The first fix is to ensure Child Lock is not engaged
The Child Lock feature was added to your washer primarily to prevent accidental door-opening. Disable the feature, if engaged, to open the door. Refer to your washer's user manual on disengaging Child Lock: this procedure varies by model.
Power the washer on to open the door
If your washer is off, power it on to open the door. The washer has an electrical door-locking mechanism; it must be turned on first before the door opens.
Drain residual water in the tub
Your washer won’t open if it detects residual water in the tub. Drain this water before trying to open the door. To do this:
• Open the filter access panel at the bottom of the front panel to access the emergency drain hose.
• Remove the cap from the hose and drain the water into a container or a rug.
• Refit the hose cap when done and fix the hose back into the panel before attempting to open the door.
