Langfiles Ep. 20: Malay

Time for a new episode. Today we look at Malay 🇲🇾🇧🇳🇸🇬 (and Indonesian 🇮🇩 to some extent) and see how it developed, how it functions and we get a sneak peek about how different the dialects can be.

As an indonesian, i have to say the dialect i understand the least has got to be the Kelantan-pattani malay. From my understanding even malaysians from johor, malacca and other places on the west coast also find it hard to understand the kelantan dialect

padahal orang Indonesia nonton kartun Malaysia memakai subtitle, begitu pula sebaliknya saat Malaysia menonton sinetron Indonesia, jika perbandingan kasus bagaimana bahasa Serbia vs Kroasia vs Bosnia atau Hindi vs Urdu yang diklaim bahasa berbeda karena politik
