Thank you Simon for the interview on the MS75. My father will be proud of the car. And I am thankful to him for buying it and my Uncle for all his support in getting it to its final result.

Well done for battling the heat & producing such a good video. I think you packed a lot of "rare grooves" into an hour as well as some great owner stories. The Bromley event is special for me as I used to live there & have been many a time but only recently with classics. If its cancelled next year because of "ULEZ" it will be missed in the classic car show calender for sure.

Thanks, Kevin. It was impossible to edit this as there was so many wonderful cars to see and owners to chat to this year.... in the end I gave up and tipped over the hour for the first time ever .. which says much about the quality this show draws in! Thanks for watching.

Watching old videos on you're channel which are great btw ,but what made me chuckle on this particular one is when you ask us if we can spot the error on the green Sierra estate immediately after the clip of the 2.3 mk4 cortina with a glaringly obvious engine swap & cosworth Sierra wheels 😂😂

Off to a flying start there with an unmodified Nissan SX, an immaculate MK1 fiesta and it's great to see young people embracing classics with that moggy 1000. A very popular starter classic these days.
Great story with that lotos Cortina too.
Now the Renault Spider, not one but two examples of an exceedingly rare car.
I've seen on on the road last year, a few at a Renault show over a decade ago and a red one in Renault Leeds in the 90's. They were available in red, blue or the more well known yellow. These I believe were aluminium bodied and used the same 2.0 16v F7R engine from the Clio Williams and the pre facelift Mégane coupe in its top spec (as well as the maxi Mégane rally car). The spider was compromised as it didn't even have a heater but they look like nothing else. As far as I'm aware legislation stipulated all UK road cars had to have a windscreen but I actually prefer them with anyway.
There was either an R20 or 30 at FOTU last year which I sadly didn't get a closer look at. They are a fabulously period styled car which I think are starting too look even better with age.and I really need to get up close to one of these when I can.
Next to that Reliant Sabre is what looks to be a GTC, a former work colleague had one of those.
That Mazda RX7 looks fabulous and rare but probably not by comparison to that really early RX.
Note the mk4 Cortina with its nodding dog and Goodman's shelf speakers which were such a common sight years ago.
The Orion and MK1 fiesta XR2 take me back. Hard to believe how cheap these would have become by the mid 1990's when people just saw them as old cars.
That MK1 metro really was the car to take on the world, well at least it was for the first few years untill string completion from European manufactures came. That particular metro looks far plusher than the base spec W reg metro my dad owned for a short time in the mid 80's.
That auto union is a very elegant, sleek looking car and very different to its modern day descendants.
Wow an XM estate. The French do love their family cars even in the executive segment.
You don't see many C15 vans anymore, especially motorhomes. These and the Renault Extra were still knocking around well into the 90's when the cars they were based upon were discontinued.
Always nice to see a Commer dormomobile. It's nice to see a period camper interior. Perfect for attending shows like this being able to arrive and make breakfast.
Great to see an early Sierra and one that's not a Cosworth. Love those early tail lights.
I saw a Gilburn a few weekends ago at a show but didn't get to feature the car too heavily.
That Maserati is spectacular. They made some fabulous cars over the years, my personal.favourate being the Bora.
You see a lot of C class mercedes I'm silver but nevereyalic orange but it was one of those colours that were popular for a while.
Nice to.see am R170 SLK, as you know I reviewed one last year. These cars were such a talking point back in the day.
That NSU looks such an interesting car.
I recall watching the Volvo 850R on TV in touring car racing. They were a force to be reckoned with on and off the track.
Nice tidy Nova and was that a Carlton GSI next to it?
Don't think.obr ever seen the generation of Celica as a convertible.
Nissan Bluebird was tha Taxi of choice back in the day. I've actually driven one dashed as a Maxima in south East Asia a few decades ago and it drove pretty well.
The Peugeot 405 estate was an estate car from a time where most estates didn't look good but these still look really nice.
That BMW coupe CSI looks so elegant and in a fabulous colour.
Toyota Crown and Laurel are real unicorns.
That was a great show Simon.

The xm is a 96 on N plate. But it is also a rare V6 12v estate. I have 2 Xm here at home.. but older hatchback models..

    • @Lot76CARS
      @Lot76CARS  Рік тому +1

Thank you, the V6 must be rare and probably expensive when new. My Dad had a CX in 1980, Citroen made such great large cars that shunned convention!

    • @Mr80sliveon
      @Mr80sliveon Рік тому +1

They are rare in the estates, but as the Xm was the first V6 offered after the Sm was discontinued it sold fairly well in V6 Hatch form. The two I have one is a 2.1td with 268,000 miles on it, and the other is a V6 12v manual with about 160,000 miles on it.

Great show, shame I missed it this year,I'm sure the show will continue but sadly due to Sadiq Kahn and his expected ULEZ extension I suspect that numbers of classic owners will be significantly lower for the following years due to the ULEZ £12.50 charge to drive your car there before you even pay the entrance fee !
You wouldn't mind paying the ULEZ charge if it was actually going to "help clean Londons polluted air' but as we all know that's not the case.
I can see shows like this being evolved and pushed out to areas passed the 'zone' which means originally historic shows like this and others will either be disappearing altogether or never be the same again 😔
