      Ok well first of all it sounds like something went wrong with their training, however when they move away when you’re cinching them up make them move their feet around such as (backing up, if they know how to yield their hind quarters do that too) so basically turn their idea of moving into your idea and just make them move a whole bunch, I highly suggest making them back up a good 50 feet. It just makes them work and listen to you and not be so reactive.

    Very interesting… I had a horse named Feather when I was a kid. Man I miss riding horses.. sprinting on a horse is so much funnier than riding a machine. Still will dream I’m riding sometimes. I got to get one for myself but they’re so expensive now I feel like.

    What the brand/type of cinch you use in this video? I'm trying to do my research on how to care and tack up horses (western) because I think in the next year or two I'm getting a horse, not for sure though

      i’m not sure which one she is using in the video, but my own personal favorite is the professionals choice cinch. it’s really easy to clean, and my horse seems to be really comfortable whenever i use it :)

    Know nothing abt horses but isn’t that where their lungs are found. Why not cinch near the hind legs?

    • @Ashley24K
      @Ashley24K 2 роки тому +1

      For some saddles there is a cinch further back on the horse but it should not be done as tight as the front cinch because it would be uncomfortable for the horse.
      If you have ever seen a bucking horse at a rodeo look closely at the end of their back/belly you will see a strap that is pulled tight around them. This strap aids in helping them to buck. Naturally, you would not want your saddle horse to buck while you are riding.
      If a horse is saddled correctly (in my opinion) the cinch should not be as tight as you can get it. Rather you cinch should be tight enough to hold your saddle on the horse without cutting them in half. You want the saddle tight enough so it does not roll on the horse, but a properly fitting saddle and the rider’s skill also play into a saddle staying upright along with cinch tightness. Proper cinch placement and tautness will allow the horse to breath easiest.
