3:54 A couple notes. You can look at the heroes cards when you draw your hand of 7 cards. Depending on what you get you may change where you draw from. If you get a second fast card, it jumps to the beginning of the line.
21:00 not 100% sure. But when splitting damage you still have to account for guarding cards. The damage is applied all at once, so, the guarded card is still protected. The key word to watch out is “target” when stated you deal damage to target cards, you can’t deal damage to cards being card, because they are not valid targets. However you still could have activated the tank to finish the combat in one swoop
I think you're right too, but in the moment that felt anti-fun, so I ignored my gut feeling that I was playing wrong ;)
@@OneStopCoopShop I totally agree. When i play solo, i ajust a few things on the fly. Since targeting and guarding is one of the main core mechanics of this game, i felt that it needed to be pointed out, in case someone has doubts on the ruling
15:51 you are right. No powerup on the hq on the solo variant
I figured as much. Thanks for confirming!
At 44:40 is the start of Mike's opinion, for anyone interested. ;)
Thanks! I didn’t think this was deep enough of a discussion to call a “review”, which is why I didn’t timestamp that separately 😅
9:14 you also could have drawn a jinx or mutt card.
I tend to play 3 heroes but I only do 4 deployments its not as punishing
Oh yeah that would definitely help. And yes, I pretty much only play 3-handed solo. I just wanted to try the official solo scenario (as you can tell, I didn't love it)
@@OneStopCoopShopmulti-handed is def more fun than the official solo variant.
Hi Mike, I always thought when you defend, it's ''equal to'' or more shield that the card gets recycles under the deck, not only more than. Was I correct ?
I wish! That would make things a lot easier. But no, check the rules and you will see if your card has:
- HIGHER defense, it goes to the bottom of your deck
- EQUAL defense, it gets discarded
- LESS defense, draw again
Yep. Mike is right. It’s unfortunate too because it’s leads to some anti-thematic moments.
Like having one card left in your deck and taking 2 damage. You draw the card and it has 2 shields. Intuitively, you blocked the attack. But alas, you discard the card and die 😢
@@mitchschroeder1151 Think of shields as HP and it'll make more sense. It's not blocking an attack so much as the ability to withstand damage. If you have 1 shield in your deck, you're alive. If not, you're defeated.
