Right at 0:28, he did let off. Should have pulled the clutch. Mine stuck full throttle once. I was much more lucky than him. I wrecked, just not as bad.

Well, you know.
Even 40 years ago people couldn't stop a wheelie from going over. It is rather difficult: one must roll off the throttle.
Or tap the back brakes... You would think if its a common occurrence they would have a hand brake lever (many stunt riders do since their feet may be standing on the gas tank or seat or standing on the handlebars etc), or they would relocate the brake pedal to wherever they are putting their feet (or if they have 2 different peg positions, 2 foot brakes).
I could understand more with modern traction control systems (when the front wheel is off the ground it stops accelerating like the rear is so power is near instantly chopped at a thousand times per second) if they skipped having useable rear brakes, but clearly these custom builds are not using traction control and should have the brakes somewhere where you can use them...

I raced for years and when I felt that rear bite and front-end raise I would get out of throttle. Damn now I ride Harleys and it's quite different than the Suzuki's that I rode. Especially weight.

I've never understood burnout contests, seems like a really dumb event. You can get a mini trail to spin the rear tire, so you just keep it going.....so, what ? That's supposed to be a big deal?

I use to live down the street from a drag motorcycle family. They had a really long driveway and would regularly practice burnouts on the weekends. The father won a bunch of titles at our local drag strip. Sadly, he was killed in a motorcycle accident while crossing some RxR. His kids that I grew up with said that he hit RxR too fast and was ejected from his saddle and collided with RxR sign
At least homeboy went out doing what he loved.

This one's for free - Why not just make a small lever onder the motor, that touches the asphalt, that keeps the ingintion on.. Once the sting lifts to much, the power is cut - safety aquired for no money... A lot cheaper than a crash..
Some classes don’t allow wheelie bars.

harley flipped cause he launched at way to low RPM, rear tire should be spinning a bit carry front tire 6-10 inches above ground. Total traction causes flips

@mariocosentino20 Harley guys I swear. Never had this problem on my hayabusa. More hp and torque yet tapping the rear brake slows you, not panicking does as well. Cut the throttle no excuse lol, he got scared and held on.

It's funny how others chastise harley riders when they put their bike out of its own comfort zone and call them out for being unsafe when most fatal motorcycle accidents are on sportbikes. Cruisers are slow, so it's fun to hoon around in without fearing any danger. Even with full gear, you're more likely to die on a sportbike than a cruiser. Why do you think people call sportbike riders, "organ donors."
I have never seen a sport bike rider crash off the line said no one ever.
Started motorcycle racing in 85' at Orlando Speed World. I'm really surprised to see what some track operators let go down the track. Safety is a joke to some people......

@samhartley3475 That is crazy, haven't they seen any road rash injuries with cyclists? I leaned in the 70's that road rash was much worse than breaking bones was crashing my skateboards & the skin grafts weren't t too great either back then 😞
Luckily after he fell off the motorcycle the throttle returned to the idle position he could have done that a couple of seconds before
