I like to tell myself that I will make custom storage for my games, but finding the time (and motivation) can prove difficult. Those plastic containers look like they'll be a lifesaver
Yeah I've got Invader and the "chocolate box" is pretty time consuming setup / tear down. I like the card holder as it's something anyone can do, I'll generally 3D print when needed (FDM Usually) and Minis plus component upgrades Resin but the cardboard gets the job done easily and cheaply (Free). Sill even with the printers I'll go the lazy route sometimes and get the relevant folded space... I've also got a load of those mini snap boxes (Wilkinsons in the UK stock them in various sizes) which are really handy and very cheap also. My Tip I do with invader is I store the Character Cards in the plastic character boards. I initially didn't really like invader as I just though it to be an oversimplified implementation of a computer tactics style game but it is quite good Solo when your controlling all 6 characters.
I like what you wrote about the upgraded tokens. I’d be really interested in upgrading my game like that. I don’t own a 3D printer but if I did, you know what I would be doing! This is my first Zombicide and I haven’t played it fully just yet but from what I have played, it is really a blast to play! I’m think about buying Washington Z.C but I’m not sure if I should play through the core box first. The day/night cycle calls my attention a lot! The setup and tear down is huge with this one but a good insert/storage solution goes a long way. I’m guessing I can use Invader with the 2nd Edition. Maybe I should check that out, as well.
What are the dimension of your zombies case in 2:32 and 2:43? i can't seem to access the link you provided here before from hobby lobby. i plan to copy your storage solution. thanks in advance.
I couldn’t give you the exact dimensions because I bought those at Michael and they are constantly changing their inventory. You could find very similar craft boxes at Hobby Lobby and they’re much cheaper.
I’ve been considering making my own inserts for some of my big games. I like foam-core. It’s pretty cheap and can look sharp. I actually made a dice-rolling tower and then coated it in colored foam sheets with a peeled sticky side. I think it would be quite the project to make one for Gloomhaven or one of my other Big Games, but some of the smaller games (like Scythe or Firefly) I own might be a good place to start
You know, this isn’t the first time someone has mentioned Foam-core to me. I have to check it out because as you can tell, I’m into making my own inserts. Where can I find it? I’ve never looked into it but a quick search showed me Walmart. I’d appreciate the help and thanks for bringing this up to me. I’m actually thinking about making a future video on board game inserts (or lack there of). I’ll give you credit for bringing it to my attention, if you don’t mind. Thanks!
@@SoloBoardGamingKnight Yeah. I get mine from Walmart. It’s like $1.50 for a big sheet (poster board style). You’ll need a fresh utility blade to cut it (and a good place to make cuts like that), but it’s quite sturdy. It can also be painted and prettied-up with ease. The dice tower I built used toothpicks to secure pieces together, but glue would work if what you’re using it for isn’t heavy. That being said, toothpicks are cheap and if you prime the place you’re going to stick together with a thumbtack first (sort of like a pilot hole) it goes together super easily. If you used multiple toothpicks on a box that would contain cards, you’d never have to worry about the weight of the cards causing a problem. Craft Glue along the edges and you are even better off.
@@Gabefalconb That was awesome information you gave. I’m going to attempt it. I love the toothpick idea. Very clever and I can actually picture in my mind how it can actually work. If I create it and it works for me, I’ll make a video and give you credit for the idea. I’ll keep you updated. Thanks!
@@SoloBoardGamingKnight One let thing! Get toothpicks with one end in a point and me side that flattens on the other side (there’s two styles. Most toothpicks are pointed on both sides). It’ll make handling them less pointy. Haha. Having a pair of side-cutters to clip the excess toothpick off is a good idea, too! Good luck!
You’re welcome! The Creative Options box has little notches that hold the included dividers. You just cut the dividers you need with scissors. This storage option really speeds up setup and tear down. It works really well not only for this game but many games. The boxes are really affordable, as well.
It’s funny that you asked this. I’m currently working on the review so I can’t answer that just yet but I’m just as curious as you are. One of the biggest reasons I want to know if it’s good myself is because I want to know if Marvel Zombicide would be something I’m interested in. That Kickstarter is really expensive and there’s no way I’m backing it if I don’t enjoy this Zombicide. Hopefully by next week I’ll be able to have a definitive answer. Unfortunately, I’ve never played Arcadia/Starcadia Quest (should I play it?) so I won’t be able to compare those games. Hopefully I’ll be detailed enough to give you a good idea.
@@SoloBoardGamingKnight well the solo version of both came latter. Is more of a competive game but I personally think the solo rules although came later are well balanced and enjoyable if anything a bit punitive but that’s the joy overcoming challenges.

Baggies!!! LoL. I buy more baggies than a drug dealer! So useful.
Thanks for this video, it was super helpful! Is there a trick to getting the dividers on the right side of the creative options box to stay in place?

Are your cards sleeved? If so what size sleeves?
I used Gamegenic Mini American Clear Sleeves 44x67mm. Hope this helps! Take care.
How is zombicide? How do you like it? I haven’t gotten one yet im scare of how similar it seems to Arcadia quest or starcadia quest.
