I was sceptical to try out Arms on the PTR after hearing all the Slam Spam horror stories. But after I took it for a little test run, I was pleasantly surprised. The change to Tactician certainly helped save this spec and the amount of options with Overpower and Rend make it a very fun playstyle. Fury will be my main spec on my Warrior. But I certainly won't mind playing as Arms every now and then.
Preach, by all that is holy, why are you not doing these class previews on the instant 110 beta realm? Besides showing a class at level 110 ( which is not the case for all of your previews ) you get a fully maxed artifact weapon. In this video, you talked about the traits for arms mattering quite a bit, so would it not make sense to actually show them?
I think the most ideal way they should have approached skilling in general now that you mentioned that at the ending of your video, would be: make specs feel like previous expansions, meaning that if you enjoyed a certain playstyle in an expansion, you can replicate that with your perks. Would love to see that
Another gr8 video , keep it up :D , Btw what's the weapon that the troll first seen in 1:21 uses , it looks like Chaos axe from Guild Wars , looks soooo COOL.
What I like about focussed rage, is that with the right setup, you can perform Vanilla-style Mortal Strikes that take 50% of an enemy's health. It might not be the perfect style for many scenarios, but I'm happy it's there.
Really gets my hopes up for my favorite warrior spec, I will admit to being a huge fan of MoP Arms, cause it was all there at your fingertips, looks like it can be almost there again.
Should be interesting to see how different Arms warriors numbers can be in similar gear. Because there's a lot of shit that you can keep stacking and get Huuge numbers, different play styles, etc.
Focused Rage is so much fun in PVP because there's good amount of downtime where you're chasing a target. There comes the idea of CD stacking which they made option for. Besides that come PVP talents which add whole new set of things which makes this spec to be a good option for Legion because of diversity.
Hey Preacher, correct me if I'm wrong but you appear to be zoomed out further than what everyone on the Legion Beta forum is saying possible in the current beta build. Is this the new 'max slider' position or are you somehow still able to use the scripts/mods to get out to the hard cap 50? This is clearly the biggest issue on the beta forums, also my biggest concern when it comes to whether or not I'm going to play Legion. I'm very interested to hear your stance. Cheers.
Would you take Arms over Fury in the state it's in for PvE Preach? I love Arms currently in HFC and try to use it most of the time, accept for a few fights where it sucks. Is it going to be a situational spec?
So since the arms rotation is somewhat dependent on your Artifact Abilities, how should I prioritize my Artifact Power? Do I try and give every ability a single point before maxing them out or should I Max them out as I unlock them?
So so so glad to see arms where it's at now. I mailed arms in cata and mists but had to drop it in WoD because I just couldn't stand it. I'm very excited to return to my one true main come Legion!
+nipa 101 ret is ass in WoD I'm fine with what they have done in legion. Would still prefer BC or wrath pally but legion pally is definitely better then WoD pally
i was seriously thinking about switching to fury because of how much i hate colossus smash. but after watching this vid and really understanding the titanic might talent, now it looks like ima continue my run on arms. thank mang.
Wrath / Cata period of Arms? ...I'm listening. Loving that the Tactician change doesn't limit us to Slam. Now just wish its chance increased the shorter the remaining time is (or, increasing over time until success), balanced as to still potentially get CS refreshes within a given CS window, but very unlikely to run over, say, 15 seconds and giving a small bonus when dealing with reduced uptime and/or necessary rage saving.
