and oftentimes so one-sided it just ain't worth it. Also, I've spent my life in the cod community and these sot kids make us look like angels in comparison. Something about this game brings out the worst in these little bastards.. It's like an old mw2 lobby but the people who are calling you slurs and screeching are also the people who decide what your game play experience is, not you..
Imagine all of these events being new again. I envy the SS graduates.
Safer Seas players, get into high seas as soon as possible no amount of PvE will prepare you for PvP, get used to the fact that no matter how good think you are you still have the potential to lose loot.
Sinking is not the end of the world in fact if you do sink think of what you could have prevented that
If you want to get better at PvP dont run away from a fight as experience is better than gold
Being someone who knows different systems have different load times I believe we should not be forced into high seas due to latency and people’s systems not being new gen and take twice as long to respawn on the ship than I do, it’s just not fair to those who can’t afford the new systems.
That’s another issue honestly
How sot probably works is that it despawns everything that is too far away
I don’t get why rare just doesn’t change it to where your ship and everything around it will always be loaded in your console/pc
Another thing that’s stupid is how sot despawns everything around you and then loads it back in when you take a mermaid. So basically if your ship is still loaded and you take a mermaid it will have to reload again
Yesterday I chased a guy holding the key for the SoSS, reach to him and sunk them, the guy was mad and said he didn't want to fight and I was like... dude you are participating on a PvP event, if you want to run so much just play Safer Seas, he responded with: What, do you think im a pu$$y? and I was like... yeah, you ran over a key you didn't even know how it worked lol... Seriously I don't understand this kind of swabbies, you don't want pvp but you don't want to play Safer Seas?
not even a safer seas user... just needed something to watch while doing other stuff
i think this is a good idea but they may need to make harder ai
most important tip: you dont own what you cant defend
I joined a random crew that just set sail, a brig hauling the Siren skull was trying to return to briggsy, we made it to the island setting up cannons when they sank our Gallion I was able to swim and hide on their later made it up to the crows nests till they all had to leave their ship and thats when I sailed their ship to our returning gallion for my crew to sink it after dropping their anker. they we're all screaming at us being toxic when they sank our ship and they cried about it was just them and why did we have to ruin it for them. they were staking for 600k of loot. and were the bad guys for it, for playing the game? when they could have ran safer seas..
You should be able to flag pvp off at ports. It's that simple.
Yeah the hole pirate mentality of the game really ruins it imo. Had a guy jump in a match with me the other day, helped me to stock up my ship with loot. Then while I was up on the island he set fire to the boat and dipped. Like what's even the point?
@@MrSirGiuseppe to sink your ship and steal your treasure. Like a pirate.
Terrible idea, you want a PvP free zone go to safer seas
@Ro-Ghost it's actually a pretty normal pvp concept for many games. Where you can flag pvp on at any point, but only flag off at "safe locations." BTW Pirate code says ports should be safe locations.
@Ro-Ghost pathetic, you need to grief new players to get your rocks off.
I personally think they should remove the restrictions on Safer Seas and make it so all the High Seas content is available on Safer Seas. Also get rid of the gold restrictions, it needs to be 100%. Rare is punishing those who don't like PVP. Forcing PVE players to play with toxic sweats to experience the full game is not fair.
I want to chill after my 14 hour day at work, not be griefed by thieves and pirates.
Sounds like AC4 is the game for you then, why ought you get the HS rewards for playing the no-risk mode of SoT?
It took me a whole minute to realize who was saying this.
But isn’t that what sot was designed for? To steal loot from others. If you lose loot you learn and adapt to become better so then you can steal others loot. Safer seas makes sense for new players, but I personally don’t see a point making it the exact same game in two different modes. Just my opinion.
I kindly disagree.
In the first place they were never even gonna add safer seas, because the game is meant to be played online with others.
If that's not up your ally that's totally cool, but maybe consider another game that isn't online multiplayer pvp?
Sea of Thieves is just a game where pvp exists, and if people decide to play this game, then they should accept the fact that pvp will happen.
The devs already went against their principals by adding safer seas. But they made it at reduced content and rewards, to give people a reason to eventually move to high seas.
If they implement what you're asking, most new players won't even bother with high seas, and that would be the death of Sea of Thieves.
And btw. how can you as a Sea of Thieves partner refer to acts of piracy in a pirate game as 'griefing'?
That baffles me to be honest..
I'm sure that some acts can be considered griefing (like spawn killing someone over and over for no reason), but Rare already added a solution to this a long time ago -> scuttle and move on.
Given who this is said by, I’m gonna take those as a joke.
Still fun to watch even though I don't care for anything made by Rare as of October 19th 2023
Man, you could’ve responded to my 225 word essay
@@Telesto_Timelost wha? what SA?
@@sSteppingStonesthe finals vid
i watch a lot of Finals vids@@Telesto_Timelost
We should not even have
safer seas
fuck that contract blurbs
i swear it
I think reaper emissary is just for more gold. Not pvp 😂
An Important tip i always give new players is : NEVER trust Any Player.
I usually do this by being nice in the first place and then sinking them
Sea of thieves adding safer seas was like minecraft bedrock anarchy realms adding dupe machines… people just got the stuff they wanted and quit. That’s the issue, sea of thieves just removed the most exciting part about the game since naval combat.
can't compete with cheaters, sadly, 😮💨they have ruined this beautiful game.
i am only doing pvp in this game (1200 allegiance) and havent seen a cheater for a long time. since monkey island part 3 release they implemented something quietly.
there are a lot of cracked people out there, u are probably not able to see the difference between a cracked and a cheater person imo.
1:05 Aww man, why do you have to tell them this? I kinda like getting the free win from invading a clueless player parked at an island, lol.
We need what rdr2 has auto aim and ability cards that makes us strong and The ability to level up those cards I think it will make sot a fair game and anyone who disagree with me, just so you know think about it, you get annihilated by a sweat, but if you have a levels that make you stronger you can survive and become a complete sweat lord if rare adds weak points has in if you shoot for the leg it will deal 10% damage but if you aim for the head your dead I mean rare should add more Physics like seeing Drippin pool of water when it rains or the bullet of your shot will go Through a player which means any poor soul Standing behind, that guy will probably get killed as well or take a little damage
So give veteran player players bonus dmg on top of them already being more skilled?
And auto aim?!?!? Are you really that bad?
And if guns one shotted in the head then why should i ever use anything else than the flintlock?
The way you become a sweat is by becoming better. Not grinding pve
And if what you’re looking for is a realistic pirate game then you’re playing the wrong game?
But aren’t you also an athena main? Ghosts aren’t real
Bro are you tired of getting shooted by absolute giga chad if we had ability cards that make a stronger more harder to kill, then the game will be very much different
@@Telesto_Timelostit isn't about 'good' its about the combat experience being shit. Go play an actual pvp game and tell me the combat is even worth playing in this. Chivalry 2, For Honor, anything fromsoftware, Mordhau, hell even fuckin world of warcraft all have very good pvp. Theres hundreds of games that I would play before SoT if I wanted a good pvp experience. Some of those even have pve experiences/lore mixed in that are as good as SoT.
I play this for the lore and to explore the map and things that are hidden around the world, plus the sea/sailing physics are tight. Doesn't mean I don't want the pvp element, but there should be more mechanics is all. All the games I listed, I could 1 v 'x' people because the game gives you more options than just running around and kiting people, hoping they slip up so you can hit them with one of 3 'devastating moves'.💀
There's not many worthwhile ways to 1v4 people in this game unless the crew is just complete ass.
