Really CFL help to produce oxygen bubble

Yes, you have to look at the Lumen count and do some math to see how many lines you need for your water column. But the tech on aquarium lamps has improved, so most led lamps for aquariums will do. Of course already built lamps are going to be more expensive, but considering the cost of high intensity CFL bulbs and the fact that they are more susceptible to braking and the heat they produce I have upgraded since to an LED grow light.

@@Chupamaster not necessarily. Does you aquarium reach very low temperatures? I think that 60 degrees Fahrenheit is no problem for most plants, it would mostly depends on your fish.

Great!! Would like more info on how you made the box for the lights and attached it to the tank. Is that aluminum foil that you used inside the box?

yes I lined the inside of the box with foil. I've since switched to a LED lamp, but this one work well for a good while. I made the wiring myself and the box was made with foam board, you could even use double ply cardboard glued with hot glue. the legs in this old lamp were bamboo skewers (lol) I don't recommend those, maybe some hard metal rods, maybe wire coat hangars. I used what I had on hand at the time. I knew the risks I took and they may not be for everyone. But be creative you could be surprised at the results.

I know, I was ignorant at the time about how many schooling fish should I have at a time. Plus he was with another two at the pet store and I knew they were going to die there so I brought them home.

+Hilde sorry for the delay in my comment. The lamp doesn't have a brand... sorry, its a generic lamp that my brother in law got from a friend that works with them. It was a 100$ generic lamp, but its more directed towards reef aquariums, it focuses too much on the blue spectrum of light; planted tanks use lamps that are more orientated towards the red part of the spectrum. Im no scientist, but thats what they keep telling me lol. Ill have to check and make a video talking about the lamp. I hope this was helpful, and thanks for watching my video! I hope to have more in the near future.