preach i dont know if you've noticed but i played a 110 fury warrior and arms warrior with full artifact power and fury does ALOT more damage, but in saying that it takes time building up unlike arms but in saying THAT if you have no CS arms execute is alot worse, so basicly fury is more reliable and stronger after about 5 stacks of juggernaut then arms
I'm swapping to warrior for legion, and in my mythic guild will I need to be playing arms or fury? I don't have access to the beta so I don't know what's stronger with the artifact. I've always enjoyed fury more but I'm the player that'll go arms if it's more damage cuz damage is fu
Been trying out each subspec of Arms on the 7.0.3 PTR, but have actually ended up liking most the build I thought I'd like least. Dauntless/Sweeping > Fervor > Rage > Calm > Anger. With the FR spam, especially during Deadly Calm, Warcry (err, Battle Cry) comes up incredibly fast, and at 22k per 20 rage Whirlwind becomes a viable ST option (compared to 11k per 12). I'd prefer if Whirlwind were only rotationally ST-preferable even then, synergizing with other effects, rather than Slam standing only as a 'not quite enough rage to fill this GCD with Whirlwind, but the higher rage expense and gains appeals to me due to Anger Management. ...Then again, in that case just stacking huge amounts of Haste probably could have done the same. Ravager still reminds me of the WoD CD-based/Commando style Warrior, and Opportunity Strikes is as boring as, well, rare auto-attack procs that don't produce that much Rage anyways, and have lesser synergy with the MS-Execute talent. Starting to really hate the new cleanly split ST-Cleave-AoE talent design philosophy, though, as it can situationally kill otherwise fun playstyles. Warrior already has a fairly brilliant potentially cross-niche synergy system via its rage, where a single Overpower could potentially fuel an otherwise too costly AoE, and a good AoE a good Execute, etc. >> [That is to say, if they'd allow skills themselves to generate rage, instead of solely AAs. Seeing as Crit, Mastery, and Haste should about equally affect AAs as all skills but Colossus Smash when used in another CS's window, I don't see why that would especially become a scaling issue. The biggest issue we're likely to hit, if Haste were ever so worthwhile, is simply 3 AA crits in a single It'd just make the class that much more interesting, while putting a slightly higher emphasis on pushing the edge/gamble, which talents-likely more interesting than many of these-could counter that to make a playstyle that's more willing to hold off on rage expenditure / save up.]
yeah seems like if mastery directly effected the % increased, that would carry over to dots. however its damage could increase as CS is applied like new age dots
Good video. I'm really enjoying these previews as I have over the years of expansion releases. I do have to say though you are talking incredibly fast and kind of jumping around a lot of topics in this one, I found myself having rewind the video to catch what was being talked about.
Looks much better than last time I saw it, which was the slam spam play style. I do still think that they should make tactician REDUCE the CD on CS instead of having a chance to reset it. The class fantasy is supposed to be this tactical warrior who looks for opportunities and openings in his opponents. Making the player being able to really set up and plan for the next CS window by reducing the CD instead of randomly resetting it is much more in line with that fantasy.
PeterSteel I prefered the MoP version over Cata. You had to be aware of the situation and plan ahead. But in the end you would just unnecessarily soak as much as you can because healers had 0 problems of keeping dps alive.
i think the rage refund from "in for the kill" probably works like that so it can work with the "anger management" talent i guess "anger management" wont really work if they simply made it free use at below 20%
I think he's actually mentioned this: It's mostly an idea of flavor. Warriors aren't supposed to be as meticulous, planning, careful etc in his mind, warriors just hammer buttons until people fall down. Rogues plan EVERYTHING, and so shadow dance makes so much more sense for them.
Chris, Fury is all about smashing your opponent. Arms is not about that. Arms is supposed to have planning and be thought out. That's the whole point of colossus smash in Arms. You break through the targets defense and then you hammer them down. They plan out their attacks and then execute them.
Imagine artifact weapons like.. another talent tree that you will have to level up through out the entire expansion. Artifact weapons are also super cosmetic, you can unlock skins by doing pvp, pve, doing quest and achievements etc. Ret paladins get Ashbringer, one guy could have a normal ashbringer, another guy might have the corrupted ashbringer skin.
so everyone has same weapon with different skins? .... what the hell is that, how stupid and lazy can blizzard get? whats next? same armor for everyone?
So, dauntless (the first talent) should be pretty bad then for an arms warrior no? since you have a higher chance to reset col smash by spending more rage. hence, if your moves cost less rage, you have a lower chance to reset it. Seems like a strange talent for this spec imho.
17:04 What the hell happened there Preach xD Hedeebada Hedeebada Hedeebada MISSING HEALTH! lol xD I'm geussing it was more of a "You guys know what it is, the usual sort of shizz blah blah blah" sort of thing :P
Isn't that kind of the point though? He says in the video he really wanted to show us some of the golden dragon artifact traits, and he would have been able to had he of used a 110 pre-made
I love how Preach is trying all these new things for his videos! It's great to see his channel evolve.
Loving all these look at videos. Keep them coming. The start, the content. your excitment and honest opinion. I love it all!
"Bladestorm is now baseline for Arms." Audibly yelled FUCK YEA
As a warrior main who has always found a way to enjoy Arms, this makes me incredibly happy.
