    Guys, do not write English well. But like I want to thank you, first for advice on how to set up the equipment and then fillet eels for bait. I listened to everything, went with his fiancee in Kukubara Park and already in the second exit caught two bull sharks at 8 kg. and that, one I missed, I stalked. In the end we are filleted and roasted on advice that you have given. I never ate more delicious fish. You have a big greeting from one fishing enthusiasts from Bosnia and Herzegovina, You made my life, because these are the first two sharks in my life. Thanks again :) Jasmin

    If you use Ike Jime and brain spike the shark then cut the tail off, the heart will continue to pump blood. That way you can brain kill the shark and not have it bleed out while conscious. This method works for other sharks as well.

      More ethical too. To me ike jime is the most ethical way of dispatching

    With the sharks cut tail then head off at the same time, kills them fast and gets ammonia taste out and it makes it easier to process, gut, take fins off and take head and tail off then it’s trunked and easy to prepare but put in an ice slury to make preparing easier, hope this helped for anyone who needs tips

    Ah we roll a bit different in NSW but same principles. we use like 20lbs line... and we stab the veins that run near the pectoral fins... but same shit... maybe your way is easyer... Also people have no idea how infested some of our rivers are with these sharks. This is the same as bream fishing to me.

    hey mate good to see an aussie fishing show your two are dead set troopers loved every minute of the show, im going to try my luck next week in the Clarence river located in Grafton NSW and im using freshly caught mullet fillets i sure hope they work but if i come across an eel apparently from talk of the town they are the best bait for the job. Question do you find fresh mullet to work better and dose it matter if the mullet is caught at the mouth of the river so its clean or would you use the mullet from the river that are more muddy?

    • @teammadmullet
      @teammadmullet  11 років тому

      mate fresher the better, even better if you keep them alive. once you freeze mullet it looses a lot of the smell and flavour. good luck mate, send me your report on how you went. cheers kurt

    Hey mate. Top video and good to see it all in real time. Don't worry about the people calling you a poacher, there is a reason the government banned fishing on other sharks and not bullsharks... and that's because there is plenty of them. The greeny in me says top job for eating them too (that's a natural food chain right there)

    Here's a list of public fishing jetties and shore fishing locations on the Logan River for anyone wanting to try landing a shark. 1. Jetty @ Riverdale Park Armstrong Rd, Meadowbrook... 2. A couple of jetties @ Alexander Clark Park Dewar Rd, Loganholme( I think this maybe where Kurt filmed this video). 3. Couple more jetties @ Logan River Parklands, Pacific Motorway, Beenleigh/Eagleby(by the old red bridge). 4. Jetty @ Skinners Park Skinners Rd, Carbrook or 5. Fishing platform opposite side of the river @ end of Wharf Rd, Eagleby. 6. Rotary Park Rotary Park Rd, Alberton(shore fishing access). 7. End of Alberton Rd Alberton(shore fishing access). 8. Beitz Park Beitz Rd, Alberton(shore fishing access). 9. Riedel Park Riedel Rd Carbrook(shore fishing access). There maybe some spots Ive missed but thats the ones I can think of of top of my head.

    im not a nature freak or anything and i love fishing but i do think making the shark bleed out is a little unnecessary

    • @Jackedup1269
      @Jackedup1269 9 років тому +2

      It is necessary as when the shark dies it will release its blood into the meat causing the meat to taste pretty horrid (imo) people do it with lots of fish, it just tastes better to bleed them as quick as possible

    • @MickeythaPleb
      @MickeythaPleb 9 років тому +1

      +BvddsClips It is a bit sad for sure, but it actually is pretty necessary if your plan is to eat them. The meat will taste a lot worse if it's not bled immediately. It's similar with Salmon and Tailor, which is why anglers will cut their throats as soon as they pull them from the surf.

    I'm in Kansas. Which is quite far away from any part of Australia. How far away from the ocean are you guys? I've seen the tv shows about river bull sharks in Australia and I was just wondering how far upstream they are.

      Hey mate. We are about 20 minutes from the bay. They adapt to sweet water and have been found as far as Bremer river, ipswich, which is 1.5 hour drive from ocean.

      In the US, bull sharks have been caught in the Mississippi River as far north as Illinois.

      lokisgodhi Yes but its pretty uncommon for them to go up North that far. If they do make it that far its almost guaranteed to be an isolated occurrence.
