  • Testing the $150 Custom Loop PC we bought on trade in, specs seem to be very old but can be a fun way to restore a once crazy gaming pc. We are going to put some decent money into this custom loop to make it actually good… Will it even be worth it?

    My brother has one of those cases, he got it with a GTX Titan XP ... the Star Wars version (Dark side).
    I actually have a GTX Titan, the original one, best way to describe it today is it would be a GTX 790. It runs, but DX11 and blower card only... so basically it runs at 70C, and it works on most games, but nothing that requires DX12.

    I see people complaining how 150 is low for this, have in mind, a Titan is just a 6gb card which performs the same as a 1060 in a lot of titles...and because of driver support, many games won't even work with the Titan. So 150 for a 4c/8t CPU, 16gb of ram, 120gb ssd, 1tb hdd and a card that is not even a 1060, 150 is a decent deal, 10th gen i3s which perform better than this i7 go for 25-30 bucks, with motherboards costing the same, using a 1060 you could replicate this build but better for 200 with some patience and deal hunting.

    • @BigDrewski1000

  • @Conumdrum

    It looks cool and I like it. It would be fun to have it as a secondary PC. It's a 2nd gen i7 and a 1080 is a better GPU than the Titan. So, it's just an acquainted PC with little to offer but conversation. The PSU is good but the GPU is missing the original fans. Who would build a newer custom loop and install that GPU?

    SP's us launch was in 2011, so while I believe that drive is newer than the PC, it doesn't have to be.
    Also... I have a SSD drive that has an IDE interface... it is fun to play with. It also proves that commercial SSD's are much older than you think.
    For specs it is a 128GB drive, and when new it ran about $10k.

    Somethings off with the loop, most ek gpu blocks you don't use all four of the inlet/outlet ports. I have a titan x block from ek and if you run it like this there would be a limited amount of pressure to push the water through the gpu block (path of least resistance). You should cap off one of each side (top one side bottom other side) and it should come out of the cpu block and go into a radiator.

    • @taylorouellet7068
      @taylorouellet7068 Місяць тому +1

      @Ethang2489 the difference between single channel memory and dual channel is that single channel memory uses only a single stick of memory. And the integrated graphics in an i5 2400 is actually the intel hd 3000. So it's much slower graphically. So much to where it's actually holding back the cpu and if it it just single channel memory, You are losing up to 20% performance on the cpu. Add in any low power gpu such as the gt 1030 2gb gddr5. You will see a huge increase in performance. It will go from lagging on UA-cam to being able to do some light gaming

    I'm in need of advice guys.....Gaming is something that I am interested in. My current rig has a X79SE Plus motherboard, Xeon E5 2660 V2 cpu, 16GB 1866Mhz DDR3 ram. All I'm lacking is the graphics card. Should I pair it with a GTX780 3GB windforce, AMD R9 380 4GB, or AMD RX550 4GB? All three are within my budget range

    imagine advertising a company selling keys purchased with stolen credit cards (where else would they get them). you can find them 20x cheaper anyways

    The opening reminds me of those dumb pawn shop "reality" shows that were never real.

    I legit wish I had a pc store near me. I don't think there's one within 2 hours. There's alot of downsides living in BFE

    Lucky you my Ryzen 9 5900x did something to the point where it melt down my motherboard socket fried my RTX 3060 12gb and G Skill Trident Z Neo cl14 3600mhz 4x8gb everything is lost freaking freaking depressing only thing I turned to because it helped with my Panic Attack Disorder and took my mind off it playing games now I just walk around the house with a cell phone.😢 and being on SSI in Florida it will take forever to buy another gaming PC.