As someone that has only seen legion arms in the previous video preach made it is a breath of fresh air to hear it is good now, was pretty worried.
Me too I was worried for arms in wod. Now I'm happy to hear good reviews 😀
Before the tactician change a few weeks ago it was in a rough place. Now MS and execute are worth pushing.
Intro music is Sir Alonne's theme from Dark Souls 2: the Old Iron King.
so glad your uploading this videos so much better then other channels
I have been enjoying the music and gameplay you have been doing in these vids now.
I really enjoy the new intro's with music, makes all the specs look more awesome so to say.
God I hope I enjoy this spec, I always wanted to play Arms.
ya but dont you need a level 100 warrior already? im still leveling mine so
on the ptr there lvl 100 templates you can make, dont need to copy your character over
You can make one with a lvl 100 template that is available on the ptr
+ThisOneDude how do you get into the ptr? :/
+Cthulhu The Fabulous When I try to download it it says I have not be invited to play this game.
I loved the hell out of Arms in WotLK and Cataclysm, the prospect of having that back again is amazing.
Yay arms actually has something for everyone well most people. I was a little worried from the last video but this renews my faith.
Have to admit, the first few times i heard music at the start of your previews i thought it was corny but my god it really fits
MUCH better intro music, GJ Preach!
dat is some intense music in the beginning i like it
Sir Alonne's theme from Dark Souls 2
Thanks you for the name
It is Sir alonne's theme from Darksouls 2
Thanks you too
It is Sir alonne's theme from Darksouls 2

I've been waiting for this since the fury video :D Warrior Hype!
Another gr8 video , keep it up :D , Btw what's the weapon that the troll first seen in 1:21 uses , it looks like Chaos axe from Guild Wars , looks soooo COOL.

I really enjoy your videos. I can't wait to see the Shadow Priest preview!
Nice Sir Alonne OST you got going there. Such a great boss fight, one of the best in the series
So with certain talent choices can you get pretty close to how fun Arms was in Cata? Because I see that they added back Overpower, Slam, and Rend
Oh my god. Colossus smash, deadly calm, EXECUTE EXECUTE EXECUTE!!! POPPING OFFFFFFFF
Should be interesting to see how different Arms warriors numbers can be in similar gear. Because there's a lot of shit that you can keep stacking and get Huuge numbers, different play styles, etc.
back in vanilla when you could 2 shot people with MS and overpower in a bg also which spec is looking better Fury or Arms from a PVE perspective.
arms is doing more damage but i think fury has more baseline aoe or i just suck at arms aoe
Focused Rage is so much fun in PVP because there's good amount of downtime where you're chasing a target. There comes the idea of CD stacking which they made option for. Besides that come PVP talents which add whole new set of things which makes this spec to be a good option for Legion because of diversity.
Thank you for the video. Now, as a warrior player, i'm only concerned about the protection warrior, because fury and arms looks GREAT!
Hey Preacher, correct me if I'm wrong but you appear to be zoomed out further than what everyone on the Legion Beta forum is saying possible in the current beta build. the question is, if u pick deadly calm and use battle cry execute, will it deal dmg as if 40 rage was consumded, or just 10?
Full 40 rage damage.
source?
Blizz devs.... gotta read the forums man. ( Im also testing arms since alpha )
do you make a video for the current furor warrior or is there nothing new since the video u made for 6 month?
So since the arms rotation is somewhat dependent on your Artifact Abilities, how should I prioritize my Artifact Power? Do I try and give every ability a single point before maxing them out or should I Max them out as I unlock them?
oh my god how fast are these vids coming out. this is awesome!
So so so glad to see arms where it's at now. I mailed arms in cata and mists but had to drop it in WoD because I just couldn't stand it. I'm very excited to return to my one true main come Legion!
Although Arms look sick, I just noticed the casting anims on that fire mage at the start! He's literally throwing spells! So sick.
I just want to know what are his top picks for Legion. I'm guessing monk warrior and warlock might be up there...
I'm just having trouble figuring out if I should stay Fury or commit more to Arms in Legion xD
Sounds like the Arms Warrior has a great talent tree. Hopefully most of it will be viable for high end raiding.
I'd like that as well. will test it later tonight for fun on the ptr.
Every class/spec is viable for high end raiding.
is fervor of battle a common saying or something? because that's a mastery league aswell
Fervor - An intense and passionate feeling. Fervor of battle is having an intense and passionate attitude in combat.
