The front end didnt “wash out”. When the bike wheelie’d she held the bars almost all the way pointed left and it caused a tank slapper when the front wheel came down. Rider error.
Yes keep the wheel pointed in the direction of travel when it comes off the ground. Pointing it fully one way in a wheelie is the same mentality as the people that turn the steering wheel full lock when the front tires slip in their cars only to have the car go out of control when it catches
Was gonna say, needed to lock her arms straight, (direction of travel). I've riden a couple speed wobbles out that way. With dirt bikes in sand it's essential.
It looks like the wheelie bars were so ”tight” that it kept the front tire touching the ground, fooling her into thinking it was doing something; by the time she realized it wasn’t and closed the throttle, she was at full left lock 😂
Yeah that was a heavy head and body plant. She was steering left to counter the torque twist but ended up with that vicious washout.. Then poor mum was in shock and cried. I don't think mum will be keen to help fund future ventures in the sport. She is one tough cookie to walk away from that spill that young girl.
One of my favorite things in life is putting cycle drag on and wrenching on my bikes even though some people may call it a moped but my little puch moped does 58 and that's motorcycle speeds if you ask me . I've been having a terrible day but seeing this episode reminds me every one has something it could be one thing or another. Love you all ride safe
The front end DID NOT wash out! The front wheel was off the ground and she had the bars turned when the wheel came down. That's called amateur rider that has no business on a race track. But since she's a female, she's strong and vicious.
I'm glad they showed that shot of the girl giving the thumbs-up with a smile that was a horrible accident. Let this be a lesson learned for anybody not wearing a helmet on the street at any time or on a dirt bike in the dirt. Always proper racing leathers and certified helmet.
A lot of these mistakes could have been avoided, they’re not aware of the track rubber and glue. That huge grip can break transmissions, that box is legit.
The bike was essentially doing a wheelie, but the wheelie bars are adjusted so tight that the front tire was kept in contact with the track, giving her the *sensation* that she could steer w/ the handlebars… when she came to the conclusion it wasn’t working she lifted off the throttle which reconnected the front tire to the ground; unfortunately it was at full left lock 😅
The 1st time I dragged was on a 99 busa I didn't realize the track bite was so sticky and almost tipped it over when my feet stuck to the ground moving up to the line. We all got to start somewhere, we all get better. Still pulled off a 10.4 on my 1st run so not so bad for a rookie.
4:25 The bike was doing a wheelie, but the wheelie bars are adjusted so tight that the front tire was kept in slight contact with the track, giving her the *sensation* that she could steer w/ the handlebars… when she came to the conclusion it wasn’t working she lifted off the throttle which reconnected the front tire to the ground; unfortunately it was at full left lock 😅
Looked like the young girl (Bailey) had the bars turned as the bike was on the wheelie bars and when the front wheel touched down crooked, it fell over. Glad she walked away.
Jack, I was watching your interview with Chris Moore over his historic 5 sec. pass. It might be quite interesting if you research the history of grudge racing and why it is what it is....that would explain some of the rules and decision making of the past and why some might be resistant to change. Peace.
Hi Ray. Thanks a lot. That sounds like that would be an interesting piece. Thanks a lot for watching. What was the most surprising clip in this video for you and why?
wanted to comment on your short about the Suzuki GS1100. It was the first 4 valve bike and lead to the very underrated GS1150 then the Katana. Yep, I had one. Great straight line bike.

@@BikingVikingHH it would’ve kept the wheel locked straight instead of turning when the front wheel came off the ground, so how do you figure it wouldn’t have helped? Every drag bike I’ve been around had stabilizers on them for that purpose.
A friend came across nitro burning Harley drag bikes. He said, "You know what we ought to do?" Not we. I ain't getting on one. I have rode some scary bikes and snowmobiles, but just nope.
I never used a wheelie bar on a motorcycle because the way it’s supposed to stop a wheelie is crazy!! When it touches pavement it lifts the tire off the track breaking traction!🤦🏻♂️ When the tire comes back down there’s TOO much traction causing another wheelie!!🙄 if you don’t crash you’ve already lost!! I had a seat that would allow me to move forward and back to adjust the center of gravity for max traction! Hardly ever wheelied and when I did instead of backing off the throttle I moved F/B with very little throttle movement!! Old school but effective!! This also works on street/dirt bikes.
That small hose that the mechanic let leaked out that small ammount of nitro at 2:45, was for at least a few dollars worht of nitro. Very expensive stuff.
That could be you..... Have to admit I am a little surprised he was so pissed.. Started riding in 93. Daily rain or shine since 2010.. I would think the added classification of drag racing would shrink that pool of riders down to almost like family members. If you are gonna race someone race them at their best. That's how it's done....
grew up in Pomona, had a friend back in the late 80s, takes his drag bike to the desert to run it, it was a bit windy that day and he road the bike anyways. the wind pushed him off the road at over 100, hit a 3 foot dirt embankment and took off in the air. it was not pretty. damn ner killed him, and he never raced again. not going to say his name, diehard California race fans will know who im talking about. 1989 or 90.

I just watched it like 5 times. It looked like it washed out. Idk how when it's so sticky but it slipped on something.
The mini bike walk of shame 😂😂😂🤣🤣
I think the wheelie and dump was more shameful…
Couldn't believe how fast that snowmobile went!
😂😂😂
Same here
These snowmobiles/Minibikes etc. may be good for the spectators but there an unstable handful on the track!
thats what 2 stroke engineering is all about, right now throttle response.
Smooth also.
LMAO,the bolt in the ear was Classic.
Glad Bailey was OK. That was a nasty spill.

Brought back some memories with that 750 Kawasaki H-2, I was just 21 years old when they brought that out, 74 y/o now, lol.
I’m so glad Bailey had on gear and is ok. It was scary to see her go down. Praise Yah for protecting her!
