@@FrostbiteRam I think my box bottom may be a little warped with the heat since I have had it for about 3 1/2 years now(2 years on a 2014 and 1 1/2 on a 2018 Rebel. No matter how I try to rearrange the box it will not line up, I wonder if it has warranty?

The hole lined up perfectly with the hood light and the other metal bracket on the side that holds the side of the liner. I'm not sure what else could I adjust on the top.
2 part question Q#1 do you have to get a tune after install cold air intake or can you still keep factory specs? Q#2 does the upper setup allow water or moisture to be sucked into the box and possibly get into the throttle?
What type and year is your Ram? I have the 2019 new body style, 5.7 eTorque. Trying to get a CIA, but I've been told that mopar hasn't released one yet for that year, unless it's the classic. I'm thinking either Mopar or Vararam. And seeing your video, now I'm thinking maybe to cutouts for the hood as well.
Hi, I had a Vararam intake and in my opinion, it was not worth the money. Negligible performance gains without a tune and really, negligible performance gains over other CAIs. It didn't fit very well. The filter is really frustrating to attach in the body of the intake. The kit requires that you cut or remove the front sight shield on top of the radiator so the intake scoop can have access to the grille. Bolt holes didn't line up where the scoop attached to the body of the intake. The only thing supporting the weight of the intake is the rubberized tube that sits on top of the throttle body. My biggest gripe with it was that it looked really junky. The rubber bellows on the bottom of the intake look weird and are obviously a design afterthought. It seriously looked like an unfinished test rig for a future finished product. I would go with literally any other CAI and a good tune.
So I hear if you install an after market intake you will void the factory warranty. Does using the Mopar intake system protect from that. Been wanting to install one on my RAM.
I think you will find that the single scoop inlet (especially when shooting nitrous) does not flow enough. Granted it does flow cold outside air but so does the fender inlet. This is why Mopar factory cars always had huge hood scoops. I doubt if both scoops would flow enough. The advantage is that even the small amount of cold air gained is better than none at all, especially when mixed with the air from the fender. I went to a supercharger, which uses an intercooler mounted in front of the radiator, but that is a completely different animal.
@@FrostbiteRam what if you have plastic wheel well covers?? it blocks the air. and that little vent on the hood seems too small to get enough air into the air box.

What happens when you drive 4-5 hours in a downpour of rain? There’s no way the filter doesn’t get wet right? Just wondering. Thanks!!!
No problems at all, considering it's Manufactured from mopar I'm sure they thought about that. I've been in plenty of rain never a problem.
Hello. Great review.

I'm running the vararam I like it..
That's a good one also.
Big Joe, what year is yours? I'm looking at a vararam for my 2019. I'm worried about it not fitting.
@@SuperSaiyanX-0014 mine is a 2011 ram RT
That was my thought in a money comparison.
You could get a vararam intake and a ported or bigger throttle body vs. the cost of the complete mopar air intake.
What about rain?
It doesn't get wet no issue with rain.
I would imagine driving into rain, and with the added suction into hood, it would most definitely pull in some level of water/moisture into the intake... it would have to. There isn’t any reason it wouldnt
@@bradwilson4697 never had an issue with it, the little bit of water that goes in dosen't get to the filter. The filter sits in the back of the box so water just goes to bottom if any got in. But never seen any.
Have you had any issues with water getting in??
Nope