Maddie Scott ah cool thanks :) the more you know
Preach, does Dauntless affect the Tactician passive?
Since you're not tanking in legion, what class are you going to main?
Is the 3rd warrior relic slot still gated behind a mythic+ dungeon?
Does it sound like low-level gameplay is messed up when artifact weapon is not available....
-Gasp- A fun Legion class? ; )
> Warrior
> Fun
Pick one.
Apparently you haven't seen fury
tyler boswell
Looking good? Honestly, I really want to play my prot pally.
+nipa 101 ret is ass in WoD I'm fine with what they have done in legion. Would still prefer BC or wrath pally but legion pally is definitely better then WoD pally
i was seriously thinking about switching to fury because of how much i hate colossus smash. but after watching this vid and really understanding the titanic might talent, now it looks like ima continue my run on arms. thank mang.

Wait, if you choose dauntless as a talent, wont tactician be a bit gimped, as its per rage spent?
so lets see if i get it wrong or correct . we can have 2 talents specs with 2 artefact weapons each for each spec ?
Overpower is back!!! Finally, Arms isn't the dumbed down shit spec it is in Warlords
loooool just wait til you play it
overpower is bad on arms. No chance of a colosus smash reset but uses rage and global. Probably good in PvP though.
Colossus Smash is based on rage spend now so overpower can proc a reset
Tactician from your artifact weapon changes this, so OP will reset CS.
Oh sweet, overpower is back and it doesn't suck. Guess I need to keep constant watch on the beta cuz of the constant changes. Shit
preach i dont know if you've noticed but i played a 110 fury warrior and arms warrior with full artifact power and fury does ALOT more damage, but in saying that it takes time building up unlike arms but in saying THAT if you have no CS arms execute is alot worse, so basicly fury is more reliable and stronger after about 5 stacks of juggernaut then arms

Is having a passive that gives more autoattack damage but each attack costs like 4 rage or something a good/ bad idea?
This video makes my gnome happy. Thanks.
Because Dauntless reduces the rage you use, does that affect Tactician procs?
No, Tactician will proc based on the original rage cost. Anything used during Deadly Calm will also not be affected.
Ok, thanks!
It actually did at first and Blizz came out and said that was unintentional. They've since fixed it.
I don't mind CS for arms. Arms is meant to be the soldier/fighter/duelist spec. Fury is the berserker/barbarian spec
Been trying out each subspec of Arms on the 7.0.3 PTR, but have actually ended up liking most the build I thought I'd like least. Dauntless/Sweeping > Fervor > Rage > Calm > Anger. I wish you showed some rotation at the end of the video. Other than that, its a great guide. Thanks mate!
does a demon hunter play like a fury tank except holds threat because it's made for tanking?
this actually looks pretty damn good, I'm a little shocked
Question: You mentioned in the feral video that bleeds still snapshot from tiger's fury, does the rend in arms also then snapshot colossus smash?
Rend isn't affected by armor if I'm not mistaken.
yeah seems like if mastery directly effected the % increased, that would carry over to dots. however its damage could increase as CS is applied like new age dots
+Greenfire Demonology it does but its been awhile since ive tested it, so im not sure if they've changed it or not
I was sceptical at first, but this looks pretty fun. For the record, I've been playing Arms since TBC pretty much.
what are you going to cover after melee dps?
is sub rogue better now? you should do that video next
Are you incapable of resetting colossus smash in battle cry if you take the deadly calm talent, since you aren't spending rage?
CS will proc, Tactician always procs with the original rage cost of the ability, dauntless doesnt affect tactician procs as well.
They really should have made the warrior artifact weapon faction based. These no lore random weapons are boring.
Gorehowl for horde and ashkandi for Alliance would have been great.
+Fermín Caballero Yes! I agree with that.
That and the fact they made it a sword rather than a big ass axe really rustles my jimmies.
+Coby Folk Exactly. It's not even a cool sword either lol
+TheCynicalJay I mean we already have 2-h swords for Ret, Unholy, Fury... You'd think they'd spread the weapon-type love.
Good video. I'm really enjoying these previews as I have over the years of expansion releases. I do have to say though you are talking incredibly fast and kind of jumping around a lot of topics in this one, I found myself having rewind the video to catch what was being talked about.
Much much much better intro music this time. A+.
I wish you would've talked about how awesome the overpower animation is!
what is the opening song? that was epic!
