    Got this from ULANZI because of the super heavy *weight* and exorbitant *prices* of Sony & Sigma lens. To be honest, I was skeptical it was going to work at all because of the insanely cheap price - but guess what? It works like a charm. It's very well built and the *macro* is a bonus; with no degradation.

    Great video mate, I've been looking for something like this. I'm also a ZV-E10 owner as well.
    I think shooting in 4k24 or 4k30 with this wide adaptor + catalyst browse @ around a 10-15% crop (obviously depending on footage) with SteadyShot OFF is the best option.
    I like shooting in 4k24/4k30 as it allows for more screen real estate to crop into in post, Catalyst Browse also seems to significantly reduce the rolling shutter when shooting at 4k on the ZV-E10. Unfortunately, the latter framerate has a small crop in, so I think the Ulanzi adaptor will give that extra field of view which is much needed.
    What resolution and framerate were you shooting the footage from the camera in? Also, what do you think is the best combo of stabilisation for the camera?

    • @JamesDBuzzard
      @JamesDBuzzard  2 роки тому

      Yo thanks for your comment I hope you are liking the ZV-E10 so far! I think you're right! In my opinion the best stabilization is catalyst browse at around 10-15% or as much as you need to stabilize the footage. It is much much better than something like warp stabilizer or most inbuilt stabilization softwares that I have used with my Sony cameras. I shot all of this test footage in 4k 24fps 👌🏽. • @JamesDBuzzard
      @JamesDBuzzard  2 роки тому +1

      Rolling Shutter is most definitely a problem with this camera sensor and the rest of the a6x00 line however, it is only an issue when moving around and panning. Really it is going to depend on your use case and what you consider acceptable image quality. Some people won't notice rolling shutter whatsoever, Some people will not care for their use cases and some people can not stand rolling shutter period and I can understand all positions on the subject. My advice is to checkout some video examples of this camera to see if it is acceptable for your use case. I do have a video on catalyst browse that has way more video example of me walking with this camera and different lenses if you want to check it out.
      I'm curious what your opinion is on the rolling shutter? Personally I think it is acceptable for non-paid work but I personally will be using my FX3 and A7c for all of my paid work. I do plan to use my ZV-E10 for Professional live streaming for clients and possibly some Vertical Content.

    • @JamesDBuzzard
      @JamesDBuzzard  2 роки тому

      Heyyy that’s what i like to hear 👊🏽! I actually do not have the Sony 16mm personally to try out if I can get my hands on it I will definitely do a comparison but it’s not high on my priority list at the moment. The 16mm from Sony is a decent lens and a very good budget option it’s also super small and pancake style so it’s going to fit in damn near any bag and it’s super compact which is always nice on this size camera. The downsides of the 16 mm from Sony is it has an older auto focus system so the motors are a little slower than a lot of the newer lenses. It also is only an F2.8 so it might not be the best lens for in office or home studio type set ups. I think if you could spare the extra 175 bucks it would be well worth it to go with the Sigma 16mm F1.4. That lens is like the go to lens for Sony crop sensor bodies and I really doubt you would be disappointed with that option. At the end of the day though whatever gets you out shooting go with that don't let a stop of light get you away from the creative process 🤘🏽

      😬 sadly this is the camera sensors slow read out. All of the Sony crop sensors suffer from this sadly. It was the main reason I sold my a6400 and got the a7c for a bcam for professional work.
      However this was shot in 4k 24FPS. The exact Sutter setting where at 1/100 to get good exposure however if you crank your shutter rolling shutter will be less noticable. • @JamesDBuzzard

      Technically you can not "get rid of the cropping issue" it has to do with the sensor size. There is no crop in 4k other than the APSC crop factor. You can get a wide angle adapter to compensate for it or a wider lens. Crop factor can be an advantage as well as a disadvantage.

    • @JamesDBuzzard
      @JamesDBuzzard  2 роки тому

      It really depends on what you’re shooting. If you want the widest lens possible under $450 the 12mm F2 from Rokinon or Samyang is a good option the Sigma 16mm 1.4 is another good option but it will be a tighter focal length. 12mm is an 18mm equivalent 16mm is a 24mm equivalent. Sigma is brighter in lowlight but the Rokinon is wider.
      So you need to ask yourself what am I shooting and how wide of a lens do I need to shoot it and how much light are you typically dealing with?
      Many people will be perfectly fine with the 16 mm F1.4 but some people will need a wider lens for their set up or home office or studio.
      Of course I could give you a quick answer and say “yes the Sigma 16 mm is the best lens” or “yes the 12 mm Rokinon is the best lens” but that is not going to give you the answer you need. I hope that makes sense 👊🏽
      If you can go to a local camera store and try out different focal lengths don’t worry so much about the brand of lens just try different focal lengths on your camera and then see what will work best for your scenario.

I would recommend getting a budget wide angle lens to start off like the Rokinon 14mm or 18mm. Rokinon also has lens bundles on their website as well 👌🏽 just stay away from the Tamron 20mm because it has some nasty focus breathing and super warped edges for video

      To be honest it will depend on how big your room is. 50mm is one of my favorite for photos but for live streaming you would need some distance between you and the lens so it just depends on your setup. Do you have a kit lens or any lenses yet? Sony does make that 28-60mm compact lens. I haven't tried it but might be a good option to look into. I have 2 and yeah if you got the budget go FF. Even the A7c is a great option if you are trying to stick with Sony. Just don't get the Tamron 20mm F2.8 it is garbage lol. No wide angle will be as bad as that one.

      @@JamesDBuzzard wait really why is it so bad? That and the 18mm Rokinon looked interesting. I had the tamron 17-28 briefly and it was so nice. I noticed lots of wide angle FF lenses are cheaper than mft and apsc so it's like all you gotta do is move to FF and then the world of glass changes.

      FF does open up a ton of glass options! The Tamron 20mm has really bad warping, bad focus all around, and the focus breathing is almost unusable even for talking head. It is bad. I ordered it when it was released and was surprised to find it sucked that bad all around. Haven't tried the Rokinon 18mm though
