    This video is Part 1 of 7 total videos that shows our AWESOME ATV Trip across Newfoundland Canada. We started in Nova Scotia and took a 16-hour over-night ferry to Argentia, NL.
    This video shows Day 1 - riding from Argentia to Clarenville. Half of the group stayed at a hotel and the other half tented by the water, just outside Clarenville for the night. The scenery is fantastic and so were the trails. THIS is the ATV TRIP of a LIFETIME!
    My website above tells you everything you need to know to do this trip on your own. Thousands of people have done it using my information, and so can you. There's no need to hire a guide!

      @@EastCoastATV I'll certainly watch the 19 and 20 videos also, once I get done with the 17. I'm pacing myself on the 17.
      As for coming up to do the ride, I may do that. I'd probably want to find a few others to do it also just for the social aspect. Typically if I go solo, it in the woods for camping, etc.

    Love the video. Good to see the difference from year to year. I just bought the new Wolverine R Spec and am anxious to take it across next year. I went across on the quad a few years ago. So should be quite the difference.

      You'll really like taking it across Newfoundland. Lots of room for gear and very comfortable.

      I narrowed it down between the Commander ans the Wolverine. Loved the look of the Commander and the VTwin but the Fox podium shocks and the price of the Wolverine won me over lol. Hopefully sometime may see you on the trail. I ride out of Marine Riders in Dartmouth but go to a lot of the rallies.

      I totally wish my machine came with the Fox shocks. Maybe my next machine will have a set. It would be nice to meet up in person. I like to go to the rallies too but I haven't been to any since the summer unfortunately.

    • @EastCoastATV
      @EastCoastATV  6 років тому +1

      You are required by law to wear a helmet in Newfoundland if you're on an ATV. No helmet required on a side by side, but I wear one anyway. Thanks for posting. I'm glad you liked the video.

    The ATV's definitely look more capable when it comes to technical trail situations, but I guess there are trade offs, they can not transport as much equipment and the comfort or passenger aspect must be considered.

    • @EastCoastATV
      @EastCoastATV  3 роки тому

      Actually you'd be surprised at how capable the side by sides are in technical trails, especially steep grades. They are wider and incredibly stable. Thanks for watching. You may be interested in watching our 2020 videos for that trip.

      Check out my 2020 videos. A guy brought a Ranger 900 XP. There are some good shots of it at Howley and Serpentine Lake. It carries lots of gear, which is good. It can be rough riding over bumpy terrain.

    I'm glad I found this series. I'll be watching them all! Quick question... How did the CF Motos hold up? I just took a chance and bought one and now I'm looking for some positive reinforcement about my decision haha. I also have 2 Polaris Sportsmans and I'm looking at perhaps getting a CanAm Commander (love them).

    • @EastCoastATV
      @EastCoastATV  6 років тому +1

      AdvOutdoors
      I'm glad you like the video, thanks for posting. The CFMOTOs held up great! They both had an issue with a spring on the muffler going so they started rattling a bit. Apparently it's a common problem with those CF Moto's but it's an easy fix with a new spring. I think you can buy them online and Moose sells tougher ones. One little issue with those CF Moto 500 is that they don't have a whole lot of ground clearance but that's common with the 500cc class side by sides it's the same thing with the Polaris RZR. I've owned several sub Polaris Sportsmans and now I have a Commander 1000 and I really like it a lot.

  • @northernranger7774
    @northernranger7774 4 роки тому

    Hi, would a pioneer 500 be suitable for the type of trips you do? Or not big or comfortable enough?

    • @EastCoastATV
      @EastCoastATV  4 роки тому

      It would be completely capable. If you're going with a group of other people with bigger machines you may not be able to ride as quickly as your friends and you may find some places a bit rough because there isn't a lot of suspension travel on the 500 model. But other than that it's definitely capable.

    • @EastCoastATV
      @EastCoastATV  5 років тому

      Some towns in NL allow ATV's on the roads, like Corner Brook a d Stephenville. Other towns there it is not legal but they kind of ignore you if you go slow and stay to the side.

    I was wondering this last year, but yea looking at your map it seems you guys completely pass by the Bay Robert's/Harbor Grace area and head straight inland. So this is why I've never seen the wreck of the SS Kyle featured in your videos.
    Well I see you have some CF Moto machines. How are those things holding up?
    From experience the Japanese machines (Yamaha/Honda/etc) are always reliable. The American machines (Polaris) are alright if you treat them gently, but they fall apart if you start doing work with them. But CF Moto is a Chinese company right? So how are those machines?

    • @EastCoastATV
      @EastCoastATV  7 років тому

      Justin Lynch
      I found Polaris machines were hit and miss. I had a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 500 that was very reliable I drove it really hard too. I never had anything break other than a speedometer cable which was fairly simple to replace. I also had a few electrical problems with it but nothing major. I had a 2015 850 as well, it was a blast to drive but I had too many issues with it so I sold it. I've had good luck with my Can-Am Commander. Japanese machines are usually dependable. I have two friends with Honda Rincons and they both have had some issues with them. Even the Japanese machines can have issues. The CF Motos seemed to do alright but they are in need of more ground clearance for sure.

    • @justinlynch3
      @justinlynch3 7 років тому

      Yea I know 2 guys who's had Polaris ATV's and after a few years they are having big problems. Now to cut Polaris some slack, both these ATV's was worked not just trail riden. They was used for hauling wood out of the woods. So that could played a part in it. Luckily I don't plan to work my bikes like that, but still my experience with Polaris isn't good.
      Still good to hear the CF held up over the run. The ATV's look better in clearance then the side by side so maybe it won't be such a problem.