Arms is the spec most reliant on the artifact weapon? Who would have thought!
Don't feel rushed Preach! If you miss a few specs before launch, then so be it!
If you're not bothered about numbers etc, why dont you make your chars on the PVP premade realm where you are 110 and also get all the artifact perks?
when are u doing he affly lock?
I really enjoyed the MoP style of arms which felt very spammy, and being able to talent for that is really nice.
I liked Stance Dance Warrior. Does it have that :3?
.
I know. It's just that he said that there was something we'd like if we liked arms at any point within the past 5 years.
stance dance was just about using macros. I don't get why people still think that this is/was something special.
+thststth I just liked the concept and the way it played out.
PeterSteel I prefered the MoP version over Cata. You had to be aware of the situation and plan ahead. But in the end you would just unnecessarily soak as much as you can because healers had 0 problems of keeping dps alive.
is fury (or arms) viable in both pvp/pve. i'd hate to change specs and not power my artefact properly.
They are both very viable in both pve and pvp (sorry this comment is a bit late).
You posted this the day I lost my virginity thank you.
Holy fucking shit your verbal output is subtle as an Irish bar brawler.
i think the rage refund from "in for the kill" probably works like that so it can work with the "anger management" talent
i guess "anger management" wont really work if they simply made it free use at below 20%
so what stat does arms want the most then?
So enhance up next? :)
Warrior is BACK boys!!!
how can you hate Csmash but main a sub rogue with shadow dance?
lol
I think he's actually mentioned this: It's mostly an idea of flavor. Warriors aren't supposed to be as meticulous, planning, careful etc in his mind, warriors just hammer buttons until people fall down. Rogues plan EVERYTHING, and so shadow dance makes so much more sense for them.
Chris you are way overthinking it..

Chris Taylor Arms is about finesse
Can someone explain, I havent played wow since TBC. Everyone will have same weapon? How does that make sense?
artifact weapons look it up
Imagine artifact weapons like.. another talent tree that you will have to level up through out the entire expansion. Artifact weapons are also super cosmetic, you can unlock skins by doing pvp, pve, doing quest and achievements etc. Ret paladins get Ashbringer, one guy could have a normal ashbringer, another guy might have the corrupted ashbringer skin.
that doesn't help him....
Jamie Baum How would you explain artifact weapons? Just a talent tree you can make look pretty. If it makes sense or not is a matter of opinion.
so everyone has same weapon with different skins? .... what the hell is that, how stupid and lazy can blizzard get? whats next? same armor for everyone?
Nice, might finally get a chance to main Arms and not be bored.
So, dauntless (the first talent) should be pretty bad then for an arms warrior no? since you have a higher chance to reset col smash by spending more rage. hence, if your moves cost less rage, you have a lower chance to reset it. Seems like a strange talent for this spec imho.
Is good for pve, since you wont be getting rage from taking hits, overpower is the way to go on pvp
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG
17:04 What the hell happened there Preach xD Hedeebada Hedeebada Hedeebada MISSING HEALTH! lol xD I'm geussing it was more of a "You guys know what it is, the usual sort of shizz blah blah blah" sort of thing :P
How do you like rend lol?
the damage might be also amplified by CS
I don't find it to be currently
Well its another ability for tactician I guess
It does a fuck ton of damage for only clicking 1 button.
bleeds go through 100% armor rendering (pun intended) CS useless with rend since it has the buff permanlty
Which dark souls boss is the music from?
Sir alonne theme
what's your reasoning for not using Premades on the PvP server?
Isn't that kind of the point though? He says in the video he really wanted to show us some of the golden dragon artifact traits, and he would have been able to had he of used a 110 pre-made
I dont think the PvP server has the Dungeon Finder enabled, or any instances.
Well I was pointing more towards these videos where he's on the target dummies, but I mean either way it hardly matters he goes over it all anyway ^_^
Magic Immunity, Health Bonus and Minor Damage boost on Avatar like in Warcraft 3? :P
I'm gonna' stick with my warrior again as with every expansion since wrath. Nothing beats a warrior, ever.
New Spec, Alms Warrior.
With spells such as: Feed the Needy, Donate and Philanthropy.
Been waiting for this. crossing fingers.
I just realized I've been doing it wrong for years. I've always built around mortal strike and bladestorm with crit and haste. It's, erm, oddly tanky.
